FBI Reveals How Instagram Posts Led Hushpuppi His Arrest, Says $47.5 Million USD Was Seized From Him

The FBI has revealed how they were able to track down and arrest popular Instagram celebrity, Abbas Ramoni Igbalode, aka Hushpuppi. Hushpuppi was said to have more than $40 million in cash when he was arrested at his Palazo Versace residence in Dubai. There were also luxury vehicles worth $6.1 million that were confiscated from him. FBI agents revealed that Abbas Hushpuppi's case was a star case that would help the FBI get its much-coveted media attention. It was said that the magnitude and method that the crime was executed made it a unique case even though Abbas was using some of the oldest tricks in the book and did nothing exceptionally sophisticated other than scale operations in a very high chain that was able to obtain almost $150 million in total.

Nigerians have reacted to a viral video of Big Brother Naija, BBNaija housemates, Ozo and Nengi .
In the video, Ozo’s hands were seen moving under the duvet towards the chest area of Nengi. It is not clear if Ozo was fondling Nengi’s breast, but Nengi could be heard saying ‘seriously’
on Thursday Ozo and Nengi had a discussion where she stated that she doesn’t want her closeness to him to be misinterpreted. According to her, she doesn’t want to give him the wrong signal.
“Of course I’m having fun but I hope you don’t misunderstand it,” Nengi replied while Ozoemena who seemed to be lost in thoughts, though his face bore no expression as he stared at her.
The video has since stirred reactions from BBNaija fans on Twitter as some alleged that Ozo was touching her breast, others said it was just her hand.

Karl Haddad was flying from Toronto to Montreal when he woke up to realize that the window frame he had been leaning on had a noticeable crack in the casing that moved when he touched it
A plane passenger woke up to realise the window casing he had been sleeping against was broken - and gave people a lot of anxiety continually hitting him in a now-viral video.
Karl Haddad was on the last flight of his journey from Lebanon, flying from Toronto to Montreal with Air Canada to finish the 27-hour journey.
The 20-year-old told BuzzFeed he was exhausted and quickly fell asleep after takeoff, but when he woke up he realized that the window casing he had been leaning on had a noticeable crack in the frame.
Karl said that "threw himself into it a little bit to see if it was a big crack" and had a "small heart attack for about 10 minutes" as he asked for attention.

After receiving N250 million, Dr. Donald Wokoma, a Special Assistant to the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, allegedly failed to execute some contracts awarded to his firms in 2018.
The Economic Confidential gathered that Mr Wokoma was a signatory to the bank accounts of the companies when he was Special Assistant to the Vice President on the National Economic Council, NEC.An investigator from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) presented the agreement while testifying before the Justice Isa Ayo Salami Presidential Investigative Tribunal.
Justice Ayo Salami panel is a Presidential Investigative Committee that examines the ACTIVITIES of the EFCC under the direction of the agency's suspended acting president Ibrahim Magu between 2015 and 2020.
The anti-corruption operation, whose name is withstood for security reasons, alleged that several contracts were awarded without execution and payments to companies in the Presidential Amnesty Program.

Taylor Swift found her GoFundMe appeal and decided to make a generous donation while leaving a touching message for the teenager.

A Romanian pop star was killed when a train smashed into his car – with the stomach-churning moment captured on camera as he live streamed to his followers.
Tavy Pustiu, 29, was listening to loud music in his car when the locomotive ploughed into the car’s passenger side – killing him and leaving his wife fighting for her life. The shocking video footage shows the up and coming musician listening to loud manele music, a type of pop-folk music popular in Romania.
Bopping to the music, the clip shows him looking deeply into the camera lens as he smoked a cigarette. In the live stream, his wife can be seen driving towards a level crossing in the city of Ploiesti, in Romania’s Prahova County. UK Court Jails Abdulrahman Bashir, CEO Of Rahamaniyya Oil For Contempt

A United Kingdom Court has jailed the Chief Executive Officer of Rahamaniyya Oil and Gas Limited, Abdulrahman Bashir, after he was found guilty of breaching multiple orders of the court in a pending suit instituted by Sahara Energy Resources Limited.
Justice Butcher of England and Wales High Court handed a 10-month jail sentence to the oil mogul, and has ordered him to comply with requests for the release of 6,400.69 metric tonnes of gas oil to Sahara Energy Resource Ltd. or its agent from Rahamaniyya Oil and Gas Ltd. This was in line with the deal Ultimate Oil and Gas, the trading arm of Rahamaniyya Oil in the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), entered into with Sahara Energy in 2018. In the signed contract, Ultimate Oil and Gas agreed to buy, and Sahara agreed to sell 15,000 metric tonnes in the Vacuum of Gas Oil.
A Collateral Management Agreement (CMA) containing a London arbitration clause was entered into on July 8, 2018 between the two parties and it was further learnt that Rahamaniyya agreed to store the gas oil at its terminal pending payment by Ultimate. Sahara, it would be recalled, delivered a total of 14,967.159 metric tonnes of gas oil to Rahamaniyya’s terminal in Nigeria and also issued invoices for the gas oil on October 26, 2018 for $10,760,728.77.
The Nigerian Bar Association has withdrawn its invitation to Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, following protests from some lawyers.
The NBA said this in a tweet via its Twitter handle @NigBarAssoc.
The tweet read, “The National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association at its ongoing meeting resolves that the invitation to the Kaduna State Governor, H.E. Nasir El-Rufai, by the 2020 Annual General Conference Planning committee be withdrawn and decision communicated to the Governor.”

Netflix apologizes for inappropriate ‘Cuties’ poster

Netflix has issued an apology for the “inappropriate” marketing poster it released to promote the French movie, Cuties.
The poster released by Netflix shows the young girls of the film in suggestive dance poses.
This led to a petition in Change.org to remove Cuties from the streaming platform, calling it; “Disgusting as it sexualizes an eleven-year-old for the viewing pleasure of paedophiles and also negatively influences our children.”
Falz, has announced the pending release of a new single titled ‘One Trouser’.
The AMVCA winner and award-winning rapper took to his official Twitter page on Wednesday evening to announce this:

Court jails two Lebanese, orders forfeiture of $ 890,000

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt zonal office on Thursday secured the conviction of Chamseddine Waell Mohammed and Dina Jihad Khali who both pleaded guilty to separate 1 count charge of money laundering preferred against them.
The offences run contrary to Section 2 (3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 (as amended) and punishable under Section 2 (5) of the same Act.
Both defendants were sentenced to two years imprisonment by Justice I. M. Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The first charge read: “That you Chamseddine Waell Mohammed on the 1st July, 2020 at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Port Harcourt within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did fail to make a declaration of the sum of $220,000.00 (Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand US Dollars) hid in your Luggage on board a chartered flight with registration number 9HVFF to Lebanon and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 2 (3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 (as Amended) and punishable under section 2 (5) of the same Act”.
The second charge read: “That you Dina Jihad Khali on the 1st July, 2020 at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Port Harcourt within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did fail to make a declaration to the Nigeria Custom Service as required by law cash transportation of the sum of $670,000.00 (Six Hundred and Seventy Thousand US Dollars) hid in your Luggage on board a chartered flight with registration number 9HVFF to Lebanon and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 2 (3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 (as Amended) and punishable under Section 2 (5) of the same Act”.
The defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.
Buhari appoints Daniel Amokachi Special Assistant on Sports

Former Super Eagles skipper Daniel Amokachi has been appointed as Special Adviser on Sports to President Mohammadu Buhari.
The letter of appointment dated August 17 by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha reads: “I am pleased to inform you that Muhammadu Buhari , President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has approved your appointment as Special Assistant on Sports.
“The appointment takes effect from the 11th of August, 2020.”
Kaduna court frees 2 suspected killers of pilot Arotile

2 of the 3 suspected killers of Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot, Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile, were set free by the Kaduna State Magistrate Court 1.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Muhammad Jalige said, based on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution, the 1st suspect, Nehemiah Adejor is going to be arraigned at the State High Court for culpable homicide not punishable with death on the 3rd of September, 2020.
The first suspect, Nehemiah Adejor, drove the car that killed Arotile. Folorunsho Igbekele Faith and Gbayegun Deji who were passengers in the vehicle that was driven by Nehemiah were released.
When the case came up at the Magistrate Court 1 on Thursday, the prosecution Counsel, DSP Martins D. Leo, prayed the Court to discharge the 2nd and 3rd suspects, as their investigation did not find them wanting.
The African Union (AU) has suspended Mali a day after its leaders were detained by mutineering soldiers and the president forced out.
The AU’s 15-member security council “suspends Mali from the African Union until restoration of constitutional order and demands release of President Boubacar Keita, the Prime Minister and other government officials forcibly detained by the army,” the AU Peace and Security Council said on Twitter.
Keita said he had stepped down to avoid “bloodshed” after he was detained in a coup, whose leaders pledged new elections after taking the president and Prime Minister Boubou Cisse into custody.
The 55-member AU had already condemned the “unconstitutional change of government” in the West African nation.

A senior Chief Magistrate in the Lagos State Judiciary Abimbola Aoko-Komolafe has died at the age of 51.
Details of her death are still unclear at the moment, but Mrs Aoko-Komolafe passed away in the early hours of last Monday, August 17.
NSCDC arrest 5 suspected cultists with human skull

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Cross River has arrested 5 suspected cultists in the state with a human skull including mother trying to sell her 9-year-old daughter because a prophetess said she was a witch.
Parading the suspects on Wednesday in Calabar, Mr. Danjuma Elisha, NSCDC state commander in the state, told reporters that the suspects were detained by NSCDC officials on August 18, 2020, in the ogoja local government area.
Elisha revealed that the five people in her custody were detained through a dismissal when suspected worshipers of a rival group were confronted.
His words: "On August 18, 2020, our attention was called upon on a secret cult showdown at 50 Road, Igoli, Ogoja. Upon arriving at the scene, our men found a human skull and other bones believed to be human bones.
“The team on the ground decided to swiftly pick the items and persons found within the vicinity for scrutiny.10 persons were picked up and after interrogations, 5 persons were identified to have questions to answer in relation to the items found,” he said.
Revealing the identity of the suspects, they included, Ejesi Akwa, Ugbem Oloko, Francis Ogbeche, Thomas Ajaba and Gabriel Ogbeche.
Barcelona officially appoint Ronald Koeman as new manager

Barcelona, appointed Ronald Koeman as the club’s new manager.
Barcelona made this known in a statement via the club’s official website.
Koeman took over from Quique Setién, who was sacked on Monday after their exit from the Champions League in the hands of Bayern Munich last Friday.
The statement reads: “FC Barcelona and Ronald Koeman have reached an agreement for the Dutchman to take over as first-team coach until 30 June 2022.

Photos of partygoers at Wuhan Maya Beach Water Park - looking far removed from the outbreak that the rest of the world is still struggling with - have now gone, well, viral.
It's worlds apart from the images that came out of Wuhan when it had the world's first Covid-19 shutdown in January - a ghost town without residents and vehicles.
The closure was lifted in April and there have been no cases of national transmission in Wuhan or Hubei province since mid-May.

Apple becomes 1st US company to hit $2trn in market value

Apple became the first US company to reach $2 trillion in market value in the latest demonstration of how tech giants have benefited from the upheaval of the Coronavirus.
The iPhone maker attained the distinction in mid-morning trading and was up 1.1 percent at $467.18 near 1545 GMT. The company had previously become the first giant to hit $1 trillion in market value in March 2018.
Apple is followed by other technology companies, including Amazon, Microsoft and Google parent Alphabet, all of which now have more than $1 trillion in market value.
Shares in Apple have roughly doubled from March lows, an astonishing performance which has lifted chief executive Tim Cook’s net worth to $1 billion for the first time, according to a Bloomberg Billionaires Index calculation.
Even as other large tech firms have shot higher on robust demand during lockdowns, Apple has outpaced its rivals by delivering strong sales of gadgetry including wearables and tablets, along with new apps and services which have gained ground during the global health crisis.
“Apple has been wildly successful in building out its platforms, mitigating the fact that iPhone sales had peaked, by building products that surround it and services that enhance it,” said Avi Greengart, analyst with the consultancy Techsponential.
“It all feeds back into the cycle for Apple.”
In the past quarter ending in June, Apple reported profits climbed eight percent to $11.2 billion and revenues jumped 11 percent to $59.7 billion.

Tory Lanez will Allegedly Be Charged for Assault by L.A County in Megan Thee Stallion’s Shooting

TMZ reports that the L.A. County D.A.’s Office is considering reviewing possible assault charges against Tory Lanez for his alleged involvement in the Megan Thee shooting.
According to the outlet, an additional charge of felony assault with a firearm will be leveled against the Canadian rapper along with possession of a firearms charge already against him.
Prosecutors are calling for further investigation into the shooting incident of Megan Thee Stallion that occurred in July after rapper 'Savage' said he was shot back in the foot when he exited the SUV he was riding with Tory.
Lanez was initially arrested after the incident, but was only charged with possession of a firearm.
Sources close to Tory Lanez say that if charged, he will probably label the incident as an accidental shooting, claiming there were mitigating circumstances.
