Emirates announces resumption of flights to Nigeria

Emirates will resume its flights between Dubai and Nigeria from December 5, 2021, the Dubai-based airline announced on Thursday.

Flights will be operated from Lagos and Abuja, thus ending months-long standoff with Nigerian authorities.

CNN suspends Chris Cuomo indefinitely

CNN has suspended prime time anchor Chris Cuomo “indefinitely, pending further evaluation,” after new documents revealed the cozy and improper nature of his relationship with aides to his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo’s 9 p.m. program is frequently CNN’s most-watched hour of the day.

He is a larger-than-life presence at the network. And he was determined to stay on TV this year despite a flurry of s3xual misconduct allegations against his brother, which culminated in the governor’s resignation three months ago.

But new documents released on Monday showed that the veteran journalist was more intimately involved than previously known in shaping his brother’s defense.

“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” a CNN spokesperson said Tuesday evening. “The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions.”

“When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly,” the spokesperson continued. “But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second.”

I gave up jewelry because of God – Folorunso Alakija reveals

Billionaire businesswoman, Folorunso Alakija, has revealed why she gave up jewelry and it is because of God.

She narrated on Sunday in church how the journey began and how she is now free.

According to Church Times, she said; “I used to love jewellery. I had all kinds and the jewellery had to match every cloth I wore. In those days I used to tell God not to take jewellery from me. If anybody had come to me and told me not to wear jewellery, I would not have listened to the person. I would have wondered where that person is coming from. But by the time God started dealing with me on it, I had no option but to do away with it.” .

She explained her turning point began when she stared bleeding from her ear lobe.

“That night I just suddenly found I was bleeding from my ear lobe. I did not sleep with earrings that night so I wondered what could have caused the bleeding. My ear lobe became sticky. When soap touched it while I was having my bath, it was hurting,” she said.

She said a week before that experience, her younger sister had a dream that she saw that her ear lobe had cut.

“That dream was almost becoming a reality. At a particular time when we were praying, a nephew of mine asked if I put lipstick on my earlobe because it had become red. The experience was not funny. But to cut a long story short, it took ten days for God to deal with me. Finally, I gave it up. Now I am free,” she added.

Her historic initial appointment as Sweden’s first female prime minister lasted for just hours.

Now, just a few days later, Magdalena Andersson is back and hopes to hold the job for a decade — if she can conquer the obstacles of minority government and an election due to be held in less than a year.

“It feels good, and I am eager to start working,” Andersson told reporters at a news conference Monday, in which she committed to an agenda focused on the environment, welfare and tackling crime.

The 54-year-old former finance minister made history last Wednesday as the first woman to hold the premiership, nearly 100 years after the Scandinavian country extended women the right to vote.

Druglord, El Chapo’s wife imprisoned over money launderin

A US judge sentenced Emma Coronel Aispuro, wife of jailed Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, to 3 years in prison Tuesday on charges of drug trafficking and money laundering.

The sentence was less than the relatively light four years requested by prosecutors, with the judge acknowledging that Coronel was only a teenager when she married the ruthless drug czar and she readily pleaded guilty after her February 2021 arrest.

With long hair and dressed in a dark suit and white turtle neck shirt Coronel, a 32-year-old former beauty queen, apologised to the court.

“I express my true regrets for any and all harm that I may have done,” she said in Spanish before the sentence was announced.

Nollywood veteran actress, Joke Silva has made a shocking revelation of how she was BLACKLISTED in Nollywood.

According to the actress she had this job with this ‘big marketer’, but along the line, the job extended more than the agreed time, and she couldn’t continue, because she had even given in two  more extra days, and this made the marketer drum a beat of secretly getting her blacklisted in the Nollywood.

Speaking to Chude Jideonwo, she revealed it thus;

“Years ago, we did this film that was the time the marketers were getting involved in movies. This marketer came to our house, we were living in Ikeja at the time, brought money for myself and my husband to come on this film that they had already started shooting. And he wanted us to play the parents of the star of the film and we decided to do it.It was Fred Amata who directed at the time. We started shooting and things were going a bit rocky until one day we were waiting for the lead actress. They told us we had to be on location by eight in the morning. And we got on location on time, we are never late. We got dressed and we were waiting. We were waiting till four in the afternoon.

When the marketer then brings the star along to the location, I turned round and I looked at Fred and said ‘I am contracted to work with you for two weeks and I will give you two extra days because I know what location can be like, after those two days, if we don’t finish, I am walking’.Fred said I totally understand. I am sure he didn’t believe I would do it.

When those two days were up, we still had one scene and it was supposed to be a very crucial scene in the film. I didn’t show up. The marketer was big at that time. Because of that, I was secretly blacklisted for quite a while. Mine was never mentioned, but it was done”.

3 students of Adekunle Ajasin develop robotic guard dog

3 students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko are going places with their invention, a robotic guard dog.

The students are of the Physics and Electronics Departments of the University.

They are John Aiyegbeni John, Stephen Adeyi and Charles Loiki Charles.

In an interview with Reuters, the students explained why they developed the guard dog.

Their immediate consideration is that the guard dog if mass produced, will help fight insecurity in the country.

The invented dog barks in reaction to sound and motion.

The owner of the dog can view the trigger via a camera attached to the dog’s chest, without coming out.

Aiyegbeni said the robot is still a work in progress.

They want to make the dog move around like a normal dog, avoid obstacles, recognise its owner and be able to function in all weather.

The daughter of a former Oyo state Governor, Ajay Ajimobi has narrated how she almost got assaulted at a Lagos nightclub.

The 24-year old said some bouncers at a night club in Lagos tried to get their hands on her but thankfully her she had her security with her.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, she said; “Shortly after this we got into a fight at Cocoon Lagos. Your bouncers are okay with assaulting women. #misogynists. Picked the wrong ones though. Imagine being this cute and some sexit loser pig tries to put hands on you. No now,” she wrote.
