“I didn’t send anyone to fight for me” -Toyin Abraham issues warning to fans hurling insults at Lizzy Anjorin

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has issued a strong warning to some of her fans hurling insults at her colleague, Lizzy Anjorin.
Recall that Toyin Abraham, some weeks ago lamented on how her husband
and son was dragged into her dramatic scenes with Lizzy Anjorin.
Some fans and lovers of the actress took it upon themselves to defend
her by insulting Lizzy Anjorin, a move she’s not pleased with.
In a statement issued on her Instagram page, the actress disclosed
that she cannot and will not be held responsible for anyone claiming to
be fighting for her while abusing, cursing or calling out’ perceived
enemies or colleagues
She wrote:
It is important I say this at this point though I have said it before and hopefully, this is the last time I want to say this.
I cannot and will not be held responsible for anyone claiming to be
fighting for me while ‘abusing, cursing or calling out’ perceived
enemies or colleagues.
I saw certain videos on social media of people who purportedly are
fighting for me and cursing others and dragging innocent kids into
needless drama. Please I am not in any way in support of this. Not once
have I ever sent anyone on this type of errands.
Please keep kids out of the drama. These kids will grow up and as they say, the internet never forgets.
I appreciate the love and passion towards me but that is no justification to maim other brands.
Lastly, I strongly suspect that some people are benefiting from this
back and forth, (cos, what I watched this evening, video of people
cursing colleagues’/ people’s kids is unnecessary and evil) hence the
continuous fueling of this tiring drama.
Lastly, if you are a victim of cyber-bullying by anyone, kindly
pursue it to a logical legal conclusion and make the bully pay. That is
what I intend
to do from now on and this is the last time I will be issuing this
kind of statement. I just want to focus on the release of my next film, #theghostandthetouttoo@theghostandtout. Thank you very much. Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi.
Farouk Yahaya takes over at Army HQ as 22nd COAS [Photos]

Major General Farouk Yahaya, the new chief of staff of the
Nigerian Army reported for duty today, as the 22nd holder of the post.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, approved Yahaya’s
appointment, following the death of Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru in a place
crash on May 21 in Kaduna.
The new COAS was until his appointment, the Theatre Commander,
Operation Hadin Kai, the military counter-insurgency operation in the
North East.
Yahaya first visited the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor
before coming to Army Headquarters for the taking over ceremony.
He was received at AHQ by the Chief of Policy and Plan, Maj.-Gen. Ben
Ahanotu, who also briefed him before proceeding to assume office.
The COAS however asked for a minute silence in honour of the late Attabiru and other officers who died with him.

NIS boss orders Passport Offices open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m to clear backlog

Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr
Muhammad Babandede, said passport issuing offices all over the country
will stay open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily to clear the backlog of
applications.
Babandede also announced an increase in its production capacity of
the passport booklets to beat the May 31 deadline set to clear backlog
of passport applications.
He announced this while briefing newsmen on the NIS passport reforms and recruitment exercise on Thursday in Abuja.
He said that the passport production centres across the country were
working round the clock to clear the backlogs before the commencement of
the new passport regime on June 1.
NIS boss also gave assurance that the service had enough booklet,
adding that a total of 23,903 passports were currently awaiting
collection by the applicants.
According to him, more than 35,000 passports had been produced in the
last few days, with about 22,840 collected, 23,903 not collected and 28
damaged.
He urged all applicants to be on alert as text messages were being
sent to their registered phone numbers, adding that those that had
turned off their Do not Disturb button on their phones to reactivate.
Babandede assured applicants that the more than 100,000 pending applications would be dealt with before the deadline of May 31.
“The major challenge we have now is not booklet but production
capacity and we have added two production lines to Ikoyi and Ibadan
centres,” he said.
He warned that the any officer involved in passports racketeering
would be dealt with going forward, adding that the erring officers were
partly responsible for the uncollected passports.

NY Knicks Ban Fan ‘Indefinitely’ For Spitting On Atlanta Hawks Baller Trae Young

The New York Knicks have banned a fan “indefinitely” for spitting on Atlanta Hawks superstar point guard Trae Young.
The incident happened during Game 2 of of the teams’ playoff series on Wednesday night.
The Knicks released the following statement on Thursday:
We investigated the matter and determined that this patron, who is not a season ticket holder, did indeed spit on Trae Young, and for that reason, he is now banned from The Garden indefinitely.
We apologize to Trae and the entire Atlanta Hawks organization for this fan’s behavior. This was completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our venue. We have turned the information over to the appropriate authorities.
A clip of the incident also shows the fan inadvertently spit on 50 Cent‘s girlfriend, Cuban Link.

'Nobody Caught COVID' from Her Private Island 40th Birthday Trip - Kim Kardashian Says

Kim Kardashian made it clear that while her family got COVID-19,
it had nothing to do with her private island birthday vacation with a
group of friends.
The
40th birthday getaway, which the KKW Beauty mogul faced backlash for in
October after posting about it on social media in the middle of the
pandemic, was featured on Thursday’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as
was Kim’s family’s subsequent bout with COVID — though she said the two
occurrences were not connected.
On Twitter, Kim responded to a BuzzFeed News
article that pieced together a timeline of the star’s life events last
fall and suggested she may have caught COVID from the vacation.
“False.
Nobody caught Covid from the trip,” she fired back. “Saint was the
first to have it in our family and he caught it from school from another
student who tested positive first. I then developed symptoms and got it
a few days after he coughed on me while caring for him.”
In the KUWTK episode, filmed in
November, Kim revealed that her son, Saint, 5, had contracted COVID and
it later spread to her and her other kids, daughters North, 7½, and
Chicago, 3, and son Psalm, 2. (Their dad, Kim’s ex Kanye West, had
contracted COVID himself earlier in 2020.)
Kim tweeted on Thursday, “All 4 of my babies and I had Covid!!! At least we all had it together and everyone is ok!”

G Herbo and Taina Williams have welcomed their first child together.
Herbo took toInstagram early Thursday morning (May 27) and shared a heavily cropped photo of himself holding his newborn baby.
Fans learned the couple was engaged and expecting last December when G
Herbo, who is cased up on some fraud tomfoolery, asked a judge to allow
him to travel to see his pregnant fiancé.
They officially announced their pregnancy a month later.
Baby Wright is the second son for the rapper and the first child for Taina.

Toke Makinwa replied to a Twitter user who attacked her for sharing a motivational speech on her page.
The multi media personality had taken to her handle to write on the
entitlement attitude some people have these days.
Taking her journey as a
case study, Toke wrote
''Someday we will have a conversation about young people starting out
and this entitlement issue, it breaks my heart to see so many talented
people miss it.
You cannot cut corners on the way to success, it doesn’t happen
overnight. Don’t let this “wokeness” deceive you, the journey to the top
is Ladened with a lot of sacrifice, you’ll need to do the work and stay
under construction.
You look at day 500 of someone’s success and start to compare your
day 1, your attitude to your success is one of happen right now or I

The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) on Friday said 37 of
its inmates were admitted and matriculated into the National Open
University of Nigeria (NOUN).
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of NCoS, Mr Francis
Enobore on Friday in Abuja, said this was the second matriculation
ceremony at the Custodial Centre, under the auspices of NOUN.
It stated that the inmates were admitted to study various courses as
Business Administration, Political Science, Criminology and Security
Studies, Journalism, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Accounting,
Economics, Christian Religious Studies and Economics Education.
“The Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Olufemi Peters, represented by Dr
Segun Adenuga, the Director of Ogun Study centre, took the enrollee
through the orientation programme.
“The programme exposed their minds to what is expected of them as students of National Open University of Nigeria,” he said.

‘It’s hard walking on my own’ – Tiger Woods speaks on recovery

Tiger Woods says “walking on my own” is his “number
one goal” as he continues to recover from the multiple leg injuries he
sustained in a car crash.
In his first interview since his single vehicle accident near Los Angeles, the American superstar told Golf Digest:“My physical therapy keeps me busy.
“I do my routines every day. I’m taking it one step at a time.”
Woods,
a 15-time major winner, suffered comminuted open fractures to both his
right tibia and fibula as well as multiple fractures in his right foot
and ankle after the accident on 23 February.
In
recent years the 45-year-old had undergone five back surgeries as well
as multiple procedures on his left knee but Woods admitted that his
current spell of rehabilitation is his most challenging yet.
SCANDAL: Pastor’s wife, female member fight dirty in Church

A viral video captures a pastor’s wife and her female church
member fighting inside a Church in Umuahia, Abia State.
The video which was shared on Facebook by a certain Sunday Ogirima
claimed that the woman wearing a blue dress was his pastor’s wife while
the other lady was a Church member.
In the post, Ogirima referred to the women as ‘TST warriors’, perhaps they took the tag a bit too literally…
He wrote;
“SHAMELESS DANCE IN THE CHURCH
“The women fighting inside this Church are TST. The mummy on blue
is Mrs Akaa wife of our Pastor in Umuahia District. The lady receiving
the heat is the daughter of the Deaconess who is on top of the Pastor’s
wife. They are our TST warriors fighting themselves inside the Church.
“My conscience will not be at rest if I see this and close my
mouth when I know that if it is TAG that did it I will not spare them.
“We speak the truth even if it affects us.
“Some may not like me for doing this against TST Family but it

The Nigerian movie industry has rapidly grown as its first horror movie ‘The Mystic River’ berths on the Netflix platform.A project is by Rogers Ofime, while Uxodinma Okpechi directed the six-part horror movie.
The ‘Mystic River’ which stars Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, Lota Chukwu,
Ben Toutou, Joke Muyiwa, Thelma Nwosu, Jeffery Musa David, premiered on
Netflix on May 14, 2021.
The six-part horror series, tells the story of a young couple who
relocated to a remote Nigerian Village following the woman’s deployment
as a doctor in the village health centre.
They are oblivious of the deadly practice of sacrificing pregnant women to their gods to avert suffering and death.
The mystery surrounding the disappearing pregnant women is about to
be unravelled by the young doctor who herself is pregnant, as she
encounters the brutal suicide of Bisi who is marked for sacrifice, right
before her.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 43-year-old actress has landed a new deal that will see her reprising her role as Okoye in a Black Panther spinoff series for Disney+. And this new project, untitled “origins” series, will be produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler.
This awesome news comes after Coogler confirmed he had signed an
exclusive five-year TV deal with the Walt Disney Company, where he will
develop various projects, including a Black Panther drama series centered on the fictional nation off Wakanda.
“It’s an honor to be partnering with The Walt Disney Company. Working
with them on Black Panther was a dream come true,” Coogler said at the
time. “As avid consumers of television, we couldn’t be happier to be
launching our television business with Bob Iger, Dana Walden and all the
amazing studios under the Disney umbrella.”
Lala Anthony Joins Cast of Wu-Tang: An American Saga for Season 2

Seyi Olofinjana named new technical director of Swiss club

Seyi Olofinjana, former Super Eagles midfielder, has been
named the new technical director of Grasshopper Club Zurich, a football
team in Switzerland.
The deal was announced in a statement released by the club on Wednesday.
The 40-year-old will take over from Jimmy Berisha, the interim sports
director who will now return to the position of managing director.
The first course of action for Olofinjana will be the appointment of a new head coach.

CBN Governor promises digital currency will come to Nigeria

During the 279th MPR meeting held in Abuja, the CBN Governor,
Godwin Emefiele assured Nigerians that digital currencies will have a
place in the country.
CBN’s Emefiele said, “We have carried out our investigation and we
found out that a substantial percentage of our people are getting
involved in cryptocurrency which is not the best. Don’t get me wrong,
some may be legitimate but most are illegitimate.”
Under cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, Nigeria comes 2nd while in the
global side of the economy, Nigeria comes 27th. We are still conducting

Emefiele voiced his concerns surrounding digital assets using the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk’s uncertainty as an example.
“We saw the market collapse. Initially, when Elon Musk tweeted around
the time when we said our banking and payment facilities are no longer
available for cryptocurrency transactions and he tweeted that he will
invest $1.5 billion and the price (Bitcoin) went up. He now tweeted and
raised a few concerns and the thing (Cryptocurrency) plunged.”
After stating his concerns, the CBN governor went on to say, “We are
committed in the CBN and I can assure everybody that digital currency
will come to life even in Nigeria.”

before the end of this year is gradually coming to fulfillment as the
project has entered an assessment stage by the aviation authorities.
This is as the officers from the Ministry of Aviation and its
agencies visited NASENI Solar Energy Limited where the NASENI Helicopter
Hanger and Helipad are housed in Abuja for on-site assessment and
evaluation of NASENI Helicopter.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief
Executive of NASENI Engr. Mohammad Sani Haruna, who was represented by
the Managing Director NASENI Solar Energy Limited, Engr. Dr. Mahmoud
Jaffaru, said the agency was ready to accept any suggestions and support
from the aviation ministry that would lead to the successful completion
of the project within the time frame given to the agency by President
Muhammadu Buhari.
He noted that it was the desire of the agency to manufacture
made-in-Nigeria Helicopter that is of international standards and help
in boosting the nation’s economy.
According to him, NASENI has massive land mass that would accommodate all the operational activities.

Brad Pitt wins joint custody of kids as Angelina Jolie continues legal fight
Hollywood star, Brad Pitt, has been granted joint custody of
his children with his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie following a lengthy
court battle, Page Six reports.
The 57-year-old Oscar winner has been fighting Jolie, 46, through the
courts for nearly five years for equal rights to their6 kids.
A source close to the issue said it was a “tentative decision,” adding that Jolie is continuing her legal fight.
Judge John Ouderkirk, the private judge hired by the former couple to
oversee the case, made his thoughts clear in a lengthy recent ruling,
after months of witness testimony, including child services
professionals who interviewed the Jolie-Pitt children and others who
have been around the family.
Another source with knowledge of the case told Page Six; “There was a
significant change made in the custody agreements based on an extremely
detailed decision made by the judge.
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) said two lovers
have been arrested for impersonating its Executive Chairman, Mr Muhammad
Nami, to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
Mr Abdullahi Ahmad, Director, Communications and Liaison Department
of FIRS, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday.
Ahmad explained that the two suspects and lovers were arrested on
Monday for allegedly impersonating the Executive Chairman of the service
on Facebook to defraud unsuspecting job-seekers.
He said the female suspect who claimed to be a graduate of Imo State
University, awaiting call-up for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
and her lover were nabbed and currently in police net at the FCT police
command in Abuja.
He disclosed that a team from the Intelligence and Investigation Unit of
the FIRS nabbed the duo following a complaint by their victims and
thereafter handed them to the police.
Dapo Abiodun approves two security guards for schools

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has approved that the
employment of two security guards for every primary and secondary school
in the state.
Mr Abiodun stated this during the 7th Quadrennial (15th) State
Delegates’ Conference of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT ) held in
Abeokuta.
The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Education, Science
and Technology, Abayomi Arigbabu, stated that the measure was to
strengthen the security of the students, teachers, and schools.
The governor explained, “On security challenges in our school, we
have approved the employment of two security men each in all schools
throughout the state.
“We have also discussed with NSCDC, looking into the possibility of using them as part of the security measures in our schools.”

Grammys change rules for “Album of the Year” category

The Recording Academy, the organizers of the prestigious
Grammy Awards, has updated its rules for the album of the year category,
giving more producers and songwriters a better chance at winning the
top award.
The academy on Wednesday announced that any producer, songwriter,
engineer or featured artist on an album nominated for album of the year
will also earn a nomination — even if the music creator co-wrote one
song on the 10-track project.
“Moving forward, all credited artists (including featured artists),
songwriters of new material, producers, recording engineers, mixers, and
mastering engineers are eligible to be GRAMMY nominees and recipients
in the Album Of The Year category,” the Recording Academy wrote.
Before the change, songwriters or producers would need to be credited
with at least 33% or more playing time on the album to be eligible for
nomination a rule implemented in 2017.
The Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria
(AMBCN) has asked its members to increase the prices of bread and other
items by 30 percent due to the rise of economic inflation across the
country.
The association’s stakeholders explained that the sudden increase in
bread prices is due to the high cost of production and commodities such
as sugar, yeast, and flour.
The directive was part of the resolution reached during the National
Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the association held in Abuja.
National President of AMBCN, Masur Umar, acknowledged that there will
be a 30 percent increase in the prices of bread in the coming days.
“After considering the impact of the skyrocketed prices of baking
ingredients/materials, for the survival of our noble business, which is
presently bleeding, the association came to the conclusion to adjust our
prices by 30 percent,” the statement reads.

allowed transgender women to compete, a move that earned widespread

“Trans women are eligible to enter the Miss South Africa pageant,”

Major-General Farouk Yahaya appointed as the New Chief of Army Staff

Eko Bridge will be closed partially for 10 weeks for emergency repairs
to be carried out, the Lagos state government has said.
The timeline is from June 4 to August 13.
Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde, confirmd in a statement.
According
to Oladeinde, the repair was necessary to complete the rehabilitation
works at the opposite side of the bridge earlier embarked upon by the
federal government.
He explained, “Traffic from Apongbon to Alaka,
Stadium, Inner Surulere or Ikorodu Road will be diverted to Eko bridge
to access Costain Roundabout to Iponri through Alaka and Funso Williams
Avenue.

a mistake or misbehave, correcting them firmly but kindly and with love
is better than hitting them, yelling at them, shaking them or giving
them some kind of physical punishment. Especially when they are under 5.
For
instance with Jayce, I’ve had family and close friends tell me he is a
kind and loving boy but they are family and friends so you just feel
they are being nice…but less than two weeks of starting school, his
teacher described him as a kind boy in his daily report book. That made
my whole week. It tells me the love and kindness I show him every day is
shaping him and he’s passing it forward.”

something to say, acknowledging their feelings, recognising their
positive behaviour and maybe even rewarding that behaviour will help to
shape them into great individuals.
