Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon & Sarah Silverman cover GQ’s Comedy Issue ...

Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon & Sarah Silverman cover GQ's Comedy Issue - and it's Something! | BellaNaija

Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, and Sarah Silverman cover the magazine’s 2018 edition of its annual comedy issue.

In what may just be a shade to Vanity Fair’s botched Hollywood Issue cover which featured Reese Witherspoon with 3 legs and Oprah Winfrey with 3 arms, GQ has filled their cover with an array of limbs.

Torso-less limbs appear behind backs and across bellies.

GQ, writing about the cover, gave an apology to their cover stars:
GQ would like to apologize to Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, and Sarah Silverman for the egregious mistakes made in the process of creating the cover for our 2018 comedy issue, the latest in our pantheon of mostly annual love letters to the funniest humans we know. Our intention was to celebrate the three super-funny superstars, who are all that is smart and perceptive and riotous and necessary in comedy right now. We deeply regret that the results violated GQ’s rigorous standards of editorial excellence and the laws of nature.
In an effort to ensure that an error of this magnitude never happens again, and because this sounds like the right thing to say, GQ will be conducting a thorough internal audit of our cover-development process. To demonstrate our commitment to transparency, we will release the results of the review, quietly, in 17 months, on Medium.

Blackky Inyang Bluntly Calls Out All Nigerian Entertainer For This Reason

Veteran Nigerian singer, Blackky Inyang is displeased with his colleagues in the industry as according to him they have continued to promote drug abuse with their music. He took to his Facebook page to call them out writing; ”I am deeply worried about the high level of drug abuse amongst some of my colleagues-Artistes..musicians…etc The abuse of tramadol, codeine,Indian hemp, etc have become so rampant these days and to make matters worse some of these Artistes go ahead to glorify these highly destructive hard drugs in their songs thereby encouraging their listeners and fans to experiment with them. This must stop! To those Artistes/Musicians doing this, they must realise that music is so POWERFUL and capable of destroying an entire generation or even generations unborn so they must be careful what songs they put out there. They must also realise that they do NOT need any hard drugs,Indian hemp etc to compose good music, perform on stage or even face a crowd….all this will come NATURALLY……Ovastand?? Janet Jackson On Early Challenges, Upcoming Music, Motherhood as she covers Billboard’s Latest Issue

Janet Jackson discusses Early Challenges, Upcoming Music, Motherhood as she covers Billboard's Latest Issue

Janet Jackson  is set to receive the prestigious Icon Award at this year’s Billboard Music Awards showcase this weekend.
To this end, she covers Billboard Magazine‘s
latest release and she opens up to David Ritz on the challenges she faced earlier in her career, motherhood as well as the younger acts that impress her currently.
Read excerpts from the interview below:
On releasing her very first two records, Janet Jackson and Dream Street:
Excitement was in the air. Music was always my heart, and now I was getting to sing my heart out. The songs were good, but they weren’t me. [She only began co-writing most of her songs on Control.] That was a little confusing. I knew I had something to say, I knew I had to assert myself. I also knew I had to go through the painful process of what my brothers had gone through. I had to thank my father for his help and then move on. I had to assert myself.
On her breakthrough song, Control:
Control was undoubtedly the break-through. But I think the concept is sometimes misunderstood. I’m a believer. I know that God has absolute control. I’ve never wavered in that belief. I don’t mean I don’t get controlling — most artists do. But I also know that turning myself into a control freak goes against my character. I’m much more a collaborator than a controller. So I saw control, even as a 20-year-old, in modest and limited ways. For example, I agreed to be produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. That was critical because they were not controlling. They let me be me. They encouraged me to tell my story, express my attitudes and step forward with my convictions. They encouraged me to write. I also had the control to select choreographers and video directors who could channel — and help me shape — my own dance moves, turning them into visual poetry. I didn’t control those wonderfully creative people, and they didn’t control me. It was more about molding fruitful partnerships. And based on those partnerships and the success of Control, I could move on and assert myself even more boldly.
