AMCON , Friday took over Aero Contractors, over its inability to pay a whopping $200 million debt.
Aero-Contractors-360x236
AMCON, which owns over 60 per cent of the airline’s shares, announced the dissolution of the board of Aero and appointed a manager to oversee the affairs of the company.

The decision to dissolve the board follows protests and letters by aviation unions, Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association (ATSSSAN) and the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) against the management of the company accusing the management of the company of fraud
The asset management company says that it decided to make changes in the management of the airline to protect the brand heritage of the airline. Aero Contractors is currently Nigeria’s oldest airline, established in 1959.
“AMCON would like to assure the regulatory authorities, the travelling public and key stakeholders that the airline will continue to operate on the solid foundation of safety and security with excellent customer service,” the statement said.

LOVE THAT WORKS!!!! Branson shares love story as he celebrates 40th wedding anniversary

"Forty years ago this Sunday, my life changed for the better, forever. On February 7th 1976 at our Virgin Records studio, the Manor, I experienced love at first sight upon meeting a blonde-haired, down to earth, Scottish beauty named Joan, who just happened to be making a cup of tea.

I generally make up my mind about someone within 30 seconds of meeting them, and Joan won my heart instantly. She was unlike any other women I had ever met. She was beautiful. She was bright. She was witty. She was down to earth. She was fun. And she had eyes made of magic. However, the feeling wasn’t immediately reciprocated. I had to work hard for her attention, and ultimately affection.

I found out that she worked in a bric-a-brac shop in Westbourne Grove called Dodo’s, close to our Virgin Records office on Vernon Yard, and I began to persistently hang around the shop – popping in to buy countless objects that I really didn’t need, and had no room for since I lived on a small houseboat. But it was worth it for many reasons; because I got to see Joan, and because one purchase – an old Danish bacon advertising sign with a caption that read: ‘Now, that’s what I call music’ – inspired the Now! CD compilations.

Eventually my courting paid off, and soon we were meeting up regularly; stealing 20 precious minutes at lunch, quarter of an hour before a meeting, or a few moments after she shut up shop. But our relationship wasn’t straightforward, and two years later, still determined to win her heart, I made a grand gesture.
Upon hearing that there was an island in the British Virgin Islands up for sale, I called the people selling it to enquire. As we were still in the early days of Virgin Records, I by no means had the cash to buy it. Luckily, the realtor didn’t know this and offered me an all-expenses paid trip to see the island that included a house and helicopter! I agreed to go on one condition – if I could bring a guest.

To my delight, Joan agreed to join me on the trip. Together we strolled around Necker Island and dreamed up plans for turning it into our home and a haven for musicians. Smitten with the unspoilt paradise, and keen to impress Joan, I offered the highest amount I could afford: $100,000. The realtor’s ‘discounted’ asking price was $6 million, so you can imagine the response I got. There was no laid-on helicopter on our return trip, and we hitch-hiked back to the airport!

A year went by and nobody else made an offer, so the owner, who was desperate to sell, finally agreed to a purchase price of $180,000. I begged and borrowed this money, and Joan and I made it our home and were married there 11 years later.

I don’t like to think what my life would be like had I not met Joan. She is the most amazing and supportive partner, wonderful mother to our two lovely children Holly and Sam, and perfect grandmother to our three beautiful grandchildren, Artie, Etta and Eva-Deia.

"Happy anniversary Joan. Forty years have flown by with you at my side. It’s been one big ridiculous adventure of fun, friendship and love. Thank you for making life extraordinary. Your eyes are still as magic as they were forty years ago!"

TOUCHING STORY ON LOVE ... I WILL DO THID 40TH ANNIVERSARY TOO..LOL

Piece of Peace: CAMOUFLAGED FRIENDS

Hello and welcome to a piece of peace, your weekly dose of motivation and inspiration. This week I would like to share with you on the topic, “Camouflaged Friends”. We all have them. Those friends we know we do not like, and they also do not like us but we all pretend to be completely fine with each other whenever we meet.
A part of you gets a sinking feeling because you know for that brief couple of seconds, which sometimes feels like an eternity, you will have to be fake and pretend that you completely love them. Those acquaintances are easier to handle. You simply avoid them or fully commit to either being friends or not. What I want to share with you today relates to the friends, who are close enough to mimic the characteristics of true friends but deep inside, are plotting to take you down. Those are the dangerous ones because you do not see them coming and usually it is too late by the time you do. Here is a little story I came across a while ago which gave me a lot to think about.

There was once a woman who had a pet snake that she loved very much. The snake was about 7 feet long and one day it just stopped eating. After several weeks of trying everything she could to get the snake to eat the woman took it to the vet. The woman explained the situation to the vet and he replied “I see…let me ask you has your snake been sleeping with you at night or snuggling real close and stretching his self out?” the woman replied “Yes! Every day and it makes me so sad that I can’t help him feel better.” The Vet says “Madam. Your snake is not sick; it has been preparing to eat you. He’s been sizing you up every day so he knows how big he has to be and not eating so he has enough room to digest you.” Moral of the story, just because someone acts like a friend, it does not mean their true intentions for being in your life is as it may appear.
It is imperative to understand your inner circle. Those closest to you are usually the ones that share your most confidential thoughts and secrets to the outside world. They are the ones that provide the insight about something you trusted them to keep secret.
The concept is broken down in even simpler and more authoritative language in the Bible. In Jeremiah, we are given the instruction, Let everyone beware of his neighbour, and put no trust in any brother, for every brother is a deceiver, and every neighbour goes about as a slanderer.
This may seem a bit extreme, but the salient point of the message is, you can never fully put your trust in another person. As humans we are designed to make mistakes and we often do. In our friendships, we need to ensure that those we do decide to trust are real friends instead of the camouflaged ones.
Putting your trust in the wrong person often leads to very dire consequences which sometimes may be impossible to recover from. The only person you can really rely on is God and yourself and those are the only two people you need. And no matter what, always remember to be yourself because everyone else is taken.
Much Love, Peace Hyde.
