Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Oyo State, Dr Mojisola Atalabi-Oladele, has asked female medical doctors to sponsor health bill and laws in Nigeria that will promote good health.
Speaking at the investiture of new executive members of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Oyo State in Ibadan, Dr Atalabi-Oladele stated that women occupy unique positions to influence health bill and laws that can ensure a healthy nation.
The NMA chairman, who remarked that women have the power of influence, stated, “being women confer such an important honour to really ensure the health of this nation through health bill.
“Our husbands will listen to us; our children will listen to us. If things are really not being done, it is our fault. So we should sponsor health bills and make sure that enabling laws are made in the country to promote good health.”
Earlier, Dr Hannah Dada-Adegbola in her acceptance speech as the MWAN’s new president said the body has resolved to expand the role of women in the achievement and maintenance of health throughout Nigeria.
She said, the association during her tenure will support control of malnutrition and childhood illnesses; educational support for indigent brilliant children; ensure a reduction in violence against women and vulnerable groups as well as embark on a regular home visit and medical check-up for the elderly.
In collaboration with other organisations like Federation of Lady Lawyers, she assured increase public awareness programmes on different public health issues such as cancer to improve the health status of Nigerians. ❤ ❤ 2348050417551 available for a good time ... spill TEA....
