A Florida burglary suspect tried to shoot his shot at the female judge during a virtual court appearance on Thursday, February 4.

Demetrius Lewis flirted with Judge Tabitha Blackmon immediately after stepping in front of the camera for his bond meeting in Fort Lauderdale. He also went as far as professing his love for the judge. 

“Judge, you [are] so gorgeous, so gorgeous judge, I just had to tell you. You’re gorgeous,” Lewis says. “I love you. I love you,” he adds.

Judge Blackmon, who appears to be flattered by the suspect's comments, said in her reply: “Alright Mr. Lewis. Flattery will get you everywhere. But maybe not here.”

Man jumps to his death during EFCC raid at 1004 Estate

A man died after jumping from the 7th floor of 1004 Housing Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos.

A resident told The Punch that the deceased jumped from an apartment at Block D5 during a raid by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday morning.

The Punch learnt that a combined team of EFCC officials and policemen had stormed the estate in search of some alleged Internet fraudsters otherwise known as ‘Yahoo Boys’.

However, during the raid, the deceased, who was believed to be a short-term resident, allegedly jumped from the apartment and died.

The clothes feature skulls, further raising brows, and is said to be fit for kids of any gender.

Man drags slayqueen to court after he gave her N5k transport fare and she refused to show up

A Nigerian man from Kaduna state has dragged a slay queen to court to retrieve the N5k he sent her for transport fare after she refused to show up as agreed.

The story was shared in a tweet posted by one Mr. Faruk identified with the Twitter handle @WizzFarukk on Thursday.

According to him, his friend had sent money to a lady to use as transport aid for an agreed visit at his Kaduna residence.

However, immediately after receiving the money, the said lady started giving flimsy excuses on why she can no longer visit.

Faruk’s friend annoyed by the lady’s attitude, headed to court and has now successfully received reimbursement of the money from the lady.

2 siblings, Chiamaka and Emeka Ifezue, who allegedly masterminded the killing of Enugu make-up artist have been arraigned before the Enugu magistrate court. Reports gathered that Chiamaka and her brother killed Ijeoma for being the new girlfriend to Chiamaka’s ex-boyfriend. During the hearing, it was disclosed that Chiamaka lured Ijeoma by inviting her for a make up job. On getting there and suspecting foul play, Ijeoma quickly sent an SOS message to a friend, before forced to drink a poisoned substance. EFCC swoops on ''internet fraudsters'' in Ibadan, nabs 7

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Friday, swooped on suspected internet fraudsters at their hideout in Wisdom Estate, Akobo area of Ibadan.

The early morning operation, which followed series of intelligence on the alleged criminal activities of the syndicate, resulted in the arrest of seven suspects between the ages of 17 and 29 years.

The suspects include Sodiq Oluwasegun, Opeyemi Jamiu, Babatunde Damilare, Adisa Babatunde, Abayomi Taofeek, Oluyemi Kayode and Ambrose Timothy.

When Harry and wife Meghan Markle dramatically quit their royal duties last January, the Duke was forced to give up his various roles in Her Majesty's armed forces for one year.

The decision to strip him of the titles will be reviewed next month - and according to the prince's "friends", he is "determined" to win them back.

Yet, royal insiders say the Queen's grandson is unlikely to retain the titles as he cannot be a "half-in, half-out" royal.

Romania church under fire as 6-week-old baby dies in baptism

The Orthodox Church was facing growing pressure on Thursday to change baptism rituals in Romania after a baby died following a ceremony, which involves immersing infants 3 times in holy water.

The 6 week-old suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital on Monday but he died a few hours later, the autopsy revealing liquid in his lungs.

Prosecutors have opened a manslaughter probe against the priest in the northeastern city of Suceava. 

An online petition calling for changes to the ritual had gathered more than 56,000 signatures by Thursday evening.

Hollywood actor, Chadwick Boseman has received a posthumous nomination for the 2021 Golden Globes.

On Wednesday, February 3, Taraji P. Henson announced a handful of the nominations, revealing that the actor, who passed away in August 2020, received a well-deserved nod in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama category for his role as the boisterous Levee in the 2020 Netflix original film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Boseman’s posthumous nomination comes just over four months after the 43-year-old passed away after a long battle with colon cancer. He goes up against Riz Ahmed, Anthony Hopkins, Gary Oldman and Tahar Rahim.

There is no denying the raw talent the star brought to the groundbreaking film. The plot centers on the unique story of the influential 1920s blues singer Ma Rainey, portrayed by Viola Davis.

Earlier this year, Boseman’s wife Taylor Simon Ledward accepted an Actor Tribute at the 30th Annual IFP Gotham Awards in his honor and delivered a moving speech noting her late husband’s purpose in life and dedication to his craft.

Officials of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a passenger with cocaine worth N7b at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA).

Ukaegbu Bright Onyekachi, a passenger with Ethiopian Airlines from Guarulhos International Airport, Sao Paolo, Brazil via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, was nabbed at the E-arrival wing of MMIA. It weighed 3.30kg.

Ukaegbu, however, claimed that he was unaware the drug was concealed in the check-in luggage allegedly given to him by a Nigerian based in Brazil.
