Frank Lampard Appointed Derby County Manager

Frank Lampard has been appointed the new manager of Derby County on a 3-year contract. The former Chelsea midfielder takes on his first managerial role after retiring as a player last year.

The 39-year-old was one of 20 applicants for the position and becomes Derby's seventh manager in the last three years.

Speaking for the first time as Derby manager, Lampard said the club would be targeting a top-six finish next season.

“I’ve always wanted to manage a club with a big tradition and history like Derby County, so this is a huge opportunity. I have spent considerable time discussing the role and the club’s objectives with the Chairman and board members," said Lampard.

Jail Was Quite Productive, Sinzu Reveals

 Sinzu who just got signed on to Davido's record label, DMW in an interview with Ovie of NotJustOkTv has revealed jail was quiet productive for him.

While speaking with Ovie, Sinzu said in his first year in prison he wrote about 180 songs and in his second year, he wrote 120 songs, which makes it all 300 songs writen by him while behind bars.

He also stated he was coming out fully now that he is back home and revealed he will be working with FalztheBahdguy. Sinzu also revealed he worked in jail and earned $16 a month. Welcome back!

Veteran actor and former President of the Association of Movie Producers in Nigeria, Paul Obazele, says Homosexual producers have taken over Nollywood. He made the allegation in an interview with Punch.

''I would not lie, we have gay producers and lesbians in the Nigerian entertainment industry and they are the people in control. Why are we hiding it? When I was president of the Association of Movie Producers, I was against them. Why are we pretending that it does not happen? The same way it happens in Nollywood is the same way it happens in the medical field and other fields. The truth be told , it happens across the board. If you mention the names of some producers, I would gladly tell you if they are gay or not ; they cannot do anything to me. If they bring a war to me, I would take it to their doorsteps. Health Workers Union, JOHESU, Suspends Strike

 

The Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) has suspended its nationwide strike that started 6 weeks ago.

The union announced the decision via a communique issued at the end of its National Executive Council meeting.

 Signed by Biobelemoye Josiah, the national chairman of JOHESU, the union said the strike was called off because of the sympathy the union has for the suffering Nigerian masses and also to pave way for further negotiations to continue .

Trump Jr. Defends Kim Over New York Post Cover

Donald Trump Jr. came to Kim Kardashian's defense after the New York Post ran a cover story mocking the reality star's recent meeting with President Donald Trump.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star met with the president on Wednesday to discuss prison reform. Later that day, the newspaper teased its new cover.

"The Other Big Ass Summit," the cover read along with the phrases "Kim Thong Un pitches prez on prison reform" and "Trump Meets Rump."

The commander-in-chief's eldest son shared the cover on Instagram and defended the reality star in the caption. He also claimed there was a "double standard" in terms of how the media covers the Trump administration versus how it covered former President Barack Obama's administration.


"Hate to always have to point out the obvious but you never got this kind of hate [when] Obama did his parading of celebs through The White House," he wrote. "When he did it they were all amazingly subject matter experts. Why the continued double standard? Here a woman @kimkardashianwho happens to be a celeb has spent years on one case researching it funding legal defense funds but because she met with @realdonaldtrump about the issue that she's taken very seriously, she's mocked and criticized. If she did the same under the prior admin it would have been lauded."

"It's time to open our eyes," he continued. "The BS from the media and left wing agenda really needs to stop. Just look at he numbers. @potus is crushing it. Imagine what he could do without the noise and with 1/10th the support from the MSM and others that Obama got. It would be truly remarkable... and that's precisely what the other side is afraid of. #usa #america."

Kim has yet to comment on the New York Post's cover.

The reality star met with the president and his senior adviser Jared Kushner to ask them to pardon a 62-year-old woman named Alice Marie Johnson, who is serving a life sentence without parole for a first-time, nonviolent drug offense.

I Saved Up To Buy My Wife Her G-Wagon, Femi Gbajabiamila Reacts To Online Backlash

Femi Gbajabiamila, a member of the House of Representatives, has defended his much talked about car gift to his wife. The lawmaker trended on social media after a photo and video of a brand new Benz G-Wagon he got his wife for her 50th birthday surfaced online.

  Gbajabiamila said he saved for “a couple of years” to buy his wife the luxury vehicle.

Part of his statement reads… “My attention has been drawn to the extensive reports especially on social media regarding the presentation of a gift to my wife and best friend in celebration of her 50th birthday anniversary.


Naturally I had anticipated this occasion for quite a while and prepared by saving up for it in the last couple of years. I took the decision far back to present her with a significant gift, she was totally unaware of, to convey in part, the debt of my gratitude to her for standing by me through ‘thick and thin’. I could never have been half the man I am today without her support and unbelievable understanding. Truly, the monetary value of any gift real or imagined, pales in significance when I consider how much of a ‘rock and pillar’ she has been to me.

“The presentation of the gift contrary to public perception, was to be a family affair in our home but it suffered some delays finally arriving when a number of guests were in to celebrate with my wife. It still would have remained a private affair, but I guess we underestimated the power of social media and very excited friends.

“Having said this, I understand and appreciate the reaction of the public. As a public official, one must be held to a higher standard. My action was not meant to offend sensibilities and I regret that it did.

“Being a leader in many spheres, I can very well understand the optics of it. But I would rather want it to be seen as what it is-an expression of deep appreciation and love for my wife of almost thirty years, rather than one of flamboyance.

“I remain truly committed to my values of improving lives for my constituents and Nigerians at large.
