According to Vanguard, Obasanjo had insisted that, he was born in 1937 on market day in Ifo in Ogun State.
He said

 “‎I do not know the date of my birth, then, I used to ask my mum that ‘mama they said we should come to school with our date of birth and my mum will say you are very stupid, you are born on Ifo market day. And whoever wants to know the date of your birth, tell them you are born on Ifo market day. “She explained that all she could remember was Ifo market day. she was ready to go to Ifo market that day before she went into labour , before those that went to market comes back ‎I have already been bone. “That then led me into the trouble of trying to find out when I was born, I was not as lucky as some of my colleagues that have their date of birth . In fact, I went to an astronomer in India, I told him to look at my palm and tell me my real age, but ,all he told me was that I will have longevity of life, but, that was not what I went to do. So, I concluded on the date that I have chosen.

Chimamanda becomes the 2nd Nigerian to be elected into USA Academy of Arts and Letters

  Chimamanda Ngozi- Adichie has been elected into the American Academy of Arts and Letters as a foreign honorary member.

According to a press release by the Academy , the honorary members will be inducted at the annual induction in May. 

This will make her the second Nigerian to be inducted into the academy after Wole Soyinka's induction in 1986.

African dishwasher Ali Sonko is made partner of world famous Noma restaurant in Christianshavn

Ali Sonko, who has worked in the Noma kitchen since it first opened in 2003, was announced at a party in Copenhagen to mark the restaurant’s last day at its famous waterfront location in Christianshavn.

The restaurant, named the world’s best four times by Restaurant magazine and three times in the San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best, is due to move to a new location and reopen as an urban farm in December.

In a Facebook post, René Redzepi, the chef who runs Noma, said it was “one of the happiest moments of my time at Noma” to announce that Ali was to become one of his new business partners, saying it was in recognition of his hard work and enduring smile.

“I don’t think people appreciate what it means to have someone like Ali in the house,” Redzepi told friends gathered for a party to mark Noma’s move. “He is all smiles, no matter how his 12 children are faring.”

Sonko, 62, moved to Denmark 34 years ago after emigrating from his native Gambia where he worked as a farmer, said his job as “the best ever”.

“I cannot describe how happy I am to work here,” he told the Danish website BT. “There are the best people to work with and I am good friends with everyone. They show enormous respect towards me and no matter what I say or ask them, they are there for me.”

Redzepi, whose restaurant also has two Michelin stars, said he was also planning to surprise other staff “with a piece of the walls they have chosen to work so hard within”. Alongside Sonko, Lau Richter, Noma’s service director, and James Spreadbury, an Australian who has managed the restaurant since 2009, are also to be made partners in the business. Redzepi said his father, also called Ali, had worked as a dishwasher when he had arrived in Denmark as an immigrant from Macedonia.

PG13 Disney channel broadcasted its very first gay kissing scene in Monday’s episode of the cartoon “Star vs. the Forces of Evil.”
The cartoon which aired on Disney XD, saw main character Star and her friend Marco attend a concert where they were surrounded by kissing couples, including two men, and later in the episode, two women.

According to the email Vice President and former Attorney general Lagos State. "When I was a lecturer in UNILAG, I visited a retired Judge who stayed in a rented BQ apartment of two rooms. The first room which served as sitting room had no where you can sit on. It was filled with books. The second is bedroom for him and his wife. The children have grown and they don't stay with them. Here is a honest Judge, sincere old man but who had nothing to fall back on. It saddened me.



"Therefore, when I was appointed Attorney General of Lagos, we did a survey among Judicial stakeholders, we asked people to rate the judicial system into categories notoriously corrupt, highly corrupt, fairly corrupt, not corrupt....

"In the result, the respondents said 89% was notoriously corrupt!!!!!! "We then decide to do three things. Review the wages of Judicial Officers, Improve their welfare and establish a credible recruitment process. We then increased Judges salaries from N67k to......which will ensure they pay their children school fees, paid for expenses comfortably. What we pay became the standard all over the country and even in the Appellate court's....We built house for them which they own forever. It is theirs during service and their property after service. It is theirs forever.

 "For any corrupt allegation against any judge, we didn't use State Judiciary Commission to review in order to avoid interference, we sent to NJC straightaway and followed it up until we get results. Through this, we were able to sack many judges and magistrates.... "After some times, we reconducted same survey we did before and the result shows that 0% of Lagos Judges are corrupt. "We will build a sound structure here too. That's the best way to fight corruption.

Oge Okoye was called out by the fan page of American actress Kenya Moore for stealing the photos of Moore’s dogs and reposting on Instagram as hers.

“Yiipeeee! My new babies just arrived. #Rob #Rosy,” Okoye shared on her Instagram, but she was immediately called out by the Kenya Moore fan page for fraud, just like Yvonne Nelson did the fan who stole her photo. 

“Some lady in Africa took a screen shot of king and twirl from Kenya’s page and she’s claiming them as hers. Peep Kenya’s Range Rover logo on the floor mat 😩💀 This lady is an actual verified user too 😂REPORT! #FRAUDULENT,” the fan page captioned the screenshot of the original post side by side the stolen one. 

And Oge Okoye immediately deleted the post.

  Oge Okoye fans blasted her . “Aunty, take it easy with this force fake life you are living. You have disgraced the whole of Nigeria (sic),” an irritated fan said. And the reactions are pouring in.
