Punch reporter allegedly held hostage in COZA

A journalist, Aladunni Adelakun, who works with Punch newspapers, is allegedly being held at the Abuja branch of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA.

According to her friends, Adelakun went to the church to carry out further investigations on Biodun Fatoyinbo .She was ambushed and have taken her to a different room, preventing her from taking part in the church's Sunday service.

Aladunni sent a text message to her friend saying the church members were acting funny.

I felt ridiculed contesting an election against ‘dancer’ Ademola Adeleke- Governor Oyetola

Gboyega Oyetola, the governor of Osun state, says he felt very ridiculed when he contested the state governorship election with  Senator Ademola Adeleke, in September 2018.

Speaking while receiving the leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) led by Yemi Farounbi in his office, Governor Oyetola suggested that Adeleke ought to have been screened out of the governorship race.

“The country’s electoral system is weak, especially regarding the screening of candidates which gave room for somebody like Ademola Adeleke to contest for governorship seat of the state. Sometimes when I sit down and realise that I was actually contesting with Adeleke, who is best at dancing, I felt ridiculed, very ridiculed. It would have been a tragedy for our state if the whole thing had turned the other way round.
“Anybody that is seriously concerned about the development of the state would at least be interested in whoever is going to pilot the affairs of the state.
“One wonders why the country’s electoral laws would have allowed that guy to even contest in the first instance. We don’t have control. Even in the north where we believe they’re disadvantaged in terms of education, they put in the best always. El Chapo sentenced to life imprisonment + 30 years

 

El Chapo, was on Wednesday handed a life imprisonment sentence, ending his criminal reign.  He escaped a Mexican jail through a tunnel in 2015, but was later arrested and extradited to the US in 2017. El Chapo is a former head of the Sinaloa cartel, which officials say was the biggest supplier of drugs to the US.

The 62-year-old drug lord was found guilty of 10 charges, including drug trafficking and money laundering, by a federal court in New York in February. He was handed a life imprisonment sentence on July 17, 2019, he was also given an additional 30 years for unlawful use of firearms. He was ordered to pay $12.6bn (£10bn) in forfeiture.  He denounced his treatment, calling the trial unfair.

The Blast reports that Lauren London  filed to establish guardianship over her 2-year-old son with Nipsey Hussle, Kross Asghedom, in which she said that Kross is reportedly “anticipated to inherit approximately $1 million” from Nipsey Hussle’s estate.

The said documents added that London states that she is already taking care of Kross Asghedom, and if granted sole guardianship she will look out for his “best interests” as he receives the hefty inheritance from his late father. She also reportedly wants to be his guardian so that she can continue to participate in any ongoing legal matters with Nipsey’s estate and probate on his behalf. The documents see her list Emani Asghedon, Nipsey’s 10-year-old daughter with Tanisha Foster, as Kross’ relative.

In her latest interview with Okay Africa, the Afro House singer, has a list of awaiting foreign collaborations with both Drake and Timbaland.
Speaking about how she met Timbaland, the singer explained that legendary record producer, commented on her photo on social media and she followed up with him via Direct Message (DM), where they discussed working on a musical project together.
Niniola said having the ‘legends’ hit her up on social media meant a lot to her. “It meant a lot to me, because when you see legends like that who have achieved so much appreciating your music, what else can you do but be grateful?”
