#jaiyeorie Johnny Depp's ex-partner Vanessa Paradis has said he is a 'kind, attentive, generous and non-violent person and father', according to court documents in his libel claim.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star is suing the Sun newspaper's publisher, News Group Newspapers (NGN), and its executive editor, Dan Wootton, over an April 2018 article which referred to the 56-year-old as a 'wife-beater'.

The article related to allegations made against Mr Depp by his former wife, actress Amber Heard - which the actor strenuously denies.

Nigerian American Mother-Daughter Nurses Uchenna & Ona Onyia are Jimmy Kimmel’s #HealthCareHeroes

Uchenna Onyia started out working as a waitress while studying to become a nurse.
She got her LPN license, her RN license, and then got her Nurse Practitioner license.
Her daughter, Ona, followed in her footsteps, and now they’re both nurses practicing in Arkansas.


The mother-daughter duo decided to travel to New York, the epicenter of the crisis in the US, to help save lives.


Jimmy Kimmel enlisted Courteney Cox to surprise them and the other nurses in their hotel with NY style pizza from F&F pizzeria in Brooklyn.

#jaiyeorie SIR: Idi Amin Dada was the Ugandan military officer who served as the President of Uganda from 1971 to 1979. During his reign as the President, he was ruthless, merciless, in fact, he was deemed to be one of the cruellest presidents in the world history. He ruled Uganda as if he owned the next seconds of his life. His rule entertained political repression, rampant human rights abuses, ethnic persecution, corruption, nepotism, gross economic mismanagement, etc.

Idi Amin carried out tons of legal decisions on his own. He barely took his offenders to Uganda’s courts. No matter how big or small his offender offense was, he had a stool of judgement within his compound. He was the judge to almost all the cases that had to do with him. He judged his offenders as his mood dictated. And afflicted the people who condemned his inhuman dispositions. Some international observers and human rights group estimated that between 100,000 and 500,000 people were killed while he was the President of Uganda. No doubt, his inhuman idiosyncrasy was the reason why he fled Uganda into exile.

The Tottenham midfielder was thumped in the face during the ordeal but did not suffer any serious injuries.

Two males broke into the back of Alli's north London property just after midnight this morning before threatening the Spurs star - who has been isolating with his brother Harry Hickford, their two partners and a long-term friend.

Following a scuffle, during which Alli suffered a minor facial injury, the two culprits proceeded to take various items including jewellery and watches before fleeing.

Alli and the other victims who were downstairs are said to be shaken.

Burundi Orders WHO Official To Leave Country

    

Burundi has expelled the World Health Organization (WHO) representative in the country and three other health experts.
An unsigned letter from the foreign affairs ministry declares the WHO representative Dr Walter Kazadi Mulombo “persona non grata” and gives him 48 hours to leave the country.
The others are Prof Tarzy Daniel, Dr Ruhana Mirindi Bisimwa and Dr Jean Pierre Murunda.
Burundi Foreign Affairs Minister Ezechiel Nibigira did not deny or confirm the letter in a phone interview, but a source at the ministry confirmed its authenticity to the BBC.

According to a well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the tech giant could possibly launch an affordable 10.8-inch iPad in the second half of the year and a new iPad mini that’s between 8.5 and 9 inches in size in the first half of 2021.

“No one should go hungry in these times, so I spent my lockdown doing this,” she said. “I started off this journey with orphanages right before the lockdown but I soon realised that there were several communities desperately in need of food. I’m so proud of the team.

I’ve come a long way from the little girl who was bullied for having really bad eczema, crooked teeth, a ‘lightbulb head’ and ‘football legs’. I never thought I was beautiful as a child and once I hit my early teens, I found myself overcompensating for my lack of self-esteem.
I wanted to please in every way to the detriment of my own happiness…this carried on into my early twenties when after two years of living in Nigeria, I nearly completely lost myself trying to fit in and be understood/liked.
I guess growing up as an only child has partly attributed to my reserved nature. I’m an introvert when you first meet me but an extrovert when comfortable, most times socially awkward on first encounters (first few encounters in some cases lol) but my heart is always in the right place…I’m not perfect.

In a chat with Guardian, Ronke speaks on the pressure to get married as a successful young woman.
She said,Our generation has really been dealt an unfair blow by those before us. Look at Nigeria during the time of our great- grand fathers – our manufacturing industry was booming, we were producing, there was access to land, infrastructure.
I come from a family of manufacturers, my late grandfather made something out of nothing. He wasn’t from a prominent family but he was able to make something for himself and give his kids a life that he didn’t have- guess what? Nigeria gave him that opportunity.
Now, look at the state of the country – the rate of unemployment is outstanding and the young people of our generation cannot catch a break. You know like we don’t have enough to deal with, then comes the pressure for females to be married by a certain age (the dreaded 30). This I have to say is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard.

I guess these questions arise because of the country we live in and the kind of people we are. It’s also something I think we need to look at critically because it seems we are creating more trouble for people, as marriages are now crashing within six months or even less. This is partly because society puts a lot of pressure on people to get married. Shouldn’t we take a step backwards and ask ourselves what we are doing wrong. It’s not about how soon, but how well? I think it’s time we realised that marriage is such a serious thing. Shouldn’t we allow people to make their choices by themselves, without pressure? Parents should stop putting pressure on their children. Many women are divorced now and in some cases, there is serious fight and both of them would be fighting over the custody of the child. We need to start changing the way we look at marriage. It’s important we get married but marry at your own time.
