She is  the founder of Pre-Adult Affairs Organisation (PAAO) an NGO recognized by the United Nations and a former advisor to the Standards Organisation of Nigeria has been disgraced by her landlord.
The landlord of her home at community road off Allen Avenue in Lagos threw out her properties after he dragged he to court and won the case.
Sandra Duru  has allegedly relocated to the US with her children and has abandoned the house since last year.

Brandy, hospitalized after losing consciousness on plane

According to reports, the 38-year-old singer was on a Delta aircraft at Los Angeles International Airport when she passed out, prompting her to be removed from the plane.

TMZ reports:

Brandy Norwood fell into unconsciousness on a Delta flight that was about to take off ... and paramedics rushed to the scene to administer help ...
Law enforcement sources tell us Brandy was on a Delta flight early Friday from LAX to JFK. Before the plane pulled out of the gate Brandy lost consciousness and passengers and flight attendants scrambled to help her.
We're told Delta contacted the L.A. City Fire Dept. and paramedics arrived quickly and removed Brandy from the plane. We're told she regained full consciousness while she was being treated on the jetway.

The paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department arrived on the scene and began assisting her on the jetway, where she eventually regained consciousness, according to the website.

She was reportedly in stable condition when she was transported to a local hospital.

FUTA Satellite Flies Into Space In US

#jaiyeorie University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), will launch a CubeSat, with the code name NigeriaEdusat-1, into space from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, United States.

The Nigerian Cubesat, is a component of the Birds 1 satellites, comprising of four other CubeSats belonging to Japan, Ghana, Mongolia and Bangladesh. They will be launched from the SpaceX Falcon9 Rocket.

According to a statement from the Head, Media and Protocol Unit of the university, Mr. Adegbenro Adebanjo, the university hopes to make satellite technology popular “among members of staff and students of the university for the purpose of research, resources and environmental management and sustainable socio-economic development of the nation.’’

The statement read in part, “The Nigerian CubeSat is designed, built and owned by The Federal University of Technology, Akure in collaboration with the National Space Research and Development Agency, Nigeria, and the Kyushu Institute of Technology Japan. Mr. Ibukun Adebolu of FUTA’s Department of Mechanical Engineering is the representative of Nigeria on the project. It is the first ever university satellite to be launched in Nigeria. The CubeSats will be launched and docked to the International Space Station where the satellites will be deployed into lower orbit during the last week of June 2017.

“The satellite technology development in the long run shall have spillover effects on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education that is an essential tool for a country industrial development.’’

On her bad habits: Hmm, bad habits? I am not sure they are up to 3. I want to smile less. YES. Because I smile a lot and people sometimes tend to see that as a weakness.

On her rise to stardom: Music was never part of the big picture until Project Fame. I’d always seen myself as a broadcaster. I wanted to be on the radio. I just wanted to gain some experience. I wanted to meet people because prior to that time, I was always home. I just wanted to go out and talk to new people. That was the motive behind it.

On her signature haircut: First of all, only my sister touches and makes my hair and at some point, she had to travel and then I tried to make my hair somewhere else with other people but my hair began to fall off. So I thought to myself. I need to cut this hair. I also wanted a different look.
I remember the first time I cut my hair. The moment I did and I had a shoot, I was almost crying like -oh my God, I’m bald- but immediately I took the pictures, I just fell in love and ever since, I’ve been rocking it.


Nigerian singer-songwriter and project fame West Africa 3rd edition winner, Chidinma Ekile, popularly known by her stage name Chidinma, is the latest cover star for Vibe.ng Magazine.
The 26-year-old opened up on her music life, Flavour, her journey to stardom and more.

Her stormy days and how she weathers them…
November 2013 was not necessarily the best of months for Chidinma. An explicit sextape of an unknown guy and a girl who shared a striking resemblance with Ms Kedike, had hit the internet hard. Tongues wagged and opposing groups formed on social media; arguing and analyzing if she was the one or not. Although she never esperred it, she didn’t let it faze her too much.
“I wasn’t expecting it, I mean, I knew something was going to come up sometime but not that early and definitely not something that huge but yeah, I saw it as one of those things.

I WAS SAD. I WAS LIKE -WHO DID THIS TO ME? WHO DID I OFFEND THAT HAS REFUSED TO FORGIVE ME?

I remember talking to Sound Sultan and he was like welcome to the industry.” She mimics his voice while chuckling in between her sentence.
Following when she spoke up about the incident, news that made rounds in the media claimed she said she was still a virgin. In curiosity, I ask if that sexual status has changed. She replies in comic confusion.
“I don’t even know where that came from. I never told anyone if I was a virgin or not.”
When asked how she handles her rough patches, she reveals the only being she takes her situations to.

“I JUST PRAY. I FOCUS ON GOD BECAUSE IN HIM LIES MY SAFETY. I’M GUARANTEED THAT IN HIM, LIES MY SANITY. SO WHATEVER IT IS THAT I AM GOING THROUGH THAT LOOKS LIKE IT MIGHT BE TAKING TOO LONG, OR IS NEVER GOING TO END, OR IS TOO BIG, I JUST GO TO HIM.”

Men and how she likes them…not
If you have intentions of trying to kick it with Chidinma, here’s a cheat code for you. She cannot stand men with bad breath and if you’re a talkative, you are very likely to tick her off.
Quite an alarming number of men are romantically attracted to her. The other day, it was Lil Kesh telling us why she would make a perfect wife for him.
Confirming that she is in the know of her widely perceived girl-next-door vibe, she hints her unavailability.

“IT’S A GOOD THING THAT EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE WITH CHIDINMA BUT I DON’T THINK CHIDINMA WANTS TO BE WITH ANYBODY RIGHT NOW”

She adds that she has been proposed to a gazillion times but she is just not ready yet.
Switching the focus to her much talked about affiliation with the baby boy of indigenous Afro-highlife –Flavour, she jumps at the question like she’s been waiting for it.

Chidinma: (Interrupts with vehement passion) and people will think that for a very long time. Trust me, we have such a beautiful chemistry. Our working relationship is awesome. I can tell you that for a fact. It’s so beautiful and it is very stress-less. When we are in the studio, a lot of things happen. A lot of magic happens. We make magic. It’s just natural. I don’t even know where it came from.

Halima Aden Is The 1st Muslimah Model To Wear A Hijab On The Cover Of Vogue!

Halima became famous after becoming the first contestant to wear a hijab and burkini during the Miss Minnesota USA pageant in November 2016. She’s being on the cover of CR Fashion Book and walked in the Yeezy’s Season 5 show in February 2017.

In a video posted on Vogue Arabia’s Instagram, Halima said:

“Every little girl deserves to see a role model that’s dressed like her, resembles her or even has the same characteristics as her. I think beauty’s for everyone and everyone can look beautiful, you just have to be confident.”

Nigerian Senate confirms appointment of 15 RECs

#jaiyeorie The Senate on Thursday, June 1, confirmed the appointment of 15 officials as Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The nominees were cleared by the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services and the Code of Conduct Bureau, according to Senator Suleiman Nazif, the chairman of the committee.

 

He said that the remaining 12 nominees were still under screening by the panel. The Senate President, Bukola Saraki complimented the work of the chairman and hopes the officials perform by improving the Electoral Process.

#jaiyeorie Promasidor Nigeria Limited  held the second edition of the ‘Loya Swim Meet,’ a swimming competition for Secondary School students in Nigeria last Saturday.


The Loya Swim Meet is part of Promasidor’s efforts at promoting and enhancing talents in swimming among children.

  17 secondary schools participated in the competition which was held at the Grange School at Harold Shodipo Crescent, Ikeja, where cash prizes of over One Million Naira and other consolation prizes were won.

Schools that participated in the “Loya Swim Meet” competition include Grange School; The Bells Comprehensive School; Greenville School; Grace High School; Halifield Schools; Honeyland College; Queensland Academy; Avicenna International School;  Juiliard Academy; Corona Secondary School; Greensprings School;Straitgate College; Chrisland Schools; and Supreme Educational Foundation School.Others include Children’s International School; Lagos Preparatory School;  and Emerald High School.

Grange School came in first winning cash prizes of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira in the 25 metres freestyle; 50 metres freestyle as well as the 100 metres freestyle relays in the boys and girls categories.
