Artiste Manager Who Was Sacked By Olamide Makes Revelations On Lil Kesh, Others
=
Wale Applause, an artiste manager, has released an exposé about his time in the employ of Lil Kesh, an artiste formerly signed to YBNL.
He also revealed that Olamide Adedeji, YBNL head honcho, sacked him over a Twitter rant in defence of Lil Kesh.
In a lengthy article, Applause said the aim of his expose is to “pass a message to all new artistes”, urging them to “never bite the hand that fed you”.
He wrote in part: “For the first time, let me say this, I gave over 2 years of my life to Lil Kesh, God used me and Olamide to make him a star.
“I remember well when I will put all my friends on the road, all the way from Sango to Elegushi to push Shoki. God bless my friend Dj Consequence, he knows the story.
“There were many days I had to sleep in my rickety Honda, days my friends Aspen and the gang will go to the club to spend money just so Shoki can be played, those days when all that mattered to me was raising a king, Alas, HE SACKED ME.”

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) says it plans to sell Polaris Bank within two years.
Ahmed Kuru, chief executive officer, AMCON, said this in an interview with Bloomberg in Lagos.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had revoked the operating licence of Skye Bank in September for failing to meet capital and liquidity requirements.
Polaris Bank was subsequently approved as a bridge bank to take on the assets and liabilities of Skye Bank.
He said the agency has met with the management of Polaris Bank and will sell the financial institution in less than two years.
Kuru added that the authorities intervened in the Skye Bank issue because of “a lot of systemic issues”, including saving more than 5,000 jobs and almost N1 trillion in deposits.
He said AMCON will advertise for financial advisers for the sale of Polaris Bank after an investigation into the cause of its capital and liquidity challenges.
“The divestment must be quick. It’s a very big bank and if you allow anything to happen to it, it will affect some other financial institutions,” Kuru said.
“Because we have put a lot of money there, where we find out that something wrong has been done, I can assure you that people will be held responsible.”
Kuru said AMCON, established in 2010 to buy bad debts, had set a 2023 deadline to dissolve its operations, even as it is still struggling to recover non-performing loans.

The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has explained that he may not honour invitation to attend the inauguration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi because of the erratic nature of politicians.
The Governor added that he had promised to appear at the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) on October 16, which he said coincided with day of the swearing in.
The governor also advised that whoever emerges Speaker in the state House of Assembly should work for the progress of the state.
Fayemi had on Wednesday disclosed that Fayose was specially being expected at his swearing in on Tuesday, saying he is free to attend the ceremony as Ekiti leader.
Speaking at a press conference in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, Fayose said the EFCC may have the opportunity of harassing him if he reneged on his promise to appear before it next Tuesday.
“Politicians are erratic people, if I should attend the programme, some politicians may use the chance to harass me even when they are not sent by Fayemi.
“This will further destroy relationship. Issues between me and Fayemi is not personal. I have been cooperating with the committee set up by Fayemi on this transition
“Again, I have to be in EFCC office in Abuja on Tuesday. But let me say clearly that I am ready to appear before any Panel set up by incoming government to probe my administration”, he said.
Fayose stated that he has not committed Ekiti to any debt, either by way of bond or bank loans since he took over in 2014.
” I Don’t Know One Single Woman Who Wants To Be Famous For Having Been Assaulted” – Chimamanda Adichie On #Metoo (Video)
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie spoke at the Frankfurt book fair and touched on the #MeToo movement.
Adichie said at the opening of the world’s biggest publishing event:
All over the world today women are speaking up. Their stories are still not really heard.
Women are still invisible. Women’s experiences are still invisible.
A year after the #MeToo movement went viral and ignited a global discussion about sexual harassment, Adichie said there was much work left to be done.
It is time for us to pay more than lip service to the fact that women’s stories are for everyone.
We know from studies that women read books by men and women. But men read books by men. It is time for men to read women.
In a thinly veiled reference to US judge Brett Kavanaugh’s controversial confirmation to the Supreme Court despite accusations of sexual misconduct, Adichie slammed the tendency not to believe victims of such assaults.
She said:
We seem to live in a world where many people believe large numbers of women can simply wake up one day and make up stories about having been assaulted.
I know many women who want to be famous. I don’t know one single woman who wants to be famous for having been assaulted.

Turkey Football Star Turan Probed Over ‘Fight With Singer’
Istanbul prosecutors have opened an investigation after Turkish football star Arda Turan, currently on Barcelona’s books, was reportedly involved in a fight with a Turkish pop star in which he broke the singer’s nose.
Turan Turan, who is this season playing for Istanbul side Basaksehir while on loan from Barcelona, was summoned to give a statement to Istanbul police over the fight with singer Berkay Sahin, state-run news agency Anadolu reported. The Hurriyet daily said he was released after giving a statement to police in questioning that lasted for three hours.
Turkish media said that Turan became involved in the fight earlier this week with Sahin outside a nightclub in Istanbul that ended with the singer’s nose broken. In a bizarre sequence of events, Turan then went to the hospital where the singer was being treated clutching a gun and begging to be shot and forgiven, the Haberturk daily said.
The attacking midfielder has for years been Turkey’s best known footballer and is a supporter of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. But he has become notorious for poor behaviour both on and off the field. He was banned for a record 16 games by the Turkish football authorities in May after he shoved and verbally abused a referee in a game for Basaksehir.
Real Madrid Says It Will Sue Over Ronaldo ‘Rape’ Saga Report
Real Madrid reveal it had filed a lawsuit against a Portuguese newspaper that wrote the Spanish giants pushed Cristiano Ronaldo to hush up an alleged rape case.
Real said it had taken legal action against Correio da Manha after the paper reported Wednesday that “Real Madrid pressured him to sign” a non-disclosure accord and pay compensation to his accuser, Kathryn Mayorga. “Real Madrid has absolutely no knowledge of any of the information that the newspaper published with regard to the player Cristiano Ronaldo, and therefore the club could not have taken action on a matter of which it had no knowledge,” the club said in a statement.
Ronaldo, 33, who left Real Madrid over the summer to join Italian champions Juventus in deal worth 100 million euros, has been in turmoil since a case involving rape allegations against him, dating back to 2009, was reopened by Las Vegas police last week. The case was originally closed after Ronaldo signed a confidentiality agreement in 2010 with Mayorga, a former model now aged 34, who received a pay-off in return for her silence.
Mayorga alleged that she had been raped on June 13, 2009, just days after Ronaldo had signed a contract with Real Madrid in a mega transfer deal from Manchester United. The Portuguese newspaper reported that Real, wishing to avoid scandal, pressed Ronaldo to pay compensation to Mayorga to hush up the affair.
Davido and Chioma’s Relationship Hit Rocks After Allegedly Impregnating Another Lady
According to reports, Davido and Chioma’s relationship has hit rocks after he allegedly impregnated another lady.
TheCable Lifestyle has reported that the much-celebrated relationship of David ‘Davido’ Adeleke and Chioma Avril Rowland is in troubled waters.
According to the media platform, the lovers are said to be having incessant disagreements over alleged infidelity on the part of the superstar.
Their disagreement recently reached a head when Chioma confronted the singer over allegations of impregnating yet another woman.
Before their relationship entered a rough patch, the pair was inseparable, often sharing pictures of their trips around the world.
Eagles’ Rohr Warns Coach’s Departure May Motivate Libya
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr believes the resignation of Libya coach Adel Amrouche could motivate their rivals even more ahead of a crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier . Amrouche quit as Libya coach just days before the clash in Uyo, southern Nigeria, over unpaid wages.
“The coach can change, but the players and his assistants are still there, so it won’t be an easy game because they changed the coach,” Rohr said. “Sometimes it’s even more difficult when a new coach joins the team because the players then want to show what they can do.”
Israel-based midfielder John Ogu said the Super Eagles are more concerned with winning the two games against the north Africans than on the issue with their coach. “We won’t be carried away by their problems,” he said.
Roger Federer added his heft to the growing debate around the controversial new-format Davis Cup, sayingthat “this was not designed for me”.
The inaugural Davis Cup finals are slated for a week in Madrid in November 2019 as part of a revamp to the competition, but it has been contentious with players.
Alexander Zverev, the world number five, said at the Shanghai Masters that he will not compete in the men’s team event because it comes at the end of a long season. Third-ranked Novak Djokovic agreed on Thursday that the timing was “really bad” and he also looks unlikely to feature.
And then Federer, the 20-time Grand Slam champion, added his voice to the debate when quizzed after beating Roberto Bautista Agut to reach the Shanghai quarter-finals. “No, I highly doubt it, of course.
We’ll see what happens,” said the 37-year-old, who has been carefully managing his schedule since 2017 to wring the most out of his ageing body. “I don’t think this was designed for me, anyhow. “This was designed for the future generation of players.”
Djokovic said that he is backing the rival ATP World Team Cup, set to take place weeks after the Davis Cup finals, at the start of the 2020 season. The 31-year-old said there was “confusion” with the two competing events coming so close together and being so similar. “I just feel like the date of the Davis Cup is really bad, especially for the top players,” said Djokovic, echoing the strong sentiments of Zverev a day earlier.
Boxing In Nigeria Needs More Promoters, Official Says
Rafiu Ladipo, the President of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C), on Thursday in Lagos said more promoters were needed to contribute to the boxing sport’s development in Nigeria. Ladipo told Newsmen he was however pleased with latest developments in boxing as the sport was gradually getting the attention it deserves. Ladipo said the upcoming boxing reality show, “Rumble in the Box’’, was an example of latest positive developments in the sport in Nigeria.
“It is good. `Rumble in the Box’ which is set to come up in January will put boxing in Nigeria on another level. “I must commend the person who brought up the idea, Mansa Musa Promotions, for the initiative to develop the youths through their hard-earned funds. “This is what we want for boxing as we have continued to keep our doors open to promoters and sponsors of boxing,’’ he said. Ajibade Olajoku, the Chief Executive Officer of Mansa Musa Promotions, told Newsmen that the boxing reality show would have 24 male boxers and 16 female boxers competing.
He said the whole target of the event is to add value to boxing and make international boxing stars because it would be transmitted live on television. Olajoku added that the best female and male boxers going by the highest number of votes would get the opportunity to fight in the world championship belts.

Normani on ‘Love Lies’ Going Number One, Her Relationship Style, Writing for Women + video
Instead of playing to her obvious strengths, Normani took the road less travelled with her scintillating solo debut, “Love Lies.” She not only released a slow R&B ballad in the dead of winter; but she recruited the genre’s prodigal son, five-time Grammy nominee Khalid, to sing with her. If there was ever a time to call in a favor from DJ Khaled or Pitbull, this would’ve been it.
But Normani held her own, and so did “Love Lies.” After spending a record-breaking 24 weeks on the Billboard Pop Songs radio airplay chart, the lovelorn scorcher slow-burned all the way to Number One — a first for both Normani and Khalid. “Love Lies” started as a bit of an outlier, but it latched onto a rising wave of window-steaming hits from heavyweights like Drake to newcomers like Ella Mai. More than radio popularity, the success of “Love Lies” gave Normani the artistic credibility a pop group ex-pat needs to stand out as a soloist.
“It’s just been a real pivotal moment for me,” Normani tells Rolling Stone. She’s sitting with her mom before taking a red-eye from Los Angeles to Rihanna’s Diamond Ball in New York City. There will be dress waiting for her in the morning, she says, but so long as she meets Rihanna, she doesn’t seem too concerned about the details. More than anything else, she seems excited, like she’s finally able to shine at a party she’s been attending for years.
When you sing “Love Lies” is there a particular experience or person you’re thinking about? For sure. This has happened multiple times. For me, I know that there’s been plenty of times I’ll either be interested in someone, and it’s like, “okay is this going to be reciprocated?” Just dealing with that uncertainty…
Are you someone who likes the chase? I feel like I’m the one that kind of lays back. I like to read people and try to figure out their intentions first, even though you can never really be too sure. I think it’s important for women to protect their hearts, protect themselves, because when we fall, we definitely fall. Which is a really beautiful thing — but it should only be received by someone very special.
Have you been able to have a long-term relationship? My longest was two years.

Kerry Washington is the latest cover star for Marie Claire‘s Power Issue. For the cover feature, she talks life after tv series Scandal, heading back to Broadway, motherhood and the Time’s Up movement. Read excerpts below:
On the word Power: Honestly, I think about power as more of an internal phenomenon, I tend to think about empowerment for myself so that I have the courage and ability to act on the ideologies and priorities that resonate with me. I’ve always wanted to cultivate a sense of empowerment within myself without seeking approval from outside sources, which is hard to do as an actor, which is part of why producing is so important and which is where some of my freedom, or learning, to take that sense of freedom and bring it to a larger audience and larger space has a lot to do with having my employer be a black woman.

According to him, he attempted his first suicide at 17. Read as he posted on Facebook below…
“This month 14 years ago, I was at one of my lowest in life (many came along after that). I was hopeless and helpless. I was also contemplating suicide. I was 29. 12 years early as a 17yrs old boy, I had attempted my first suicide, all due to my sexuality.I am still broken, though I am healing. I still feel that I am worthless and useless a lot of time. I still feel I have no purpose in life, despite what people see. My struggles with mental health never went away, I just became stronger.
Tomorrow is coming out day and we know being LGBT is one of the reasons people like me suffer depression from childhood. Please as we celebrate Mental Health Day, a day before Coming our day, let’s show some love by reaching out and spreading positive message.“

Cardi B talks Motherhood, Marriage & Career in W Magazine’s The Art Issue
Bodak Yellow, Cardi B is the latest covergirl of W Magazine. She gets candid about joining the Bloods gang, becoming a stripper & getting her breasts done.
Cardi talks keeping her pregnancy, life as a young mother, marrying offset rappers, and how they work with their very tight schedules without letting out media reactions and how rumors have impacted the relationship them.
On Pregnancy, Childbirth shortly after breaking into the industry
When I got pregnant, I was fucking freaking out. Everybody around me was like, ‘No, this never happened before. Every artist that had a baby, they already put in years in the game. This is your first year. You’re going to mess it up. How are you going to make it?’
Four weeks after giving birth, I was supposed to start rehearsals for a fall tour with Bruno Mars, and I couldn’t even squat down.
People don’t really talk about what you go through after pregnancy. Like, they don’t tell you that you get stitches down there or that your first two weeks you’re constipated. Or that you get contractions because of breastfeeding. I wasn’t expecting that. When Kulture was born, I felt like I was a kid again; everything was making me cry, and I needed a lot of love. I be feeling like, Do babies know who’s they mom? I feel like babies love whoever is giving them the milk, and I want to give the milk the whole time. I want her to know me. I feel better now, but sometimes I just feel so vulnerable.”

Dangote said at the Africa Summit, during the 5th annual Financial Times Summit in Africa, "one-on-one conversation" that the key to Africa's growth and strength is the development of the regional market, saying "African regional markets must work".
Dangote said that Africans must patronize the African markets, which is why the African Free Trade Agreements are a direction to be strengthened.
An example of his experience was the Dangote Group President's case in the neighboring country of Benin, where the country continues to import cement from China, while its Nigerian factory is only 35 miles from the border.
“We need to trade with ourselves,” Dangote stated as he spoke glowingly about the prospect of an African economy, the free trade agreement, and the availability of huge raw materials to attract investors.
Prompted by the Editor of the Newspaper, Lionel Barber to speak about difficult markets in Africa, Dangote dismissed the issue of difficulty and re-affirmed: “our aim is to always provide jobs and worth. As an African investor I don’t want any investor anywhere in Africa to have a bad experience.”

Man Humiliates Girlfriend After Catching Her With Man In Public
A man has taught his girlfriend a bitter lesson, shaming her publicly when she said that she was cheating.
Incident event
A lover of jealousy shocked many people when she lowered her girlfriend after she had seen the other man in public. According to reports, a woman's boyfriend, who had previously suspected that she was deceiving her, met her with a man who had his handbag and decided to humiliate her.
She stood facing her girlfriend and an argument was raised between the couple. After some time he decided to pull his house, but the lady refused to go with him and sat on the floor.
Then he collected his cell phone and pushed it to the floor to allow him to bring home, but it turned out to be incorrect, as the woman noticed that she was not going anywhere and the boy should leave him alone.
As the video was seen, the other man (who kept the lady's bag) tried the situation calmly and prevented him from pulling in if other passers-by watched and did nothing.
The boy later collected his jacket and decided to leave.
Zodwa said she had no problem with Amanda but baby girl needs to wise up and get working if she wants to take her crown.
“Every girl has to do what they have to do, but if she wants to replace me she has to work hard. Everyone can talk but they must show they are making money.”
She said that “everyone has an ass” and is free to dance but only those with “brains” could make it into a career like she had.
“If she can go to Dubai, America, Australia, London twice, then we will see. Everyone likes to talk before they do.”
She said she was flattered by those who were hitting moves like her.
“If she is copying me then I am her role model. That is it!”

#BankyW #TEDxLagos Talk on Making Your Voice count in your Community
Banky W gave comprehensive speech on how citizens can be more involved in building a state.
He explains that, although it is difficult enough for functional democracy to function as it should, it is even more difficult to do something in an inadequate democracy.
For those who are not involved, we give them powers that try to circumvent democratic processes and institutions and only increase dysfunction, he adds, on the contrary, that it is the citizen's duty to take part.
The YES/NO singer touches on a number of ways including making our voices count in our community.
