See excerpts of the interview below:

Taking on big ideas requires a lot of energy physically, mentally, and emotionally – in all ways. How do you stay motivated to keep going?

Meditation, prayer and counsel keep me going. I’m very aware that what I’ve been called to do is bigger than me. If it was only about me, I could wake up one day and decide to tap out but meditation keeps me constantly reminded that there are other people’s livelihoods and breakthroughs attached to what I’ve been called to do and that keeps me motivated.

What was a significant highlight and major lesson learned from the experience of getting Nollywood to Hollywood via the Essence Festival?

A significant highlight of bringing Nollywood to Hollywood through the Essence Festival was the recognition of Nollywood’s impact and potential on the global stage. This collaboration not only showcased the talent and creativity of African filmmakers but also emphasized the demand for diverse storytelling in the entertainment industry.

The more events like this are organized, the more we see the importance of cross-cultural collaboration and representation showing that when industries come together to share resources, expertise, and stories, they can break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create a more inclusive entertainment landscape that resonates with audiences worldwide.

Can you describe in your own words who you think Today’s Woman is?

Today’s Woman is self-aware. She’s a water walker; with her nothing is impossible. She understands that she’s a piece of a larger puzzle and occupies her space gracefully and with no apologies. Today’s woman deftly establishes systems and structures that enable her to maintain a seamless balancing act in her life.

Primeboy’s fight with Mohbad RESULTED in his death – Police

#jaiyeorie

According to the Nigerian police, the injuries that late artist Mohbad suffered during a fight with his boyhood buddy Ibrahim Owoduni, alias Primeboy, is what ultimately led to his death.

Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of police for Lagos State, said this at a news conference on Friday while providing an update on the continuing investigation into Mohbad's death. “Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owoduni aka Primeboy is a childhood friend of Mohbad. He attended the show at Ikorodu in Mohbad’s company on 10th September 2023,” Mr Owohunwa said.

The police commissioner further said Primeboy is held as a suspect because the late musician died in the process of treating an injury he sustained while fighting Primeboy. “At the end of the show, Mohbad and Ibrahim were engaged in a violent fight during which Mohbad was injured. The management of the injury subsequently resulted in his death. So he (Primeboy) is being treated as a suspect,” Mr Owohunwa said. Primeboy was sought for by the police on Wednesday after they said he ignored their request to speak with them about Mohbad's death.

Primeboy, however, turned himself in to the police on Thursday, claiming to be on the run and to have no knowledge of his boyhood friend's passing. ✍️“feel free to disagree in the comments 👀 ☝️👆 & let JAIYEORIE know what U think!” 📎

Venita’s intelligence drew me to her – Adekunle

#jaiyeorie

Adekunle Olopade, an ex-Big Brother Naija All-Star, admitted he was initially intrigued to Venita's brains before going further.

The sapiosexual reality star stated that his goal for the second time around in the house was to socialize with more female roommates because he felt lacking in that department the first time around.

In a recent interview with Africa Magic, Bad Boy Deks—as he is affectionately known—confessed that he fell in love with Venita as a result of a joke he said in the House.

He admitted to the show's presenter, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, that he had never intended to date anybody while living in the house, but Venita had won his heart with her sharp mind.

Adekunle said: “To be honest, I didn’t focus on getting into a relationship, but I know that in my previous season I didn’t interact with women much. So my plan this time around was to interact with more women.

“I noticed Venita in the first week. I threw a joke in the air and she was the only one that caught it. I actually like intelligent women. I was like I’m going to pay extra attention to her. And she was very different from the rest of the housemates. So, I saw an opportunity to get to know her.

“When I was the Head of House, I was the only one upstairs. And I was like I’m not going to sleep alone this time around. So, I took her up.”

He said he learnt a lot about the dynamics of relationship from his affair with Venita in the House.

I got expelled from Catholic convent - Beverly Osu

#jaiyeorie

The actress Beverly Osu has discussed how she was ejected from a convent after enrolling as a reverend sister while still in high school.

She disclosed this whilst featuring in the latest episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, hosted by actor, Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, aka Taymesa.

She said, however, that the administrators at the school did not use the word "expulsion" specifically; instead, they begged her to carry on God's work elsewhere and never come back.

She said, “Family first said this girl is very stubborn, let us throw her in there and I just said okay.”

“It is secondary school “Daughter of Divine Love” but you register, being a sister or not.

“Na reverend sister they picked for me so I had to follow the path but they they expelled me.

“Till today, I still have small resentment like, ‘why una expel me?’ But then, I used to play secular music, I was the drum prefect and I used to do stage plays.

“Some girls woke up and said after the stage play, they were seeing me in their dreams and I am a witch because I played Lucifer.

“They expelled me because they said I was doing the most with the band, with the stage play, with not sleeping on my bed.

“They asked me to go and continue God’s work somewhere else. They did not want to say it is expulsion but gave me letter never to come back.”
