Whitney Houston's Hologram Performing On 'The Voice'

 

The first performance of Whitney Houston's hologram has  been axed by executors of her estate.

The technology was set to debut on the final of the The Voice in the US on May 23 and 24, with Whitney sharing the stage with one of the show's coaches Christina Aguilera

 

 The executor of Whitney’s estate Pat Houston issued a statement that reads:

"We are so appreciative of the opportunity for the Whitney Houston hologram to appear on NBCs The Voice with a talent pairing as extraordinary as Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston. We were looking to deliver a groundbreaking duet performance for the fans of both artists.

"Holograms are new technology that take time to perfect, and we believe with artists of this iconic caliber, it must be perfect. Whitney’s legacy and her devoted fans deserve perfection. After closely viewing the performance, we decided the hologram was not ready to air. We have much respect and appreciation for Christina, and she was absolutely flawless."

Christina and Whitney sang two songs together in the leaked footage - I Have Nothing and I'm Every Woman. The duet ends with Christina bowing to Whitney who disappears in a cloud of glitter.

You just let me know." So it's this weird, like, reparations moment where the girls get to do what they want to do and the guys get to do what they want to do, but they know what Shonda wants them to do."
2.  Sarah Paulson on (not) fighting the definition of sexy on the set: "I've never been asked to play the [romantic] leading lady without having to be a blonde.... I don't mind it, I like the blond — but to be told that in order to be considered a romantic lady opposite some hunky guy, I need to have long blond hair that looked very L.A. Real Housewives? It does do something to your brain. You go, "Gosh, so the way I came into the world is not as appealing as it would be if I were altered in some way?" That's a funny message to extend to a person. And that's the other thing: I did it. I put the extensions in, I blonded it up."

3.  Jennifer Lopez on unequal treatment of male and female actors that leads to her being called a diva: "I've always been fascinated by how much more well-behaved we have to be than men. I got a moniker of being "the diva," which I never felt I deserved — which I don't deserve — because I've always been a hard worker, on time, doing what I'm supposed to do, and getting that label because you reach a certain amount of success … ... Or even sometimes I felt crippled to voice my opinion, especially because certain directors and the boys' club that they form can make you feel like, "Oh, I can't say anything." I was always fascinated by how I could see [a man] being late or being belligerent to a crew and it being totally acceptable; meanwhile, I'd show up 15 minutes late and be berated. And you watch this happen over and over and over again. Like, we're not allowed to have certain opinions or even be passionate about something, or they'll be like, "God, she's really difficult." It's like, "Am I? Am I difficult because I care?""
4.  Kerry keeping it real on sex in Hollywood: "Part of it for me is the director and the producers and that trust. There have been times in my career where the nudity wasn't about the story, it wasn't about the character, it was just because that shit sells."

5.  Regina on that time she put her foot down on a gratuitous sex scene: "But sometimes you already have the job and the nudity conversation didn't come up until a couple seasons in. And then you get that script and go, "Whoa, oh, hmm …" (Mimics dialing her lawyer). The particular situation that I'm thinking of [on Southland], I didn't feel like [the scene] was honest to the character: If Lydia was going to have sex, I just didn't see her having sex like that. And they got it. They were respectful."
6.  Regina on schooling Hollywood on the fact smart & successful black moms do exist: "Every project I've worked on, as a whole I've learned something — not so much that the character that I'm playing has taught me something, but the people whom I'm working with or the story that's being told has taught me something about people. With American Crime, it was that so many people think that black people can't be elitist, that a black elitist doesn't exist. I'm just surprised how many people are so shocked that Terri [the well-to-do, strict mom to basketball player Kevin, played by Trevor Jackson] actually exists. I'm like, you don't know a Terri? I could show you three. (Laughter.)"

Desamour Production Company hosted media influencers and editors to an exclusive screening of the much anticipated movie ‘Ghana Must Go’ at The FilmHouse Cinemas, Surulere. The romantic comedy is produced by award-winning Ghanaian/Nigerian actress, Yvonne Okoro and set for nationwide release on the 10th of June, 2016.


Directed by multiple award-winning filmmaker, Frank Rajah Arase; Ghana Must Go stars Yvonne Okoro, Kofi Adjorlolo, Ik Ogbonna, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Helen Paul, Ada Ameh and Nkem Owoh (popularly known as Osuofia).

Set in Accra, Ghana, the comedy revolves around two young lovers who are of Nigerian and Ghanaian origin. Yvonne Okoro plays the role of Ama, a London-based Ghanaian woman who brings her Nigerian boyfriend, Chuks (Blossom Chukwujekwu), home to meet her parents much to the displeasure of her wealthy father. Ama’s parents refuse to give their blessing to their union, citing historical happenings between the neighbouring nations as reason for their refusal. The series of events tests the love of the young couple in the most hilarious and unexpected fashion.

Be Inspired Manny Pacquiao Nabs Senatorial Seat in Philippines

Boxing star Manny Pacquiao scored a big political win on Thursday as he was elected into the Philippines Senate. The WBO world welterweight champion was declared among 12 new members of the upper house of Congress by the country's elections commission.
The 37 year-old two-term congressman also said he favours restoring the death penalty for drug-related and other serious crimes.


 "I can focus and discipline myself, the way I did in boxing to help the nation," Pacquiao told reporters, saying, as a new senator, he would push for free education at all levels.

Angie is spilling hot tea. ‘Voice of New York’, and Wendy Williams got into a physical fight.

Angie Martinez, who currently works for Power 105, released her new memoir "My Voice: A Memoir" where she details her days back at HOT 97. She worked for the company for 25 years before leaving in 2014.

In 1997 when Wendy ( started taking jabs at Angie on air and online. Apparently, Wendy took it upon herself to write about one of her co-workers dating rapper Q-Tip on her website. She allegedly wrote, “One of my co-workers is dating Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest. Oh well. I guess some women like men who like men.”

Angie writes,

Everybody was gay to Wendy. Every rapper you could think of in that era, I had heard Wendy Williams call them gay. Not one or two. Like every one of them.

Angie angrily confronted Wendy about the comments and things went south,

I lost my f–king mind. Before I knew it I was swinging at her. It was a quick scuffle. It took only a few seconds for me to realize that she wasn’t really hitting me back — she was just trying to get me off of her.

A co-worker stepped in to break up the fight, which gave Williams a chance to grab a mop to try to defend herself,

She just stood there with it like she wanted to have some sort of sword fight or something. It was actually kind of funny, even in the moment.

Despite their brief altercation, Angie says she’s not bitter at all and even watches Wendy’s talk show,

She has really mastered her lane. I find myself watching and laughing out loud. I don’t have any ill feelings toward her.

In the book, Angie said Wendy would call EVERY rapper gay:

“Everybody was gay to Wendy,” Martinez writes in the book, out Tuesday. “Every rapper you could think of in that era, I had heard Wendy Williams call them gay. Not one or two. Like every one of them.”

 That’s went ISH hit the fan.

Following their scuffle, both ladies were suspended from the station. Angie said she started receiving threats from loyal Wendy listeners that made her feel awful and insecure.

“The truth is that if it wasn’t me it was gonna be somebody else," Angie wrote. “She was disrespectful to so many people all the time.”

While the ladies have not spoken since, Angie said there are no hard feelings towards her former nemesis. She said,

“I watch her TV talk show sometimes and she has really mastered her lane. I find myself watching and laughing out loud. I don’t have any ill feelings toward her.”

FG to Provide 1 Billion Eggs to Children For School Feeding Programme

The federal government has said its would enhance its school feeding programme. Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed,  said, “The first is the employment of 500,000 unemployed graduates, the second is the employment of 100,000 non graduates, technicians and artisans. The third is the one meal a day programme targeting 5.5 million pupils all over Nigeria.
“We have the enterprise scheme which is a system of revolving loan. We are targeting one million market women and men, 460,000 artisans and technicians and 200,000 agricultural workers to be given loans through their cooperatives to start their own businesses. We have the N5,000 conditional cash transfers to one million most vulnerable Nigerians as a first phase. Then finally, we have bursaries, scholarships for all students in Nigeria studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics.”

Wale Fakile, Tells His Own Side of the Story (Photos) #battery

 

TVC presenter, Wale Fakile, whose 'girlfriend' accused him of domestic violence, has responded to the allegations. According to him, Mandy is his ex girlfriend whom he broke up with in 2015. Below is the statement he sent to Sugar Daily.

"I have read all the tirades and accusations levelled against me by Mandy Isaac on Social Media and for posterity and records purposes, I need to state my side of the story. Yes, it is true that we are friends but we stopped dating in June 2015. However, we started again in December 2015.

"Our last date was on Wednesday, May 16th, 2016 in my residence and in spite of Mandy telling me that she had stopped drinking, she requested for alcohol which I did not oblige her. However, I later found out that she had drank 2 cans of Vodka (picture below). I went out to withdraw some money and she stepped out too, after having taking possession of my phone. When I returned, she got back and accused me of talking to ladies and insisted she had to leave that night. I pleaded with her but she said she would leave and I gave her N2,000 as Transport fare. In her semi-nude state, she flared up, demanded for N50,000 and called me unprintable names. Later, she went berserk and started destroying things in my house (See pictures below) before she started rolling herself on the floor.

"I got a call the same night from a female police officer at ketu Police Station  (I was NEVER ARRESTED) who asked that I report at the station that night or the following morning. I could not go to the police station that night because it was already late (some minutes past 11:00pm) but I made sure that I got to the station as early as possible (8:00am). To my surprise she never showed up even after my call at the station.

"It is unfortunate that this happened to me but I am not only a responsible man but I also work in a responsible organisation that values and cherishes its publics. This is a deliberate attempt to frame me and I call on investigative Journalists to go deeper than the story and either vilify me or corroborate my claims."
