In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the Police Recruit actor explained what romance means to him.

He said, “When you talk about romance, the average man thinks of making love to a woman but it is not so. If you are romantic, it constitutes everything that transpires between you and a woman, whether she is your girlfriend or not. I believe that when you are romantic, it means you are caring to an extent that a woman would be willing to stay and play with you even without making love to you, and that is nice. If you are the type of person that has money and you go out to buy something for a lady you stay around, I believe that can be considered romantic. Or if you are invited to a party and you go with a lady, even if you are not married, that can also be considered romantic. Also, if you feel like having sexual intercourse and it’s the same woman that comes to your mind, she may be willing to have it with you. But not that you force her and you think you are being romantic.”

On the most romantic gesture he had ever expressed to a woman, Okafor said, “There was something I did (some time ago) that made people suspect me. I bought a vehicle for a lady and people thought we were intimate. However, there was nothing like that. The girl was actually instrumental to a big deal I was working on which seemed impossible until I got her involved. I don’t even think the car was enough for her, compared to what she did for me.”

Mr Ibu also maintained that his wife had no reservations about his car gift to the said lady. “Of course, I was married with children at that time, and I did not even know the colour of her pant. Usually, I tell my wife whatever I want to do and she understands,” he said.

On what he’s working on at the moment, the actor said he was just recovering from the effects of the poison he was forced to ingest some months ago.

“For the moment, I am not working on anything because I’m still recovering from the poison I was given during the last Christmas in Nnewi, Anambra State. The people who gave me the poison held me down on the floor as if they were handling a cow and forcefully put it in my mouth. I think they were sent by someone.” he said.

Meanwhile, Ibu said he had forgiven those behind the dastardly act. He added, “The perpetrators did not wear masks, so I saw their faces.
One of the boys involved in the act tried to run away but I told him not to. I have forgiven them because God has cured me. A prodigal son becomes a PhD holder, shares his inspirational story

A Nigerian PhD holder has shared his inspirational story just after bagging a PHD university degree from an American university.
Ezekiel Olusola Adekanmbi narrated that he grew up without his father as he died shortly after he was born. He referenced that he became a prodigal son by moving out of their home when he was just 10, sleeping in the markets and sometimes in the mosque or the church beside their house.
He learnt how to play the piano at the age of 14. According to him who bagged a PhD in Chemical Engineering, he gave his life to Christ at that age and his life changed for the better.  Adekanmbi dedicated his certificate to his mother who despite making a profit of N120 ($0.3) per day from her business, trained him and his 4 siblings beyond Secondary School.

Keystone Bank Limited has partnered with “The TunMicro Sickle Cell Foundation”, a UK-based humanitarian organization and ‘Slum2School Africa’ to create awareness about Sickle Cell Disorder (SCD) in Lagos.

According to the lender, the initiative is part of its efforts to commemorate the 2019 World Sickle Cell Day which holds in June.

World Sickle Cell Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2008 in order to increase the awareness about the sickle cell disease and its cure among the common public.

During the week-long awareness and free testing programme, over 700 children benefitted from the initiative held in three communities (Adogbo, Songonro and Migbewe) in Lagos. The children were enlightened on the causes, prevention and efficient management of the disease.

President Donald Trump’s Government cancels automatic citizenship for children of US citizens born abroad, and children of non-citizens born in the US. It will be effective from October 29. A new policy alert released by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services under President Trump's administration, has cancelled automatic citizenship for the children of some US service members and US government employees living abroad and children of non-citizens born in the United States.



Non-citizens must stay for at least 6 weeks in the USA before their children born in the country will be considered citizens.

Reconstruction work to kick start on portions of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway from September 2nd.- FG

Federal Government is set to shutdown a portion of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for reconstruction starting from Monday, September 2nd, 2019.

Motorists commuting the area should begin to replan their route in order to avoid being trapped in gridlock. A side of the road would have been shut, but it was postponed because of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s convention.
 
The failed portion of about 600 metres stretching from the Kara Cattle Market end inward Berger Bus Stop would be completed by the second week of December.  Director of Highways, South West Federal Ministry of Works, Mr Funso Adebiyi, said on Thursday that the target was to complete that critical portion of the road before Christmas when more people would be travelling.

R. Kelly has been locked up in solitary confinement out of fear that he'll be harmed in Gen. Pop. The "I Need An Angel" singer admitted he was happy about being separated from the other inmates out of fear that some of them might retaliate against him. That was in July and a lot has changed since including his stance on being in solitary.

  According to TMZ, the singer is begging the judge to release him from solitary confinement and allow him to join the rest of the inmates in general population in jail. Now, given that he's an accused preying on young girls and a celebrity at that, general population makes him an immediate target. However, he's reportedly willing to take the chance because solitary is taking a toll on his mental and physical health.

A group of Nigerians on Thursday, 29th of August staged a protest at the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa’s capital.

The protesters, mostly victims of xenophobic attacks in South Africa said they are angered by the recent massive looting of foreign-owned shops in the city by some South Africans.

Many of the protesters lamented that they had lost goods and business investments to the looting which occurred on Wednesday at Pretoria business district.Some said their shops were looted and later burnt.

The immediate past senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has described the governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai as a leper, who has been abandoned by friends.

Senator Sani said the governor’s height has been reduced from “dwarf” to a leper and has also been abandoned by President Muhammad Buhari and his men.

The former lawmaker was apparently reacting to a comment credited to governor El-Rufai on Thursday, where he averred that Senator Sani had been reduced to a “blogger” since his defeat by his opponent in the last general elections.

IGP orders security beef-up around worship centres

The Inspector- General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Adamu, has directed commissioners of police across the country to pay special attention to the clergy and increase security around worship centres nationwide.

The Force Public Relation Officer, DCP Frank Mba, announced the decision in a statement in Abuja, saying the directive followed the murder of Rev. Fr. David Tanko by unknown persons in the early hours of Thursday.

Court discharges, acquits Jonathan’s ex-aide, Waripamo Owei-Dudafa of alleged N1.6bn fraud

The Federal High Court in Lagos has discharged and acquitted former President Goodluck Jonathan’s aide, Dr Waripamo Owei-Dudafa of an alleged N1.6billion fraud charge.

In a 190-page judgment, Justice Mohammed Idris held that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to prove any of the 22-count charge beyond reasonable doubt against Owei-Dudafa and a Heritage Bank worker Joseph Iwejuo.

He said the anti-graft agency’s case was “based on suspicions” but that suspicions “cannot take the place of legal evidence”.
