Yesterday,
October 1, 2015, wife of former Governor of Oyo State Senator Rashidi
Ladoja, Alhaja Mutiat Olayinka Ladoja turned 60. The former Oyo First
Lady however chose to celebrate the day in a very unique way. She spent
the day doing prayers at Kahaba, the cuboid building at the center of
Islam’s most sacred mosque, Al-Masjid al-Haram, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
It is the most sacred site in Islam. We hear it has been Alhaja Ladoja’s
long-time dream to spend her 60th birthday at the holy site. Yesterday
too, her daughter, Jumoke put together a prayer session in her honour in
Ibadan where she invited few friends and family members.
The
beautiful, black beauty is a woman of style and she has remained one of
the powerful women in Oyo State. Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja is a lover of
politics and despite not being in office, her pet-project, which she
started in 2004, Idera De Foundation is still very much in place as she
is naturally passionate about the disabled and less-priviledge in the
society. This soft spoken woman is blessed with a glowing skin, a nice
stature, and she has been married to Se 30-year marriage to ex-Gov.
Ladoja.
It has been a good time for Alhaja Ladoja as she marks this milestone
age. Just in July, the wife of her son, Abayomi Folami who son got
married in Khartoum, Sudan last year was delivered of a baby. Engineer
Abayomi Folami married his Sudanese heartthrob, Ala Osman at a grand
wedding. The event spanned two days. The wedding Fathia was held on
Friday, May 23, at the Sayeda Sahori Mosque, Al Riyadh, Khartoum, while
the wedding Wolimat will took place on Saturday, May 24, at Al Salam
Rotana Hotel.
Meanwhile,
CityScoop sources informed that a grand birthday party to be held in
Ibadan is being planned for Alhaja Ladoja upon her return from Saudi
Arabia.
Speaking about her over 30 years marriage to Ladoja in a recent
interview, Mutiat said being contended has sustained the marriage. “To
God be the glory. When God has hands in something, when you give your
life to your God, whatever comes out of your life, you believe in him,
things will be easy for you, then I take life as it comes. Today, if I
happen to see Yam and Egg, I will eat it and if Garri and Sugar comes
tomorrow, I take it with love. Contentment has sustained my marriage”.
“(Before
becoming first lady) I was a full time house wife. If you marry your
own husband, and you are contented with whatever your husband gives you,
it is enough for you.
I can say I am lucky, but I have never done any job whatsoever before.
Taking care of one’s children, husband, and homefront is a job on its
own. So, for me, housewife doesn’t interprets joblessness, some
housewives are doing so much rigours than working class women, and mine
involves taking care of the family and community. So, it is not an easy
task”, she said.
