Covid-19: What Pastor Sam Adeyemi said about governments lifting lockdown

Sam Adeyemi, the general overseer of Daystar Christian Centre, has spoken about the federal government has been relaxing lockdown across the country after weeks of restriction caused by the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

In a tweet on Tuesday, June 2, the man of God said that governments are lifting lockdown for various political and economic reasons.

Pastor Adeyemi also prayed that the virus is gone soon. He added that in the meantime, it is important we all “think with clarity, make sound decisions, act responsible, be prayerful, and stay safe”.

Meanwhile,  earlier reported that the pastor commented about the different issues surrounding the shutting down of churches during Covid-19 pandemic.

The cleric in an Instagram live video with Poju Oyemade, the senior pastor of The Covenant Nation, said that he had to study the 1918 pandemic called Spanish flu and how it affected everybody.
In answering a question from Oyemade on the way the situation can be handled by a leader, he said that the leader’s role is to give the right perspective.
“I went online, there was a pandemic 100 years ago, let me go and study it and check it out, because the interpretation that people are giving to this pandemic, they range from one extreme to the other,” he said.
During the live interview, he laughingly said that there is a quarrel on social media presently which ranges from 5G to 10G and other issues.
The pastor said that he had to buy a research material he saw online because he needed more knowledge on the 1918 pandemic.
“I found a research article by a history lecturer at the University at Birnin Kebbi. Beautiful research!
“I had to buy it. But I was happy buying it, because when I read it, it was amazing, it dug into the British archives, all the records that the colonial officers kept,” he said.


He said unlike today when air travel is the popular means of international transportation, sea travel was the one that spread influenza in 1918.
Some of the things Adeyemi said he got from the materials were the names, the dates of arrival and how the flu spread in the country.
“The ships that brought sick people into the Lagos port; I got the names, the dates they arrived, how it spread in Nigeria.
“I’d tell you the one that I saw and almost screamed, they closed churches, they closed mosques, they shut down schools, they shut down markets in 1918,” the pastor said.  📎 The key is : Learn how to BE HAPPY BY YOURSELF FIRST. Neymar Faces Criminal Complaint Over anti-gay Comment

  

Brazil and PSG star man, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, is facing criminal complaints over an anti-gay comment on social media.

A gay right activist in his home country, filed the suit against the football star, after Neymar called his mother’s boyfriend an anti-gay slur in comments leaked to the media.
Activist Agripino Magalhaes, said on Instagram that he planned to press charges against Neymar and his friends for “criminal homophobia, hate speech and death threats” over the comments.
Making the confirmation to AFP, the Sao Paulo prosecutor’s office confirmed that it had received the complaint, which it must now examine to decide whether to open a case against the 28-year-old.
In the audio recording, Neymar, can be heard using slurs against his mother’s new boyfriend, Tiago Ramos, as he and his friends discuss a supposed fight between the couple.

New NBC code will kill local contents – iRokoTV boss Jason Njoku

 IrokoTV, Jason Njoku, has described the 6th Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Code as a regulation that arose from the incompetence of dark forces and will kill the country’s pay television industry.
The code was released to the public by the NBC on 27 May.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Njoku, said certain provisions of the code, which prohibit exclusivity, compel content sub-licensing to competitors, and empower the NBC to determine sub-licensing fees will discourage investment in local content production.

A Nigerian Twitter page dedicated to music updates, @Naija_Charts shared a list of ‘Top 5 most streamed (viewed) Nigerians of all time” on Monday, June 8.

According to the list, Davido came first with over 606 million views; Tekno came second with over 572 million views; Burna Boy came third with over 504 million views.

Also, Wizkid came fourth with over 478 millions views while Nigerian gospel singer, Sinach came fifth with over 471 million views. The rating was based on all-time accumulated number of audiovisual streams on the official YouTube channel of each celebrity listed.

Videos uploaded on the the Record Label’s channel were not counted.

A three minutes video showed a set of workers struggling to push back the plane in view to position it for a reverse angle.

The airport officials could be spotted with their uniforms pushing the airplane with all their strength.
Reacting to the video, Nigerians expressed their disappointment, with most of them stating that they are now scared to enter any airplane in Nigeria.
Some also expressed their annoyance with the government, insisting that the government is not using the funds for the necessary purposes.

NPFL Clubs To Pay N2.5 Million Per Game For Tests

Nigeria Professional Football League clubs will spend a staggering N2.5m for COVID-19 tests per game as they gear up towards finding a way to complete the season.
We understands that the tests will be crucial in ensuring the NPFL football season can restart amid concerns over the players’ safety.
Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, in an interview with Brila FM, said players and coaches of all NPFL clubs must undergo tests before the league could resume.

George Floyd: Athletes to be Banned at Tokyo Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has reiterated that athletes are still banned from protesting at the Olympic Games, SportingLife reports.
This follows the decision of other sports, to allow protests following George Floyd’s death in police custody.

Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor has asked Igbosere High Court in Lagos to strike out a suit challenging the installation of Hakeem Ajasa as the Oniru of Iruland.

The suit is seeking a perpetual injunction, restraining Ajasa from parading himself as Oba Oniru of Lagos.

The suit is also seeking to stop Ajasa from performing traditional ceremonies or rites, pertaining to the installation of Oba Oniru of Lagos until a new selection is made in the appropriate customary manner or in accordance with Section 9(1) of the Obas and Chiefs of Lagos State Law, 1981.

Alhaja Afusatu Kabiawu, Alhaji Surajudeen Durosimi and Alhaja Wosilatu Fatosha are the plaintiffs in the suit.

According to the gist, Chioma and Davido got into a heated argument and she pushed him, which resulted to the bandaged leg due to the fact that he fell.
The report went on to say that the injury is a bit serious, as he checked into Reddington hospital in the company of his friends and bodyguard.
