OAP Do2tun to host Glo Battle of the Year Nigeria

Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, aka Do2tun, has been announced as the host of Glo Battle of the Year Nigeria, the world’s biggest dance competition packaged by national telecommunications company.

He is expected to coordinate activities during the second and third stage of the show including battle rounds and quarter finals, as well as semi-finals and finals performance shows which will be transmitted live. The first stage of the show, regional auditions was recently concluded across the key cities in the country.

The show which will kick –off in February will be aired exclusively on Glo TV, an innovative television streaming service which offers unlimited excitement with amazing content for all age.

Hollywood actors Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song are engaged, months after welcoming their son, Dakota 

Song confirmed the news on Tuesday, when she stepped out of Beverly Hills with a visible diamond ring on her finger.

The couple met on the set of Changeland in Thailand. They were first romantically linked when they were spotted grabbing  dinner at Craig’s, an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles in 2017.

The next month, Song posted a group photo to Instagram in which she posed alongside Culkin. The couple have been together for four years. 

They named their son Dakota, after Culkin’s late sister. Culkin’s sister died in 2008 at age 29 from her injuries after she was struck by a car.

The Home Alone star previously dated Mila Kunis for 8 years before their relationship ended in 2011. 

Although this is Song’s first marriage, it would be Culkin’s second marriage.  The star had earlier married actress Rachel Miner in 1998 and had gotten a divorce in 2002.

Over 25,000 people sign petition to stop foreign institutions from demanding IELTS from Nigerians

Over 25,000 people have signed a petition on change.org to stop foreign institutions from demanding an English proficiency test, the International English Language Testing System, from Nigerians.

The petition, which was initiated by a youth-led open-source platform for policy ideas that address the world’s most pressing challenges called Policy Shapers, was addressed to the Home Secretary of the United Kingdom, Priti Patel.

According to the think tank, no country in Africa, out of the 27 who list English as one of their official languages is on the Home Office list of countries exempted from taking the test.

Meanwhile, the UK Home Office has exempted Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, and ten other countries from those who would require the test.

Many foreign universities, who are either in English speaking countries or have courses taught in the language, demand the IELTS as a requirement for admitting international students.

However, Policy Shapers argue that a test that costs more than three times the minimum wage and the result expires in two years, should not be required of Nigerians since the country is predominantly English speaking.

Speaking with The PUNCH, Founder of Policy Shapers, Ebenezar Wikina, stated that the campaign became necessary after observing that many Nigerians had lost opportunities because they could not afford the cost of the test despite having tertiary education in the English language.

He added, “While advocating for this as a team, we found that there were many more young Africans who felt strongly about the issue, so we set up a task force with over 70 volunteers and we have all been working to push the movement together. Everything came together organically. At the moment, our petition has over 25,000 signatures with more than 2,000 comments in support of this advocacy movement.”

“Leave my mother and kids out of this!” – Mercy Aigbe rants at blogger following allegation on her mother snatching another woman’s husband with ‘Jazz’

The allegations were shared by the controversial IG blogger, Gistlovers while revealing its chat with some individuals who claim to have known Mercy Aigbe’s mother’s dealings.

According to the chats, Mercy Aigbe’s mother was widely known in the Anthony area of Lagos State, where she snatched a woman’s husband, alongside other allegations of promiscuity incorporated in the chats.

The actress has sternly warned the anonymous blogger to leave her mother and children out of this saga. She slammed Gistlovers for publishing a demeaning report coined by a hater without proper investigation, all in a bid to bring her down.

In her words:

“Dear Gistlover, I don’t know if you were paid, to try to bring me down, sincerely, I am not moved neither am I bothered with all the name calling, bashing and everything…. in a situation where people don’t know the truth, don’t know the true picture of situations and they decide to be used as an instrument of destruction then it is left to them and their conscience, you and your cohorts have come up with different narratives just to paint me as a DEMON, you even involved my kids, now you are involving my dear Mother! A statue of Kobe Bryant and his daughter , Gigi has been placed on the site of the helicopter crash that claimed their lives and those of others.

The sculpture was placed at the site in Calabasas, California in Wednesday, January 26, which marked the second anniversary of their tragic deaths and seven others.

The statue was created by sculptor Dan Medina and showed Kobe, in his Lakers uniform and with his arm around Gianna, who is also wearing a uniform while holding a basketball by her side.

Shina Peter’s wife Sammie laments rate of failed marriages

Sammie Shina Peters, the wife of Shina Peters has said that the rate at which marriages are breaking is alarming.

Mrs Peters said this in an Instagram post in the early hours of Thursday. She also prayed for protection against the children of ‘Lucifer’.

Sanwo-Olu flags Ojota-Opebi link bridges construction

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu flagged off the construction of Ojota-Opebi link bridges, a carriageway that will solve major traffic conflicts in Ikeja.

The 3.89 kilometre-long road infrastructure will open into Ojota axis in Kosofe, taking traffic from Opebi U-Turn and dropping it at Ikorodu Road via intersection that will be constructed under Odo Iya Alaro Bridge at Mende.

The road will be supported by 276 metre-long deck-on-pile bridge and 474 metre-long mechanically stabilised earth-wall approach sections.

The carriageway, which is a new connectivity, would create an easy exit for commuters leaving Ikeja-Onigbongbo axis towards Ojota and Maryland.

Kim Kardashian ‘deleted’ an Instagram post in the blink of an eye after she was accused of Photoshopping her picture.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star recently jetted to the Bahamas with rumored boyfriend Pete Davidson, after they were romantically linked.

Taking to the social media platform with a string of pictures, the 41-year-old gave fans a glimpse into an idyllic beach trip, showing her dressed in bikini bottoms and a long-sleeved top.

In one photo, which has since been removed, she could be seen flashing a peace sign as she walked on the shore.

However, while we’re more baffled by her decision to wear huge black gloves on the beach, eagle-eyed followers spotted a bizarre distortion in her leg.

She later re-posted the very same gallery without the picture in question, leading to fans questioning just what was happening.

Taking to her Instagram page, the mother-of-two shared an old picture of herself and her kids while they were still much younger. In the caption, Ojo detailed how she started her journey as a single mum without direction and with confusion. Odell Beckham Jr. Loses Majority Of His Salary After Bitcoin Dip

 CashApp agreed to convert Odell $750,000 salary into Bitcoin. OBJ signed on the dotted line, he opted to take his entire salary into Bitcoin. When he did this, Bitcoin was in the midst of breaking new all-time highs, and was worth $64,000 per coin.

 This seemed like it could be a good investment, however, a local top came quickly and ultimately shattered the price of Bitcoin. Now, the cryptocurrency is worth around $35,000, which is not good for Beckham’s earnings. As reported by Darren Rovell, OBJ’s entire salary is now worth $413K as opposed to $750K. Not to mention, once you factor in taxes, he has only made around $35K, which is enough money for just one Bitcoin. Simply put, OBJ has not benefitted from this decision. Of course, Beckham could simply decide to hold on to his Bitcoin, and perhaps in a year from now, it will go back up. Regardless, nothing is guaranteed, especially in crypto.  According to Fox Business, the inaugural Savage X Fenty lingerie store is located at the Fashion Show Las Vegas mall. The store has five rooms that feature merchandise and mannequins with diverse body types modeled after actual people. Savage X Fenty customers will also be able to try “interactive experiences” and “photo-worthy moments,” according to the brand’s press release.

 Toyo Baby in the Nollywood series, Jenifa’s Dairy, took to her Istagram page to narrate the bitter experiences at the hands of the pastor. According to Juiliana, the preacher had assaulted other women before her sister and how he threatened to ruin her career if she speak of the encounters. Taking to her page, she wrote; “Timilehin Adigun, I can not make sense of the videos you did. Just when I think I have seen it all, you reveal another side of you. I thought I knew you but I didn’t. You have no heart! Your videos brought back memories, sad memories, painful memories, I have not been able to stop thinking about them, I can’t even sleep. Pastor Timilehin Adigun Did you listen to yourself at all? I don’t think you did. 

 You manipulated and sexually abused my sister and you thought I would be calm, you expect me not to be furious, how are you processing the things you did and the things you said? How? I don’t get you. You talk about apology and forgiveness. Forgiving you is a process for me. I forgave you then, for may sanity, just when I am trying to move on, you do something else that triggers me and I get mad at you again and I beg God to help me forgive you again. The hurt is really deep, the pain, the trauma, the disappointment, the sleepless nights, the tears that drenched my pillow, the shock, the entire experience is indescribable. Like I said, there is so much to say. I don’t have the words yet. My book Rebirth is full of your praises Timilehin, I spoke about all the things you did for me. Even though then you had done it with two or three people that I know, but they were in good terms with you and they had forgiven you and everything seem to be okay. We all thought it was a thing of the past for you and it will never happen again. When you told me it will never happen again, I believed you, I thought it had stopped. Hence the reason I chose to focus on the good things when I wrote my book. I saw you as a Father then, so I couldn’t write a book and talk about your past.

By the way everything I said about Timilehin in Rebirth is true, and that’s why the hurt was really deep for me…. and I didn’t know what to say and how to say it and I didn’t want to look like the ungrateful person. I couldn’t talk to anyone, I remember talking to somebody I respect so much… You know your children Timilehin, don’t ever call me you daughter again! And don’t ever call yourself my father again! I don’t know why you mentioned Jenifa’s diary, you want people to drag me for the mess you made. You are just wicked honestly, what has Jenifa’s Dairy got to do with passwords. You sent an email and messed up the whole thing. 

Never said anything about it, people said all sort of things to me then, some are still talking till today. You messed things up and I paid for it, who did I tell? I almost went crazy when you started put the blame on me, as you have a habit of to blaming me for different thing, you just never take responsibility for the things you do. I had to talk to the person who was present the day you sent the email as I thought I had amnesia. I even had to chat with the director, because it felt like I was going crazy…. I just hope that the girls at Yeshua High School and your church are safe. Whoever made the mistake of making you an Associate Director in Yeshua High School is only encouraging you to continue what you have started. I might be wrong but I don’t think you have changed. Alex Iwobi banned from Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup playoff against Ghana

#jaiyeorie  Super Eagles star midfielder, Alex Iwobi who plays for Everton, will miss Nigeria’s match against Ghana for a spot in the 2022 World Cup taking place in Qatar. The midfielder was sent off for a foul after coming on as a substitute in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 match against Tunisia. Maguette N’Diaye, a Senegalese referee, had first issued a yellow card for the foul.

However, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) encouraged him to check the pitch-side monitor, and he did so, upgrading the yellow to a red.

Olakira bags ambassadorial deal with Maserati + receives new car

#jaiyeorie Ade Ebenezer Adefemi, better known as Olakira, a sensational musician and songwriter, has been named a brand ambassador for Maserati, an Italian luxury car maker. The “Maserati” crooner, who uploaded a video of the news, said it still seems like a dream for him. To complete the deal, Olakira was given a brand new Maserati. He expressed his admiration for the brand and stated that he feels honored to be affiliated with it. Taking to Twitter, the singer wrote; ”Starting my own 2022 with this win! Still feels like a dream but an official deal with Maserati is now sealed & signed #OlakiraXmaserati”
