Firefighters battled to contain a fire raging through a Trump hotel tower in Azerbaijan.

The fire broke out on the middle floors of the 33-storey Trump International Hotel and Tower in Baku on Saturday afternoon.

 6 fire engines were on site battling the blaze but there were no reports of injuries.The fire in the unfinished building started just weeks after a man died in an apartment fire in New York's Trump Tower.

Zimbabwe Legalises Marijuana

Zimbabwe has legalized the production of marijuana for medicinal and scientific purposes, making it the second African country to turn the drug into a source of revenue.

However, recreational use of the drug known in the country as ‘mbanje or dagga’ remains illegal.

A government notice by the health and child care minister, Dr David Parirenyatwa says individuals and corporations can apply for licenses to grow marijuana, whose production and possession had brought up to 12 years in prison.

How I Almost Lost My Son During Childbirth –Actress, Ufuoma McDermott

Nollywood actress, Ufuoma McDermott, posted the heartwarming video on her Instagram page and unsurprisingly, fans were quick to adore her children. But unknown to most people, the actress would have lost her son during childbirth if she had not listened to her doctor.

In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the actress revealed that both her children were born by caesarean section. She said only ignorance would make a woman refuse to have a CS simply because she wants to be a strong ‘Hebrew woman’.

She said, “Both of my children were born by caesarean section and I still feel very proud of motherhood. My children are my treasure and pride. I don’t think anyone should decide how a child is brought into the world because complications sometimes warrant CS. If everything is good, then the doctor would insist on a normal birth.

“At any point in time, motherhood is motherhood. It makes me laugh when people say that women who have a CS are not strong women. It is amazing how ignorant some people are. My son, for example, was conceived through in vitro fertilisation and when it was time for delivery, there was a breach, which means that the head of the child was up in the uterus as against it being down, so it was not advisable to push at the time.

“I’m glad that I listened to the doctor because, by the time my son was brought out, he had his placenta around his neck. If I had pushed, I might have strangled him. I think it is ignorance when someone comes out to say that she is a strong woman so she has to do normal child delivery. Yet, I am patient with people because I got to a point where I was enlightened.

“Most people that say they are Hebrew women speak from what they have been taught by their mothers and grandmothers. They have been told that if they do not have the normal childbirth, then they are not Hebrew women. These women can be forgiven because the truth is that a mother is always a mother. When it comes to the process of childbirth, you cannot take away the pain that comes with it whether it is by CS or normal delivery; you would feel the pain whether it is before, during or after childbirth.”

The actress noted that even though her baby was born by CS, she was on her feet the second day just because she wanted to catch a glimpse of her newborn.

“CS is actually a stitch, it is a wound and it takes time to heal but in my case, I was already walking by the second day after giving birth to my son. The labour ward was different from where they kept my son and I could not sleep because I wanted to see him. I was a new mother, the nurses told me to stay put, but I did not listen. I was crying as I dragged myself on the staircase to see my son. In all of it, I think we should just appreciate mothers because they go through a lot. Even if it is an adoption, a mother is a mother and you cannot take that away from her.”

The first lady of Kebbi state, Dr. Aisha Bagudu has slammed Chimamanda Adichie after receiving several backlash from Nigerians who reacted to an interview she conducted with former US first lady and presidential aspirant, Hillary Clinton.

 

Writing via Instagram Dr. Aisha Bagudu slammed Chimmanda Adichie by stating that she sounded angry and almost like a jilted girlfriend in her rebuttal.
She wrote:
”Chimamanda Adichie, Hilary Clinton and Abeng Blessing.
Those who know me know that I am not a huge fan of @chimamanda_adichie. I often find her views tribal, stereotyped and based on the “one sided story” she speaks of so much. But I don’t know her story; so I don’t judge her. But simply being labeled a feminist swings her to one side. In actual fact, I have read most of her books and I am proud that she is an internationally acclaimed “FEMALE NIGERIAN AND DARNED GOOD AUTHOR”. But I don’t like labels. I don’t like titles. I don’t need them. Particularly those bestowed on one remotely. Labels can be so transient and they limit ones growth. We are ALL bigger than a label or title. Abeng in her letter to Chimmanda quotes from Eli Pope in the series #scandal as follows: if you have to say how powerful you are, you have no power. Real power is silent, hidden, there all along. It can’t be gained nor lost. It is not a commodity. It is who you are.
So for the most I am with @ms_einsteinettein the Mrs Hilary debate. Even more so because Chimamanda Adichie sounds angry and “reactive”….Almost like a jilted girlfriend and not the beautiful intelligent wife and mother she is.
If you love someone, you love them, warts and all, up and down and you don’t mind shouting it out to the world. Like Hilary does; you bear the Mrs, support them however bad their behaviour, you stand by them and you don’t drag them with the world. Like she did during the Monica Lewinsky saga. Having said all that, I want to borrow Chimamanda’s ending. I don’t expect everyone to understand it, but it’s so apt for #currentsituation.

Kim Jong-un becomes first North Korean leader to cross into the South after 65 years

 

 

 

Kim Jong-un has become the 1st ever North Korean leader to step into South Korea after 65 years for a historic peace summit on Friday where he meets with President Moon Jae-in .

Kim Jong-un crossed the 38th parallel and handed over his sworn enemy before two men walked in a welcome ceremony attended by South Korean soldiers captive. Kim began signing the guest book at Peace House in the shameless village of Panmunjom. The area will be the place where North Korean talks will take place to surrender its nuclear bombs.

‘New history starts from now, at the historic starting point of an era of peace,’ he wrote.
In televised talks shortly afterwards, Kim said he was ready for ‘heartfelt, sincere and honest’ discussions with Moon, although he did not mention denuclearization.

In an interview, Wema Sepetu  advised ladies against having any affection for Daimond Platnumz because he will cheat and can never be faithful.

She said,

”Keep off Diamond, he’s a serial cheater who can never change his way.”

“To be honest, even if Diamond comes swearing that he has cleaned up his past and wants to marry me, I won’t accept it. That would have happened back then but not now. I know Nasibu too well after being together with him for two years. I know his ways. He will still cheat, he can never be faithful to any lady,” Wema said.

 Wema Sepetu dated Clement Kiondo, a former strong accountant in Air Tanzania who currently serves 5 years of imprisonment after being sentenced last year to a scandal of corruption. His claims will come a few days after the police singer was arrested for a video he had uploaded to social media. The video described as indecent demonstrates the singer and her baby Hamisa Mobetto touching the bed. These reports have uploaded the video despite her other baby mama, Zari Hassan.

The Kensington Palace  announced that Prince Harry asked his older brother Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, to be his best man in his marriage to Meghan Markle. Harry served as William's best man on his wedding with Kate Middleton in 2011 and is widely expected that the Duke will have the same role for his younger sibling this year. Earlier this week, Kensington Palace announced that the 19-year-old filmmaker Sheku Kanneh-Mason, the first black musician to win the prestigious BBC Young Musician of the Year awards, will perform at the ceremony with Karen Gibson and the Kingdom Choir, one of the top ensembles in the country.

English FA to sell Wembley stadium to American billionaire, Shahid Khan

 

 

 

Football fans in English have touched people after learning that the English FA is set to sell Wembley Stadium to Fulham owner Shahid Khan with a £ 1billion deal.     Proposals from the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL chief for a deal worth £ 1bn for the national stadium, opened in 2007, were heard by the English FA. An upfront payment of £ 600m is expected from American billionaire Khan, while the FA may be gross another £ 400m from the day of the match's earnings. A poll conducted by SunSport shows more than 70 percent to vote against plans, which will still be seen by the FA keeping Wembley as the home base for major matches, including England internationals and the Final FA Cup. ...

Once the deal is approved, the English national team could be forced to go “on the road” around the country in October and November due to clashes with the NFL season

Donald Duke reacts to claims by Okonjo Iweala that he advised her against GEJ

 

 

Former Cross River state governor, Donald Duke has reacted to a claim made by former minister of finance, Okonjo Iweala, which she made in her latest book, ‘Fighting Corruption is Dangerous: The Story Behind the Headlines’.

 

According to the content of the book, he asked Okonjo Iweala to turn down any request of appointment from Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2011. She said this was to deny Jonathan’s government credibility so that it would be “weak and not succeed”.

Reacting to the book, Donald Duke tweeted:
”It is true I met with Ngozi when the rumors were swirling about her being considered for appointment. As “friends”, she having been literally dismissed from an earlier appointment as f1nance minister, I urged caution. I made no mention of adding or subtracting credibility to anyone or government.  It was “two friends” discussing careers. It ended there and she subsequently made her choice which I respected. However, I think it is in poor taste and demeaning of her to report a private conversation in whatever self laundering attempt she may be up to. With hindsight, I was vindicated, Ngozi, as Minister of Finance and Economy, despite massive revenue receipts, left Nigeria poorer than she met it”.

Linda wrote:

My hustle before before. Lol. Started FM&B (Fashion, Modeling and Beauty) magazine in 2006 until 2009. Managed to produce 5 editions of the magazine before I gave up on it. I gave up on this particular venture but I didn’t give up on my dreams of being successful, of making it in life. I always believed if I failed in one thing, I could succeed in another.
For hustlers out there still fighting for their dreams, it’s okay to give up on some ventures you believe without any doubt is going nowhere and start something else, put energy into something new. You can be successful in something else.
Those of us who have made it always advise ‘dont give up, never give up until you have made it’, and that’s good advice but sometimes it’s okay to let go of a business venture that is draining your spirit, taking all your time, money, resources and giving nothing back to you. Some ventures are fruitless, and what you can hope is to have discernment on time to tell which is and move away from it asap.
I know people who have been on a particular hustle for over 15 years and refuse to let it go because they think one day sha, I go blow. If after so many years and that one day hasn’t come, maybe it will, maybe it won’t. But here’s the thing; what if you’re not on the right path? What if there’s something else out there that you were called to do? To be? What if your destiny is on some other venture? You must be willing to try other things. You must be willing to let go of the life you planned so as to have the life that is waiting for you.
And its beyond money. Are you doing a business/work that makes you happy? Does it serve you? Grow you? Is this what you really want to do for the rest of your life? I know people who started businesses because others succeeded in it and not because it’s what they truly wanted to do.
I started the mag because Betty Irabor succeeded in it and I wanted to be like her, the next great magazine publisher forgetting that I had my path to follow in life. Thankfully, I found myself.
I hope you discover your path in life soon and do what you were truly called into this world to do and not what you THINK you should be doing.

Gbenga Daniel’s physically challenged son’s fiancee, Natasha Morisson, reveals how she fell in love with him

 

 

Jamaican babe, Natasha Morisson is the beautiful lady Debola, one of the sons of the former Ogun State Governor “Otunba Gbenga Daniel, is engaged to. 
In this interview with Sunday Adigun, Natasha revealed how she met Debola on Instagram, went to the same University, became good friends, went to church together every Sunday, before they became lovers.

Where is Natasha from?
I’m from London, I’m a Jamaican, I’m here to celebrate with Debola’s family. Celebrating his Excellency’s 62nd birthday, and I wish him a happy birthday.
Being Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s son’s girlfriend, how does that make you feel?
To be sincere I’m very nervous about the position.
I’m very new to seeing people, important guests coming around, it’s nice. It is amazing and an unbelievable experience, but I’m sure I’m going to get used to it.

I’m sure you know, getting married to Debola will transform you into a celebrity?
I don’t think so, because I’m not sure of tomorrow. I’m just thinking of the present right now.
Tell me how you guys met?
We went to the same University. We actually met on Instagram but we went to the same University, so we knew about each other. We became very good friends, we went to church together, play together, then it developed into something.

   

So what can you say about Debola?
Debola is the sweetest, kindest, most caring guy. He’s like an Angel, he stands out, he’s funny, he’s the best man I’ve ever met in my life, he’s lovely and he’s my best friend.

What should we expect from your relationship soon?
Well, he said, an Engagement is coming very soon.
I thought that was meant to be a surprise because Debola told me you didn’t know about it?
I don’t know, I’m always surprised everyday, everyday he wakes up and he surprises me by saying something amazing.

 

How can you describe your father-in-law to be, Otunba Gbenga Daniel?
He’s very inspirational. He’s kind, he’s always happy, he’s a family man, and he has a large heart. He’s lovely. I can’t wait to be part of the family. Simi named Human Rights Ambassador by U.S Consulate

Joromi singer Simi has been decorated as one of the Human Rights Ambassadors from Nigeria by the US Consul General F. John Bray.
She shared the news on her Instagram happy and describing it as a honour. She wrote:

A few days ago, I was decorated at the US Consulate, by the US Consul General, as one of the Human Rights Ambassadors from Nigeria, in conjunction with CRALI.

It was, and is, an incredible honour to get a platform that enables me to use my voice – to the best of my ability – for this cause.

Cardi B's Ex-Manager Sues Her For $10m... Bodak Yellow Rapper Says I Sacked You Bcus You Were Ripping Me Off

 

Sources tell TMZ Cardi first confronted her manager, Shaft, on Super Bowl weekend, claiming he cooked the books to make it appear Cardi was pulling in less money that she was actually making, and he was keeping the difference.

Their Cardi sources put it this way ... if Cardi got a gig that paid $100,000, Shaft would tell her she was making $50k and allegedly pocket the balance.

  Cardi's fiance, Offset, went ballistic when he learned she was paying Shaft a 20% manager's fee ... way more than he says is the norm. Offset pushed her hard to give Shaft the boot, which he did.


  Shaft is suing Cardi for $10 million for breach of contract, claiming she had an obligation to keep him on, especially since he was the driving force behind her meteoric rise.

Tmz's Shaft sources say he acknowledges 20% is a high management fee, but he used a lot of the money to pay writers and producers who engineered her music. He thinks Offset was on a mission to sack him just so he could control her and her career.
