The Minister thanked the Ambassador for proposing the music festival, saying: ''we welcome this proposal with both hands.''
He expressed the hope that the festival could be held as early as December 2022.
Alhaji Mohammed said Nigeria and Spain share diversity and creativity, adding that he looks forward to deepening relations with Spain in the area of culture, tourism and creative industry.
He also thanked the Ambassador for the plan by the Spanish Embassy to endow a Chair in Spanish language at the University of Lagos, from next year, with a view to encouraging the teaching of Spanish language in Nigeria.
''We hope this will be followed up by the opening of Spanish Cultural Centres in Nigeria. We are starting right and this is one of the ways of concretizing the agreements we signed in Spain during the state visit of President Muhammadu Buhari in May,'' the Minister said.
Earlier, the Ambassador had said Nigeria and Spain enjoy strong relations but noted the need to grow and extend the relations to other fields.
''Cultural relations is a very relevant part of our bilateral relations. Strengthening it will help bring our countries and peoples even closer,'' he said.

Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the EFCC have begun investigation of a Venezuelan and 4 Nigerians arrested by the Navy for suspected illegal oil bunkering activities.
The Venezuelan: Roderick Rivero and Nigerians: Oluwole Olaitan, Emmanuel Emeka Okeke, Olota Albert and Richard Asubi were arrested on June 20, 2022 by officers of the Nigeria Navy Ship, NNS Victory, in Calabar, Cross River state while onboard a vessel, MV Edidiong AJ, loaded with unspecified quantity of petroleum products suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil, AGO.

Countess Vaughn sat with Cherie Johnson of Family Matters and The Parkers to talk about her role as Kim Parker.
Vaughn talked of being regularly fat-shamed and having her figure compared to that of her white co-star, Jenna Von O, who played Stevie, in The Parkers.
She discussed how it had a detrimental impact on her perception of her body to the point where she decided to get silicone injections in her butt.
Johnson and Vaughn discussed O's moniker, "white chocolate," in order to highlight her attractive body type. Being continually compared to the white actress had an adverse effect on Vaughn's self-confidence.
“They used to clown me on the show. They’d be like, ‘you’re a Black girl, and Jenna von Oÿ’s butt is bigger than yours, and she’s a white girl,” she said to Johnson. “And that used to bother the heck out of me. That used to be a joke, all the time.”
Vaughn explained how castmates compared her body to Oÿ’s.
“Because I’m a Black girl, and I’m supposed to have a big butt,” she recalled. “You know, you fall into these stereotypes. You feel like, ‘I’m supposed to have this.’ And then you’d see all the attention she would get for having it. They would lose their minds. I’m like, ‘A** is everything.’”
Vaughn's identity as a young Black actor under the scrutiny of the trade's beauty standards was a topic they continued to debate.
She went on to discuss the numerous overweight remarks that were directed at her while she was performing in Moesha.
“And I get mad at myself because I was a lot smaller when I was on Moesha, and they made me the fat kid,” Vaughn said earnestly. “The jokes. Even the first episode… the line was, ‘oh, it’s baby fat,’ and whats-her-name goes, ‘no, it’s fat, baby.’”
There were a lot of fat jokes that have been brought up since Moesha was released on Netflix, many of which were explored in the July 29 interview.

Nigeria's military and other relevant stakeholders must stay one step ahead of culprits while simultaneously boosting up domestic armament manufacture in order to address the country's existing security concerns and emerging threats.
This was one of the highlights of the response of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, after receiving a presentation on “Defence Transformation and National Security: Strategic Options for Nigeria of the Future”, by the National Defence College Course 30 participants, late Wednesday during a virtual interaction.
According to the Vice President, “if you look at the challenges that we are facing and the nature of those challenges, it is evident that we need to be many steps ahead of non-state actors in particular who are perpetrators of this asymmetric warfare that we are experiencing.”
Continuing, Prof. Osinbajo added that “it is clear that given current realities in our security situation, there is absolutely every need for us to fast-forward all our plans for the future so that we can be much more effective in dealing with the current threats and the threats that we will experience as we go into the future.
“One of the most critical areas is the question of local production of military hardware and I think it is a low-hanging fruit when it comes to manufacturing some of the hardware that we will need. I think that there is a need, especially now to really look very closely at local production of our hardware, beginning with armament.”
The Vice President while making a case for improved investment in Defence Industries Corporation (DICON), noted that “every country of the world takes advantage (in my view) of the crisis situation that it faces.”
According to him, “we mentioned India, Brazil, and even the more developed economies of the world, during the first world war, the second world war, it was these challenges that led to the development of their military-industrial complexes. We have a challenge today, there are so many zones where there are conflicts. Our law enforcement is spread out everywhere.”
Commending the course participants for their efforts in proposing innovations in the defence sector, Prof. Osinbajo emphasized the urgency of the local production of arms.
“If we say the local companies should produce some of the mobile platforms like Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and Multi-Role Armoured Vehicle (MRAV), if we give them the contracts, they will produce, but if we choose to import rather than produce locally then we will never develop our military-industrial complex.”
The Vice President also spoke about the need for transparency in the management of resources meant for the acquisition of hardware for the defence and security agencies.
“There needs to be more accountability because every time you hear about 'we not having enough equipment,' but there must be accountability. I will like to see a framework for greater accountability within the Ministry of Defence that ensures that they are able to account for military expenditure,” he said.
Earlier in a presentation on behalf of the Course 30 participants, Col. A. A. Adamu proposed, among other things, the restructuring of the Ministry of Defence to reflect contemporary challenges as well as contain emerging threats to defence and security.
He also highlighted enhancing Nigeria’s defence production capacity, leveraging technology and improving collaboration within and across Africa as determining factors for the effective transformation of Nigeria’s defence and security sector.
Col. Adamu, on behalf of the course participants and the management of the National Defence College, prayed for the speedy recovery of the Vice President who is still recuperating, while thanking him for the opportunity to make the presentation.
Other officials present at the event included the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; the Commandant of the National Defence College, Rear Adm. Murtala Bashir, and representative of the Inspector General of Police, among other senior officers from the college.
Research report presentation by course participants to the Vice President is a prominent feature in the annual academic calendar of the National Defence College. Every year since 2016, participants of the college have presented reports of research conducted in key areas to the Vice President.

A man, Bolaji Odukoya has narrated a disturbing experience with officers of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Lagos State.
Odukoya on his Twitter handle, @BolajiOdukoya, revealed that he ran into SARS officers at Bayo Kuku, Ikoyi, who performed a stop and search on him and his car, but found nothing.
Insteading of allowing him to go, they hit the back of gun on him, pushed and slapped him before throwing him inside the van and drove him to secluded area.
Getting to a dead end at Sura area, they searched his phone with 'keywords' but saw nothing, instead of allowing him to go, they demanded he pays N600,000.00 for resisting arrest.
Odukoya further narrated that the officers drove him around Ikoyi in search of ATM machine, to withdraw the amount they agreed for his release.
Eventually, they made him transfer his hard earned money to an Opay account, which they provided before he got his freedom.
Odukoya said: "My SARS kidnap experience on Monday 01/08/2022. Was really reluctant to tweet this cause thinking about it is so draining but I know it’s friday today and people will be out till late and maybe it can save someone’s day.
On my way from Ikoyi(Alexander) to VI at about 11:38 pm I was stopped by some guys at Bayo Kuku (The right turn after the deputy governors residence) I could see FSWAT on their black T-shirts/ polos.
They asked me to come down and show them my trunk I did , asked for my papers and license I showed them, next thing one of them suggested they take me to their station to interrogate me , I said I wasn’t going anywhere , asking them what I did and all, they started to push me I resisted, one hit the back of his gun on my lap, while the other pushed, slapped me and all.
I left my phone in the car so one of them had reached out to get it.
After a scuffle they managed to get me in their van they drove my car, while they had said they were taking me to the station, they took me to a dead end at Sur

They started searching for keywords on my phone they searched “Client” “tramadol” “drugs” can’t remember what else , they couldn’t find anything incriminating and proceeded to tell me they were arresting me for resisting and dragging with police officers and I have to pay them 600k , it was already 1am by this time.
I started negotiating with them agreed on my “ransom”, they had one of them drive me round to look for ATM’s to withdraw agreed amount withdraw from , we couldn’t find any , they called him to bring me back while they had found an Opay account for me to transfer to, then they let me drive home.
Also while all these was going on other policemen were bringing people they had arrested to this same spot, because of what happened the next day I had a police man drive me around cause I had things to do , we saw another set of SARS guys just after ST Saviours before the Ikoyi link Bridge.
Another set were seen at Bayo Kuku again last night by a friend just at 10:30 pm.
Seems like what is slowly becoming a thing for them. May Nigeria not happen to us."

Tyler Perry is celebrating Meghan Markle’s birthday with a special message.
On Friday, one day after the Duchess of Sussex turned 41, Perry shared a tribute on his Instagram page.
“I’ve had a front row seat in your life for the past few years. I’ve watched you endure things that would have broken a lot of people,” the actor and filmmaker, 52, said.

On Friday (August 5), Ashanti and Nelly caused a stir with a surprise performance of their 2008 song “Body on Me.” The former couple gave fans much to see as the duo playfully interacted with each other on stage at the Oakland Arena.
In footage caught by an attendee, fans can be heard screaming as the two recite their lyrics to each other face-to-face. The two dated back in the early 2000’s, before calling it quits around 2014.

The police officer who was captured on tape repeatedly beating a man with a machete meets with the IGP to go on trial.
The police officer who was captured on camera repeatedly striking a guy with a machete during an assault has met with the Inspector General of Police, who has mandated that he be put on trial.
A few days ago, a video showing police officer PC Okoi Liyomo abusing his victim in the Cross Rivers state hamlet of Ekori went viral.
The state police command's spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has pledged that the officer would be identified and invited to Abuja.
Adejobi stated in a statement posted on his Twitter account yesterday night that the officer met with the IGP on Thursday.
He said the police boss has ordered that the officer be made to face trial.

On Wednesday, Peter Obi, a contender for president, paid Catriona Laing, the British High Commissioner, a visit in her office.

Mr Halliday said that Wema Bank followed the high court’s instructions by issuing five bank drafts for N10 million each, totaling the judgment debt amount, which is supposed to be payable by the Bayelsa State Government, the judgment debtor.
The complaint however said that First Bank dishonoured the draft issued by Wema Bank stating that the drafts had been twice presented for clearing and twice rejected.
Mr Halliday further accused the bank of falsifying the Bayelsa State Government’s Internally Generated Revenue Statement of Account claiming that there were no funds in the state’s treasury.
He alleged that the bank falsified the statement of account to justify the failed draft.
“That they further forged an affidavit which filing fees were paid in 2017 but commissioned in 2007. That the bank also forged a motion on notice that bears the same motion number with that of the judgment creditor,” Mr Halliday said in the affidavit to the suit.
However, the court ordered the police and other security agencies to immediately arrest the bank’s MD.
Funmilayo Falola, a spokesperson for the bank did not return Peoples Gazette’s requests for comments on the development.
