10 Turkish sailors captured by Nigerian pirates in July are freed

10 Turkish sailors who were kidnapped by gunmen off the coast of Nigeria in July have been freed. There were freed on Friday, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

The sailors are all in good health, Anadolu said, without giving more details.

The Turkish-flagged ship, Paksoy-1 was attacked on July 16 when sailing from Cameroon’s Douala port to Abidjan port in Ivory Coast. It was not carrying any cargo.

Saudi Arabia Arrival Stage Of 2019 Hajj, Records 1.8m Pilgrims

Saudi Arabia’s Director General of Passports Major General Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya on Wednesday August 7, commemted that 1,819,790 pilgrims arrived the Kingdom to perform the annual Hajj rites.
Addressing a press conference in Jeddah, Al-Yahya said1,708,152 people arrived through airports across the Kingdom, 94,388 through land ports, while 17,250 came through sea transport. He further disclosed that 300 forged visas were discovered while documents were being processed.

A court has given the Department of State Services the go ahead to detain Omoyele Sowore for 45 days. 
A Federal High Court in Abuja as granted the request by the Department of State Services (DSS) to further detain the convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore for 45 days pending the conclusion of its investigation.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo, in a ruling on an ex-parte motion by the DSS, said e would allow the agency detain Sowore for 45 days in the first instance, which could be renewed upon and application, to enable the DSS complete its investigation.

In the motion ex-parte brought by the DSS, under Section 27 of the Terrorism Prevention Act, the agency accused Sowore of engaging in terrorism Act.

Tekno who was spotted with some semi-nude girls dancing on a strippers’ pole along the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge, Lagos, an act some saw as indecent, was never arrested, his manager, Sydorff, has said.

Sydorff said this in an exclusive interview with The PUNCH. He explained that the singer was not arrested, instead, he was ‘invited’ to clear the air.
Sydorff said, “Tekno was never arrested by the police. They requested our presence and they told us to please come and clear the air about the whole issue. When we got to the station it was not as if anyone was arrested.
“The police just invited us and we went there to clear the air. They told us that they felt we were doing advertisement for the music video but we told them that it was just a music video.

“We just chilled there for a while. We drove there and we left. It was not like anything happened. We spent about one hour and thirty minutes with the police and we left. Everything has been settled now. Initially, there was no problem, it was just the way people escalated the situation. We did not do anything illegal.
“I would love his fans to know that the video that he was shooting, Agege, would soon be out and Tekno’s album, Old Romance, would be ready by September.”

A songwriter and working musician claims Lady Gaga lifted key elements of a song he released in 2012 for her hit from her film A Star Is Born, Shallow.

Steve Ronsen says his 2012 song Almost, which he posted to SoundCloud, had a three-note melody - G, A, B - which Lady Gaga, 33, replicated for the song, which was hit the top of the charts this past March in the wake of her memorable performance at the Oscars with co-star Bradley Cooper.

Ronsen, who's represented by lawyer Mark D. Shirian, have requested a settlement asking for 'millions and millions' in restitution, sources told Page Six, adding that those in Gaga's inner circle are dismissing the request as a 'brazen shakedown.'

A 22-year-old Kenyan woman was last week found dead on a beach in Dubai, with the cause of her death shrouded with mystery.

The body of Suzan Makena from Nyeri County was found in the sea by Dubai police on Wednesday, July 31st, which was coincidentally her birthday.

Ms. Makena, who moved to Dubai about four months ago, is reported to have left her house at 3 am on that day to meet someone but was found dead 5 hours later.

Two people face jail after accessing CCTV footage of Emiliano Sala's post-mortem. Sala was killed on board a private jet in January after it went missing on its way from Nantes to Cardiff.

Meghan Markle's birthday cake has a story behind it

Meghan Markle celebrated her 38th birthday with her nearest and dearest, including Prince Harry and Archie Harrison, at her Windsor home.
The Duchess' day was reportedly a quite affair after a busy few months, but we're sure her loving husband spoilt her.

 Luminary Bakery in Stoke Newington, north-east London, was tasked with creating a cake for the royal occasion, reports Hello! magazine.

Meghan is a huge fan of the bakery and even features it in the Forces of Change Vogue edition, which she guest edited.

Buhari’s campaign coordinator, others defect to PDP

President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign coordinator in Zamfara State in the 2019 general elections, Alhaji Bature Sambo, and other top officials of the All Progressives Congress on Thursday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party in a ceremony in the Gusau Government House.

Other defectors who dumped the APC included the current Board Chairman, National Hospital Port Harcourt, Alhaji Muktari Anka; the immediate past Commissioner for Youth Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed; the immediate past Special Adviser, Alhaji Ibrahim Ajala, and over 6,000 other APC supporters.

Kanye West surprises manager with a brand new Lamborghini Suv on his birthday

Kanye West stuck to his usual, over-the-top style when deciding what to get his manager John Monopoly for his birthday.

West, 42, rolled up to the talent agent's birthday festivities at swanky eatery Delilah in West Hollywood, California Wednesday night in a brand new, customized luxury 2019 Lamborghini SUV --  which he then gave to his longtime friend.

Both Monopoly and West, in their stories, section, posted a picture of the pair posing in front of the new ride, featuring an on-trend matte black finish.

'Happy BDAY to me !!!! Words cannot express my gratitude .... I’m at a complete loss....' Monopoly captioned the image, in which he is beaming alongside the as-usual unsmiling Kanye.
