lance is expecting

Once again, while hanging out at the Circle of Sisters event (held by WBLS, WLIB and Hot 97) in Manhattan over the weekend, Lance Gross sat down with us to speak about becoming a dad, what projects he’s working on in the future and how he feels about fans attacking the wives. When we weren’t hypnotized by his beautiful smile, we managed to ask some good questions and get even better responses from the actor and father-to-be. Here’s what Lance
had to say: His Excitement About Fatherhood (He’s Expecting A Baby Girl): I’m in a good place. I feel good. I’m excited. I’m ready to bring this child into the world and spoil ‘em. My parents taught me well so I just want to share some of the things they taught me with my child. His Thoughts On Marriage (He’s Engaged): I’ve always been a relationship type of guy. It’s always been in my plans to have a wife and a family. That’s all I know, so I’m looking forward to that. I finally found the right person, my soul mate, so I’m looking forward to it. I can’t wait. How He Knows That Rebecca Jefferson Is His Soul Mate: We’re friends first. We’re best friends. I’m not a fan of saying someone completes another person, but she definitely complements me and I complement her. And we just have fun together. I can’t imagine myself without her. His Thoughts On Fans Talking Crazy About Omari Hardwick’s Wife, And His Own Fiancée: It’s terrible. I did worry at first because I’ve been in public relationships that have failed and I have caught the backlash in comments and in people’s opinions. But everyone’s going to have an opinion. So, starting out in this relationship, I felt like I needed to protect it, so I’ve made my own privacy around it. But one day I just woke up and I was like, ‘Man, I’m going to sing it from the mountaintop!’ So, we find our privacy. We share only what we want to share. So whatever I put out whether it’s a picture, something I did for her or something she did for me, that’s something that I chose to share with everybody. You want to share it, you want people to know. You want to claim who you’re with. But just know, you’re not getting everything. What’s Up Next For His Career: I’m waiting for pilot season to start. I’m in talks for a couple of other shows. As you know, I was on “Crisis” and that got canceled, so I’m looking for the next role. Right now, currently, I’m in daddy mode. It’s totally family mode for me so I’ve turned down a couple of roles. Just until the baby is here, and that’s when I’ll get back on it. How He Feels When His Projects Aren’t Well-Received: That’s just the nature of the business. You build a mountain of nos until you get the perfect yes. You get more nos or you tell people no more than you tell people yes. That comes along with the job. I’m unphased by that. When somebody tells me no, that lets me know that I need to work a little bit harder. I use it as fuel, so I don’t mind it. On His Love Of Photography And The Success He’s Had With It Recently: I’ve been doing photography for years. I started out with travel photography and more like documentary stuff–photojournalism-type photography. I just picked up studio photography three and a half years ago. But it’s something that I’ve always been passionate about. It’s always been a hobby of mine, I just kind of started sharing it with the Instagram world. It is what it is. I won’t put any limits on it, because who knows what will happen with it? Right now I just want to have fun with it, just as long as it doesn’t become stressful. Congrats! souce-madamenoire

Royal twins

According to fresh reports, the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting twin babies - and they are girls! Both Kate and Prince William are said to be so happy that they are sharing the news with family and friends. Star Magazine reports that the royal couple found out they are expecting twin girls during a recent ultrasound. "When they looked at the screen and saw two tiny human beings, they were completely overwhelmed," a longtime friend of the couple told the magazine. "Will said Kate’s mouth dropped open and her eyes almost popped out of her head, then she squealed, ‘Oh my God!’ He’ll never forget the look on her face — it must have been priceless!" Prince William reportedly phoned his father immediately to share the news with him and then he drove straight to Windsor Castle to inform his grandmother - Queen Elizabeth II. I can imagine what kind of fairytale life awaits the girls. Congrats to them.

FOLLY ON SET

Folly will be premiered in the United States of America next month. Elizabeth Daniels’ first movie as a producer was Behind The Melody, a flick that was well rated locally and internationally. Ini Edo and Jim Iyke were some of the stars that featured in the film. In Folly, Rhoda has a perfect life until recklessness turns her world upside down. Almost 30 years later, on the verge of drinking herself to death, she is jolted back to her senses as she race against time to stop an ugly history from repeating itself! Folly tells the story of love and sweet life gone sour. It themes on the thin line between promises and betrayal, how a harmless, thoughtless action can alter lives forever.

3 Beauty Skills Every Woman Should Master

3 Beauty Skills Every Woman Must Master to be flawless 1.Conquering The Cat Eye The most sought after beauty skill and quite possibly the reason why many a woman is late to an event. Mastering the cat-eye is not easy but once it’s learned it’s a skill to have in your arsenal.Don't forget to bat your eyelashes Pro tip: Use an angled makeup sponge for help!
Photo credits:teen vouge, pop sugar 2.Curl Eyelashes Eye lash curling is essential for all lash types and eye shapes. Simply doing that and swiping on two coats of mascara opens up you eyes and makes you look wide awake. Pro tip: Heat the curler a bit, the warmth helps hold the curl its hair! Photo credits:smudgestyle, glambistro
3.Applying false eyelashes without gluing your eyes shut Every now and then we all want a little extra oomph in our lashes a la Kim K and falsies are the best way to go but application can be tricky and many a woman has been known to curse everyone in sight during the process. However, practice makes perfect so keep it up even if you’re just rockin’ them around the house. Pro tip: Be sure to bend the strip a bit to form to your eye shape and make sure the glue is tacky before application.

Shonda Rhimes Shines

Grey’s Anatomy” & “Scandal” mastermind Shonda Rhimes has landed the cover of The Hollywood Reporter’s newest issue. In the cover story, Shonda called the NY Times analysis a reminder that although we’re living in the year 2014, there are still traces of "casual racial bias" and "odd misogyny”, specifically aimed at black people AND women. She said, "In this world in which we all feel we're so full of gender equality and we're a postracial [society] and Obama is president, it's a very good reminder to see the casual racial bias and odd misogyny from a woman written in a paper that we all think of as being so liberal." The ABC producer (and single mother of three) also talked about a time she was tapped to appear at an event and the draft announcement called her, "the most powerful black female showrunner in Hollywood." She crossed out "female" and "black" and sent it back. Gender and race “pisses” her off and here’s why, “They wouldn't say that someone is 'the most powerful white male showrunner in Hollywood. I find race and gender to be terribly important; they're terribly important to who I am. But there's something about the need for everybody else to spend time talking about it … that pisses me off."
She also talked about dealing with fame, as most writers are hardly ever recognized in public. She said, "I don't know too many other writers who people can recognize their faces … so that was a little disturbing for me and my kids," she says, adding with a mix of humor and horror: "My 12-year-old instinctively says to people: 'No autographs, please. She's with her children.' " You can get your copy once it hits newsstands.

NENE LEAKES ROCKS!!!

Tv reality star Nene Leakes stopped by "Extra" and "Access Hollywood Live" to promote the seventh season of "RHOA" and her starring role in "Cinderella on Broadway" (she takes the stage November 25th). GOOD LUCK Lately, there have been rumors that Nene will be paid $1.5 million for the seventh season of RHOA---SHE DEBUNKED THESE CLAIMS ON E!NEWS
. You'll recall that she reportedly earned $1 million for season 6. When asked by EXTRA's Tracey Edmonds, Nene deadpanned, “I was not offered $1.5, let’s be clear, yeah, it’s a lot nicer than that.” Noted! She's VERY RICH! #Nene also hinted that she'd be interested in joined E!'s "Fashion Police" if the opportunity came up. “I have to say Joan is irreplaceable, we all love her, she’s fantastic, she’s given me some amazing advice about my career, I love Joan…If the opportunity comes it’s a possibility I might, I might not…I’m a fashion designer, love fashion and I’ll give you a good read every now and then so it may not be a bad place for me to be.” On "Access Hollywood Live", +Nene didn't pull any punches when it came to certain co-stars. Though she doesn't name names, she's clear that she thinks one is a "whore" and RHOA stars should be "true" Georgia peaches. We know which is which. Catch that!

Obama Cover

President Barack Obama has landed the cover of Rolling Stone. In the issue, Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman comes to the commander-in-chief's defense, explaining why he is a historic success. As President Obama finishes off the final two years of his second term of office, there has been talk surrounding his low approval ratings amongst Americans, despite all of his accomplishments during his stay in the White House. This week, President O’s economic ratings have hit the lowest level of his tenure, reducing to only 24% of Americans who are confident with Obama’s economic record, according to a CNBC survey. In the article, Paul praises our president as “one of the most consequential and, yes, successful presidents in American history” and he broke down the bashing the president endures. he writes Obama faces trash talk left, right and center – literally – and doesn't deserve it. Despite bitter opposition, despite having come close to self-inflicted disaster, Obama has emerged as one of the most consequential and, yes, successful presidents in American history. His health reform is imperfect but still a huge step forward – and it's working better than anyone expected. Financial reform fell far short of what should have happened, but it's much more effective than you'd think. Economic management has been half-crippled by Republican obstruction, but has nonetheless been much better than in other advanced countries. And environmental policy is starting to look like it could be a major legacy. I'll go through those achievements shortly. First, however, let's take a moment to talk about the current wave of Obama-bashing. All Obama-bashing can be divided into three types. One, a constant of his time in office, is the onslaught from the right, which has never stopped portraying him as an Islamic atheist Marxist Kenyan. Nothing has changed on that front, and nothing will. There's a different story on the left, where you now find a significant number of critics decrying Obama as, to quote Cornell West, someone who ''posed as a progressive and turned out to be counterfeit.'' They're outraged that Wall Street hasn't been punished, that income inequality remains so high, that ''neoliberal'' economic policies are still in place. All of this seems to rest on the belief that if only Obama had put his eloquence behind a radical economic agenda, he could somehow have gotten that agenda past all the political barriers that have con- strained even his much more modest efforts. It's hard to take such claims seriously. Finally, there's the constant belittling of Obama from mainstream pundits and talking heads. Turn on cable news (although I wouldn't advise it) and you'll hear endless talk about a rudderless, stalled administration, maybe even about a failed presidency. Such talk is often buttressed by polls showing that Obama does, indeed, have an approval rating that is very low by historical standards. But this bashing is misguided even in its own terms – and in any case, it's focused on the wrong thing. Paul then explains how these low approval ratings don’t necessarily reflect all of the obstacles he overcame and improvements he had for the American people. Yes, Obama has a low approval rating compared with earlier presidents. But there are a number of reasons to believe that presidential approval doesn't mean the same thing that it used to: There is much more party-sorting (in which Republicans never, ever have a good word for a Democratic president, and vice versa), the public is negative on politicians in general, and so on. Obviously the midterm election hasn't happened yet, but in a year when Republicans have a huge structural advantage – Democrats are defending a disproportionate number of Senate seats in deep-red states – most analyses suggest that control of the Senate is in doubt, with Democrats doing considerably better than they were supposed to. This isn't what you'd expect to see if a failing president were dragging his party down. More important, however, polls – or even elections – are not the measure of a president. High office shouldn't be about putting points on the electoral scoreboard, it should be about changing the country for the better. Has Obama done that? Do his achievements look likely to endure? The answer to both questions is yes. Do you agree or disagree? Photo: Rolling Stone

paula patton files .....no

In February that Paula Patton and
Robin Thicke separated but after months of performances and an album dedicated to Patton while she stayed silent on the state of their relationship, TMZ says that Patton has finally decided to file for divorce. According to TMZ, Patton filed today in LA and is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their son, Julian Fuego, who is 4. In the papers, she filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, though there was all kind of talk for months of Thicke stepping out on Patton once that “Blurred Lines” fame got to his head. But the good news (I guess) is that TMZ says the divorce is not a bitter one, so splitting up the couple’s assets won’t be an ugly thing. When speaking to Vanity Fair earlier in the year about what she thought she would do about her marriage, Patton said she had no clue, but she will always love Thicke. “We’ve known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there—always was, and always will be.” I wish them both the best of luck in love in the future. photo credit:TMZ,WENN
