Thieves Break Into Mariah Carey’s LA Mansion, Steal $50,000 Worth Of Accessories

3113235203_1_3_mGjvDSK8
Mariah Carey carted away with $50,000 worth of purses and sunglasses stolen from her Los Angeles mansion during a break-in by burglars yesterday. Read TMZs report below.

Law enforcement sources tell us Mariah’s crib was hit around 3 AM Thursday. It appears they got in through a window or door on an upper floor … a ladder was found in the backyard.
Surprisingly, we’re told the crooks didn’t make off with any fabulous jewelry. Instead, they bagged up $50k worth of purses and sunglasses. Here’s the thing … as expensive as Mimi’s taste is, that’s probably less than 10 items total.
In any event, we’re told no one was home at the time — Mariah is in NYC — and although the burglars tripped a silent alarm … her security didn’t discover the break-in until about 6 or 7 AM.

Lagos Residents Donate Vehicles To Police

#mynameiskay
Ikeja GRA residents in Lagos on Thursday gave two vehicles to the Toyota Hilux police for the purpose of an effective patrol in the area. Receiving a Vehicle, Police Commissioner in Lagos, Ag. CP Imohimi Edgal, praised the residents of the gesture and called for a similar job to help the police return the neighborhood from the hoodlum. ...
The police commissioner also inaugurated the vigilante squad for the area.
“This is community policing and partnership in action. You will recall that we agreed during the town hall meetings that every community should set up vigilante groups
“In partnership, these vigilante men will be attached with armed policemen to make sure that our neighbourhoods are safe, especially between 12 am and 5 am.
“This is to make sure Lagosians not only sleep with their eyes closed but with their windows open if they wish.
“This can be achieved because I believe the people own the neighbourhood and with the partnership, we can kick out the hoodlums and take back our neighbourhoods,” Imohimi said.
He advised the vigilante men to be proactive and quickly identify any black spot in the area for the attention of the police patrol teams.
The CP assured the residents that the operational vehicles would be put to good use and encouraged other CDAs to emulate the gesture.
Mr. Debo Collins, Chairman of GRA Ikeja Residents Association, said that community policing is the way to go and advised the police to involve the people in order to gain their trust.
“There is need to build more on the relationship to gain the people’s trust. This will go a long way in helping the police resolve issues just like it had helped in resolving the Badoo killings in Ikorodu,” he said.
Mr Akin Ademosan, representing corporate residents, urged the police to assist in regulating movements of vehicles and pedestrians in the area.
“One thing I would like the Nigeria Police to do is to come up with a system where everyone in the community can be identified.
“The police should have a database where everyone will be captured which can easily help solve crime cases.” he said. ❤ ❤ 2348050417551 available for a good time ... spill TEA.... Easy on Shade #jaiyeorie

Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down The White House

#mynameiskay

Based on his performance in “Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House,” I think he would have been well cast.
April 1972. With the upcoming US Presidential election coming up in November, the FBI’s Deputy Director, Mark Felt (Neeson) is summoned to the White House. There he meets with John Dean (Michael C. Hall), President Nixon’s White House Counsel, and Attorney General John Mitchell (Stephen Michael Ayers). The conversation turns to the possibility of the President “encouraging” the current FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover, to resign. What are Felt’s thoughts? Felt keeps his thoughts to himself, though he is quick to remind the men that the director has amassed his own set of secret files. A month later, Hoover dies. Felt does what he thinks is best so that, when the White House sends a courier to pick up Hoover’s files his answer is “What files?”
So begins the story that ushered in one of the most embarrassing political episodes in America’s history. One hand not only knows what the other hand is doing, it’s not even sure of its own fingers! As the election gets closer, things get crazier in the bureau. In what is obviously a vote of non-support, instead of promoting Felt to the top job, Nixon appoints L. Patrick Gray (Martin Csokas, who could pass quite easily for Russell Crowe’s younger brother) as “acting” director until a permanent successor for Hoover is found. This makes Felt take a long look at his life, and the bureau, and his displeasure with both. But things begin to go downhill for everyone concerned when a break-in is reported at a Washington D.C. area hotel known as the Watergate.
A nice look at the inner workings of government, the film is based on Felt’s book of the same name. Instead of F.B.I. the name of the game is C.Y.A. with an unlimited number of people on the sidelines ready to pounce on the slightest mistake. Unhappy with Nixon’s interference in the bureau’s investigation of Watergate, Felt begins speaking to Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward (Julian Morris). Unwilling to go on the record Felt gives himself the name “Deep Throat,” hiding in the shadows as the government he loves unravels. Led by Neeson’s performance, the film features great work from everyone involved, including Lane, Sizemore, Noah Wylie and Bruce Greenwood. The film is well paced and, even if you’re familiar with the story, holds enough surprises to keep your attention and helps begin the upcoming film awards season.

Nivea Responds To Backlash Over Billboard With Tagline “For Visibly Fairer Skin”

#mynameiskay
Ghanaian musician Fuse ODG had in an Instagram post called out personal care brand Nivea for an ad campaign promoting a “fairer skin.”
The ad, for the brand’s lotion, featuring former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Omowunmi Akinnifesi, has as its tagline: “For visibly fairer skin.”
Fuse ODG had asked that the billboard be taken down all over Africa, else people would do it for the brand.
However, in a post on Facebook, Nivea has said hey had no intention to “to demean or glorify any person’s needs or preferences in skin care.”
“We respect every consumer’s right to choose products according to their personal preferences,” the brand said, possibly highlighting the fact that some people in this part of the world actually do seek a fairer skin.
Fuse ODG however responded to Nivea’s statement saying that the company missed the point of the backlash. Fuse ODG said people do not have a problem with the product Nivea is selling, but the “ideal” that beauty comes in a “fair” or “light” skin.

University of Florida Students Shut Down White Supremacist Richard Spencer

Gainesville, FL — Over 1000 University of Florida students and other activists from around the state gathered at the University of Florida here, Oct 19, to protest a speech by white supremacist Richard Spencer. In the runup to the event, UF president Fuchs dismissed demands that Spencer’s event be canceled – in light of his white supremacist view. Fuchs argued that the best response to fascists is to ignore them. Florida governor Rick Scott declared a state of emergency, allowing the police to better prepare to repress anti-Nazi protesters.
Inside the event, hundreds of activists, outnumbering the very small fascist audience, disrupted Spencer’s speech for well over an hour with chants of, “Go home Richard Spencer” and “Richard Spencer you can’t hide, you support genocide.” During a Q&A session at the end of the event, a protester asked Spencer whether it hurt when he was punched in the face earlier this year.
Outside the event, hundreds more activists congregated around the barricades set up by police. As white supremacist speech attendees exited, the crowd pursued neo-nazis, skinheads and alt-right activists through the streets of UF shouting “Anytime, anyplace, punch a Nazi in the face.” Some of these Nazis attempted to stand against the crowd but were overpowered and escaped under the protection of the police.
“It’s inspiring seeing so many people gathered here to fight back against hate,” said Kylee Rena, a local high school student. Referencing UF President Fuchs she argued that “silence only enables hate.” Rena added that though this was only her second protest, she planned to continue fighting against racism and the far right.
“We’re not loud enough, we’re not angry enough,” said Reem Baitoon of Florida State University Students for Justice in Palestine. “If we want to get rid of people like Spencer we need to take action to prevent them from being able to spread their views.”
The protest was a rousing success, with Richard Spencer complaining that UF had failed in its attempt to prevent students from disrupting his event. UF spent over $500,000 on security for the event.

Kenyan Election Chief Ezra Chiloba Takes Leave

#mynameiskay

The chief executive of Kenya’s election board, who the opposition has demanded must be fired before a repeat presidential election scheduled for Oct. 26, said Friday he was taking three weeks of leave.
Ezra Chiloba said he had taken a personal decision to take leave in light of the opposition’s demands, without giving more details. He said all arrangements were in place for the election, as ordered by the Supreme Court.
“This is the first time I’m taking leave since my son was born. He turns two years (old) in two weeks’ time,” he told Reuters.
The court annulled the first election, held in August and in which incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta was declared winner, over procedural irregularities.
The opposition, led by Raila Odinga, has said it will boycott the re-run unless several demands, including the sacking of Chiloba, are met.
Odinga met the chairman of the election board, Wafula Chebukati, on Thursday and later told reporters that if there were serious consultations and serious reforms, the opposition could review its boycott.
The board has said the election will go ahead, and Kenyatta has insisted the vote must be held. On Thursday, the president snubbed an invitation to meet Chebukati, saying he would instead spend the time campaigning. ❤ ❤ 2348050417551 available for a good time ... spill TEA.... Michelle Williams Opens Up About Her Long Battle With Depression

#mynameiskay
Michelle Williams has opened up about her long battle with depression since she was 13.
While guest co-hosting CBS’ show The Talk on Wednesday, the 37-year-old singer said she was struggling so much with depression at times while in Destiny’s Child that she “wanted out” of life.
The conversation started after the hosts discussed Demi Lovato opening about her own past substance abuse and mental health issues in her now documentary.
Williams stated that she hadn’t heard many people talk about depression during the early ’00s and when she tried to go to the group’s manager with her feelings, Mathew Knowles, he didn’t understand what her deal was.
“At the age of 25, had I had a name for what I was feeling at the time, I would have disclosed that ‘I’ve been suffering from depression,’” she said. “I didn’t know until I was in my 30s what was going on. I just thought it was growing pains. I just thought, ‘I’m turning into a woman,’ so I’ve been suffering since between the ages of 13 and 15. Like I said, at that age, I didn’t know what to call it.”
“So many people are walking around acting like they’ve got it together and they’re suffering. So for years, I’m in one of the top-selling female groups of all time, suffering with depression. And when I disclosed it to our manager at the time, bless his heart, he was like, ‘Y’all just signed a multi-million dollar deal! You’re about to go on tour! What do you have to be depressed about?’
So I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I’m just tired.’ I went to him but it’s kind of like, he could have been right at the time. I think he wanted me to be grateful, and I was, but I was still sad. So I want to normalize this mental health discussion.”
She went on to say that she felt like her depression was brought on by rough things she’d seen growing up. But because it wasn’t something people talked about a lot, and she didn’t have an outlet to get it off of her chest, she just went to church, prayed about it and then swept it under the rug for quite some time.
“So it got really, really bad,” she said. “It was to the point that I was suicidal. I was to that place where it got so dark and heavy because sometimes you feel like, ‘I’m the provider. I take care of people. I’m not supposed to be feeling this way. What do I do?’ I wanted out.”
While it was something she was able to work through after being in the group, Williams doesn’t blame her former band manager or anyone else in her life for not knowing how to handle her feelings.
“And this is not to say anything bad about him. That’s something normal,” she said. “He’s not the only person in my life who said, ‘What do you have?! No, you’re good! You’re ok!’” she said.
She also wanted to make it clear that depression isn’t someone’s cry for a little bit of attention.
“Depression doesn’t mean lazy,” Williams added. “Self-harm doesn’t mean you want attention. It’s not any of that.” ❤ ❤ 2348050417551 available for a good time ... spill TEA.... Easy on Shade #jaiyeorie

IPOB Urges Igbos To Boycott Anambra Guber Election

#mynameiskay
The IPOB, advised their members in the state of Anambra not to leave between 18:00 and 17:00 on November 18 in an attempt to boycott the country's state elections.

In a statement by the IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group alleged that the Nigeria Government was planning to unleash more killings on them during the Anambra 18th Governorship Election.
The statement said, “This evil plan concocted by the APC government in concert with Nigerian military and supported by unscrupulous South East governors is solely intended to cement their dubious efforts to label the great IPOB a terrorist group. Up till now, all efforts to convince, cajole, intimidate and bribe some countries of the world to designate IPOB a terrorist group has failed.
“They hastily came up with this plan to incriminate IPOB in a violent incident in the hope of turning world public opinion against a peaceful organisation agitating for self-determination through the instrumentality of a referendum.
“IPOB intelligence unit successfully infiltrated the meeting where this bloodbath was being planned. We uncovered the secret venue in Lagos where APC Party stalwarts from the South East and South South geopolitical zones met last week to finalise these murderous attacks.
“The meeting was attended by former Governor of River State Chief Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Minister of Science and Technology Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, Labour Minister Dr Chris Ngige, Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, former Abia State governor Dr Orji Uzor Kalu and Chief Raphael Lebeanya Uwazuruike the leader of Biafra Independence Movement (BIM).
“At this meeting, they resolved to provide arms and ammunition to a group of men that will be assembled by Ralph Uwazuruike and his BIM group since they need to give the attackers some form of Biafra colouration.

M.I Abaga Takes American Rapper, Nas To Court

#mynameiskay

According to the lawsuit, in 2013, Nas and Goodman entered an agreement to contribute a verse to a track from M.I. The details of the deal were that Nas was supposed to mention “M.I, Chocolate City, Nigeria, Queens, New York—NAS’s hometown—, Mandela, Trayvon Martin, and the struggles of Africans and African Americans” in his verse.

Nas went on to deliver a verse but it didn’t mention any of the subject matter Chocolate City had asked for.The Nigerian label requested that the Queens rapper to re-record the verse, and three year later, it hasn’t happened despite them delivering the $50,000 payment. Hence, that’s why they’re now suing him, they mention.

In the lawsuit, Chocolate City is very complementary to Nas. They called him “a highly respected lyricist in the music industry” and wrote that they wanted a verse from him “because of NAS’s exceptional talent as a lyric writer.” Unfortunately, according to Chocolate City, that talent and lyricism was not evident in the verse they got.

Trump Blasts Rep. Frederica Wilson For ‘Secretly’ Listening To His Phone Call With Widow

Trump accused Rep. Frederica Wilson of Florida of “secretly” listening to a phone call he had with Myeshia Johnson, the widow of one of the four US soldiers killed in Niger earlier this month.
“The Fake News is going crazy with wacky Congresswoman Wilson (D), who was SECRETLY on a very personal call, and gave a total lie on content,” Trump tweeted on Thursday night.
Wilson represents the district of Sgt. Lpeople a David Johnson, one of the four soldiers reportedly killed in Niger after an ambush by ISIS-affiliated militants. Following his controversial response to the deaths of the soldiers, Trump called Johnson’s widow, Myeshia, on her phone. Wilson listened in on the call through a speakerphone inside a limousine.
Wilson, who was reportedly invited to listen to the conversation, alleged Trump said David “knew what he signed up for … but when it happens it hurts anyway.”
After the phone call, Wilson accused Trump of “insensitive” comments, adding that it “was almost like joking.”
Trump later tweeted that Wilson “totally fabricated” her description of the call, and hours later, doubled-down on his denial: “Didn’t say what that congresswoman said. Didn’t say it all. She knows it,” Trump said.
Wilson reportedly mentored David when he was younger, and developed a close relationship with Johnson.
