Shareholders Back A Proposal To Remove Mark Zuckerberg As Chairman

Several public that hold shares in Facebook Inc backed a proposal to remove Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg as chairman, saying the social media giant mishandled several high-profile scandals.
According to a report by NBC, state treasurers from Illinois, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania, and New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, co-filed the proposal. They joined hedge fund Trillium Asset Management, which bought it to the table in June.


The proposal, set to be voted on at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in May 2019, is asking Facebook’s board to make the role of board chair an independent position. “Facebook plays an outsized role in our society and our economy. They have a social and financial responsibility to be transparent that’s why we’re demanding independence and accountability in the company’s boardroom,” Stringer said.
The proposal said lack of independent board chair and oversight has contributed to Facebook “mishandling” a number of severe controversies, including Russian meddling in U.S. elections and the Cambridge Analytica data leak.

“Everyone Knows When Leo Messi Is Angry” – Barcelona Football Director Abidal

Barcelona director of football Eric Abidal has revealed Lionel Messi might not be much of talker but knows how to let teammates know he is angry.
Abidal praised Messi as a “key player for us and for the dressing room”.
Lionel Messi is widely known as one of the best players in the world and his performances for Barcelona have helped him build that reputation.
The 31-year-old has been with the Catalan club for over a decade and was handed the captain’s armband after Andres Iniesta’s exit.
Messi is vocal about the chances of winning La Liga, Champions League and Copa Del Rey treble this season.
And Abidal has now revealed how Messi let’s his teammates know he is angry.
“He’s an example as a captain,” Abidal told Barcelona’s official website.
“Not just talent-wise, also as a person.
“He doesn’t talk much, but he shows us everything on the field. He’s a key player for us and for the dressing room.
“We always say that Leo doesn’t need to talk. Everyone knows when he’s angry and everyone knows when he’s happy.
“His role in the team is important for the young players and the new signings.
“Leo’s story is a beautiful one, but he’s shown that here at Barça, with hard work, lots of things are possible.
“He’s a great player and thanks to him the level of the other players increases.”
However, Barcelona have not secured a domestic victory since last months 2-1 win over Real Sociedad.
And currently sit 2nd in La Liga ahead of this weekend fixtures.

Ooni Of Ife Reveals Why He Married A Prophetess As She Crosses Over Blood

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has cleared the air on why he decided to marry a prophetess.
The palace of the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has given reason why the king picked Olori Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi.
There was great joyousness at Ile-Ife, Osun State as the Ooni received his new wife at the palace, a day after he marked his 44th birthday.


According to a statement issued to daily post by the Director, Media and Public Affairs of the palace, Comrade Moses Olafare, confirms Naomi as the Ooni’s new wife.
He also revealed that the marriage rights were done privately in Akure, Ondo State and she was later received at the Ooni’s palace.

“Her Majesty, Olori Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi is the new Yeyeluwa Oodua.
“Necessary rites fully performed,” the statement read.


And as part of the ceremony, Olori Prophetess Naomi had to cross a spill of blood as one of the rites she had to performed as she moved into her husband, the Ooni of Ife’s palace .

The Arise Walk for Life, precedes the 10th edition of the Arise Women Conference, took place at Eko Atlantic to RCCG COD with the Convener of Arise Women, Pastor Siju Iluyomade.


Nigerian celebrities such as DJ Xclusive, Chigurl, Monalisa Chinda,  DJ Cuppy, Daniel Amokachi, Adebola Williams, DJ Jimmy Jatt, and others in attendance.
The 7km walk promotes healthy living among Lagos residents started off at 7am at the Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island.


Attendees in pink everything took part in other wellness activities including dancing competitions, exercises, and more, creating a fun and experiential atmosphere.

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has assured people of the state that the next All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor will sustain his programmes and policies in the state.

Governor Ambode lost his second term bid to ex-Commissioner, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Ambode spoke while addressing the gathering at the 9th Tradesmen and Artisans Week & Graduation Ceremony for Re-Trained Artisans which held in Ikeja.

He said pointed out that the programme and policies of his administration were already embedded in APC manifesto, describing it as a great party.

Ambode was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello.

He said, “You can therefore be rest assured of the continued sustenance of this programme by an All Progressives Congress-controlled government in Lagos State.

 

“We thank all organisations and individuals from the organised private sector that have joined hands with us in our determination to improve the competence and socio-economic condition of our artisans.”

Recall that we reported a few weeks ago, that the Covenant University female students who were accused by male student Emmanuel Adooh, of making themselves available for the plan to expel him from the school before his graduation, reacted to the allegation.
Effanga Marilyn confirmed that she had sex with Emmanuel Adooh. Also corroborating the story, Omotayo Dada disclosed that after the report went viral, she began receiving threats. This came after Emmanuel Adooh who took the school to court with SAN Falana as his lawyer accused the Covenant University female students eventually won the case and went on Twitter to expose the incident.

“Nigerian Trade” is a fast-paced crime drama inspired by true events and according to Jade Osiberu, it is based on extensive research into one of the most lucrative forms of illegal trade in Nigeria – Kidnap for Ransom. The story follows Dike Maduka aka Eric, a notorious genius billionaire kidnapper who has evaded arrest for 2 decades and the high-stakes investigation into his activities lead by a fast-rising police officer and head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Superintendent Khalid Abubakar.The cast list for this movie is slowly rolling out as Mercy Aigbe, Rita Dominic and Blossom Chukwujekwu were recently spotted on set. Mercy got a cameo appearance playing ‘Madam Bose’. .

According to the producer and director Jade, a lot of research has gone into the project with the ultimate goal of being able to compete in the international film industry.

“According to African Insurance Organization, in 2016 Nigeria overtook Colombia and Mexico as the global capital for Kidnap for Ransom, and as terrifying as this is, it’s a big informal albeit illegal industry, with a thriving business model and multiple target markets. We have been researching this project for about a year now and I’m really excited, first because reality is sometimes even more gripping than fiction and that’s certainly the case for Nigerian Trade and then because the studio’s (Foresight Global Films) ambition is to make a film set in Nigeria that can truly compete internationally. “
