Alaka Bridge To Be Closed From Saturday Night For Repairs

According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Ladi Lawanson, ”only the service lane from the National Stadium will be available to motorists desirous of using the Eko Bridge to connect the Lagos Island. Similarly, motorists can also use the Eric Moore Road through Brewery to exit at Costain”.The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has announced that Alaka inwards Eko Bridge will be closed to traffic from 11p.m on Saturday 24th November 2018 to 5:00am on Sunday 25th November 2018 and also on Monday, 26th November 2018 from 11:00pm to 5:00am on Tuesday, 27th November 2018 for emergency rehabilitation of the deteriorated road pavement.
The statement said that the exercise does not deter motorists coming from the Lagos Island using the Alaka Bridge inward Stadium.
It appealed to all road users, especially night crawlers, to exercise caution and obey all traffic signs for smooth traffic flow during the rehabilitation period which has been deliberately fixed for the night in order to minimise discomfort to road users.
The State Government said it has directed all relevant agencies, including LASTMA and security personnel, to ensure free flow of traffic and safety of all workers and materials deployed for the exercise.

“I was once like you people because I started from this school. My music career started here and I will always remember having the school as part of my foundation years.
“I usually sing in the school with my friends during breaks and I can never forget the impact the school had in my life,” he said.

2019: Why Other Candidates Must Step Down For Me – Rev Chris Okotie

Reverend Chris Okotie, pastor of the Household of God Church and presidential candidate of Fresh Party for the 2019 elections, in this interview, that all the other presidential candidates need to step down for him so he can set up an Interim National Government. This, Okotie says, is the only way to take Nigeria out the woods
Daily Trust: In recent times, you have been speaking on what you believe is the need for Nigeria to have an Interim National Government (ING). What exactly is the proposition all about?
Reverend Chris Okotie: What I am saying is that the current arrangement in the political hemisphere is not workable because the political class has refused to recognise the seriousness of the existential adversary that confronts us at this time. We are at a juncture in our national evolution where we must come to a halt temporarily and have an ad hoc measure, which is the Interim National Government, to deal with the fundamental issues that beset our nation, and to restructure and change the Constitution. No extant government can do these things. That’s what I’m saying.
DT: Doesn’t your idea render the Fresh Party’s presidential ticket, which you have been given, useless?
Okotie: Yes, I already have the Fresh Party’s presidential ticket, and that means we shall be participating in the presidential election slated for February 2019. But what I am saying is that all other parties should not field candidates against me in the 2019 presidential election so that it would be easy for me to set up the Interim National Government. If they don’t field candidates, it means I have won and what I’d do immediately is set up an ING instead of the normal or ordinary government that is put in place, where we have the legislature, judiciary and all of that that is not workable. An interim government will not need a legislature and it is at this time that we can redesign the political landscape.
DT: Would you be executing this idea on the platform of the Fresh Party?
Okotie: I have to run for election on the platform of a political party. After the election has been held, the creation of the Interim National Government is another step.
DT: How do you think this would work out during the election?
Okotie: Since it would be based on consensus, it would be based on the reality of the time. By the time the 2019 election holds, I am sure we shall be coming to a point to realise that the only way forward is to have a paradigm shift, and that has to be the ING.
DT: But many have argued that the ING idea is not recognized by the Nigerian Constitution. How do you hope to navigate the legal challenge?
Okotie: That is totally irrelevant. The Constitution was created by men. It can be suspended and we can put an ad hoc mechanism in place to legalise the machinery of an interim government. It can be done. It is not impossible.

‘Robert Mugabe Can No Longer Walk’ – Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa

Zimbabwe’s ex-leader Robert Mugabe is in Singapore for medical care and now unable to walk because of ill health and old age, President Emmerson Mnangagwa .
Mnangagwa told his ZANU-PF party supporters at a rally that the 94-year-old Mugabe had been receiving medical care in Singapore for the past two months.


“He (Mugabe) is now old. Of course, he now is unable to walk but whatever he asks for we will provide,” Mnangagwa told hundreds of supporters in Mugabe’s home area of Zvimba, about 100 km (60 miles) west of the capital Harare.
“We are looking after him. He is the founding father of the nation of Zimbabwe. He is our founding father of free Zimbabwe.”
He said Mugabe was expected back in the country at the end of this month.
“He should have been back on October 25 but his health was not yet good,” Mnangagwa said.
“But yesterday we got a message that he thinks he is getting better. He will come back on 30 November.”
This month marked a year after Mugabe was toppled in a brief military intervention to end his 37-year grip on power.
Mnangagwa took over from Mugabe and was elected in disputed July 30 elections. He has vowed to revive Zimbabwe’s ailing economy by attracting much needed foreign direct investment.

John Legend Defends Rita Ora’s Lip-Synced Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Performance

Twitter users called out Rita Ora, 27, for lip syncing during her performance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade — and the “All of Me” singer, 39, wants everyone to understand that Ora had no choice in the matter.

“Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don’t have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance,” Legend tweeted in response to a fan pointing out that he also lip synced.

“Hope y’all enjoyed it anyway,” he added. “Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100% live!”

The “Anywhere” artist followed up, “Fun fact @johnlegend thank you for clarifying what I was about to also tweet. It’s annoying for us but anyway!”

“All my shows are 100 percent live always have been!” she continued. “When you come to a ORA show get ready! Back to holidays! Have a good one guys!”
Singer Simona Milinyte also sided with Ora.

“We all know that Rita Ora can sing! Don’t be so quick to judge!” she tweeted. “Idk, but it’s possible that tv streaming was late or she was getting different playback or that the sound she was hearing in her headphone was different from what we heard.”

A curious fan asked Legend, “do you actually sing while you lip sync or do you just move your mouth?”

“I sang exactly as I would’ve if you could hear me,” Legend answered. “I figure that’s the only way to believably do it. But I’m not an expert in these matters.”

“If people didn’t know you all lip synced by now oh well,” another fan said to Legend. “I lost all faith when I learned there was lip syncing on Soul Train in 1997.”

“True, but… I actually convinced Soul Train to let me sing live when I was on there back in the Get Lifted days,” Legend said.

Legend, Ora and the other Macy’s Day performers also braved freezing temperatures: In some parts of the Northeast, Thursday marked the coldest Thanksgiving in decades, according to ABC News.

Let me tell you a short story about this video. This was 2014 gidifest, I was 18 years of age trying arrange my life. I was her backup at that time. I remember her saying we should be at Elegushi at 1pm for sound check, due to traffic we got there by 3pm, it was time for sound check and she didn’t show up.

We stayed at the beach hungry, thirsty and dirty from 3pm till 2am in the morning when she came with the dancers and performed. And after her performance, she left with her dancers, took them to her house to eat and sleep and we had to stay there till 5am before the male backup WALE was kind enough to drop me off at ojuelegba. Oh DIDI!!! Just continue doing what you do. It looks like it’s taking so much time but just focus.

World’s most expensive painting goes missing

A Leonardo Da Vinci painting which sold for $450million last year is ‘lost’, prompting art lovers to plead with the Saudi Royals to confirm its location.
‘Salvator Mundi’ by the great artist hasn’t been seen in public since it was ‘acquired’ by Louvre Abu Dhabi via the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Now, scholars and restorers of the painting are growing increasingly concerned about the painting’s whereabouts,Daily Mail reports.

Professor Martin Kemp, the Da Vinci scholar who helped authenticate the piece a decade ago, told The Times:

‘Nobody outside the immediate Arab hierarchy knows where it is.’

In 2005, the painting was acquired for less than $10,000  at an auction in New Orleans by a consortium of art dealers
When asked where the 500-year-old painting might be, he rather worryingly responded: ‘I have no idea. The mystery of its location is, of course, disturbing.’

Man finds $7.5m in storage unit he bought for $500

Storage Wars” star Dan Dotson said he just discovered that he sold a storage unit containing $7.5 million in cash for a measly $500,NYPost reports.

“She walked up and told me her husband works with a guy who bought a unit from me for $500 and found a safe inside,” Dotson said.
The woman said the new unit owner, who wasn’t identified, took the safe to a locksmith who broke it open and discovered $7.5 million in cash.
Things got complicated when the new owner was contacted by an attorney representing the former owners, who offered a $600,000 reward in exchange for the cash.

The new owners declined the initial offer before settling on $1.2 million to return the remaining $6.3 million.
The Dotsons’ co-star, Bargain Hunters Thrift Store owner Rene Nezhoda, said the cash was most likely mafia or drug cartel-related.
“If you find money like that, there’s probably a reason it isn’t in the bank,” Nezhoda told The Blast.

Football Leaks claim Ramos 'failed a drugs test after 2017 Champions League final but the results were covered up by UEFA'

According to the latest batch of Football Leaks reports, Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos did not pass a drug test after the 2017 Champions League winning 4-1 against Juventus. German newspaper Der Spiegel reports that Ramos urine sample contained traces of dexamethasone and that results were covered by UEFA.
Cortisone preparation is on the list kept by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) of substances that are banned in competition. Administration of dexamethasone before a match is allowed but a team physician should report its use in doping control forms but this was absent. Real Madrid doctor has agreed to give Ramos two injections of dexamethasone one day before the end of June last year, one in his shoulder and another in his knee. He then noted in his doping report that Ramos had been treated with an anti-inflammatory drug that contained Betamethasone, which is also on the list of WADA's forbidden substances in competition. UEFA accepted the doctor's justification and claimed to have been 'in line' with the WADA code. Football flights claim that when they contacted Real Madrid and Ramos they did not have any comments to make. Football Release Statements also claim that former Ramos Ronaldo's mate complained that he was always opted to test when UEFA came to the club's training ground for casual testing in February 2017. Real Madrid accused UEFA testers of inadequacy and claimed that anti-doping officer Ronaldo dropped twice with a needle without finding a vein. UEFA, Real Madrid and Ronaldo keep all their comments when asked by Der Spiegel about the incident.

Steph Curry walks away unscathed from back-to-back car accidents on Friday after his black Porsche was hit by 2 cars in approximately 15 minutes.

According to Mail Online, Curry was driving his black Panamera Turbo S Porsche, worth $185,000, when a silver Lexus lost control and veered into him on Highway 24 in Oakland, California. Congratulations to our son at his graduation ceremony - Adegboyega, you have been such a blessing to all who have known you from the day that you were born, and friend, you have always made us so proud, especially as you convocated yesterday with first class honours Bsc Civil Engineering.
