The new safety features, includes Noonlight, a panic button that alerts safety authorities if something goes wrong during a date, Photo Verification, and an easily accessible in-app Safety Center.

How Noonlight works: If a date goes wrong, users will be able to trigger an alarm via the Noonight. The user will be instructed to enter a code. If they don’t, they’ll receive a text from one of Noonlight’s dispatchers. Burkina Faso to recruit civilians in fight against groups

Burkina Faso's parliament has approved legislation allowing the military to use civilian volunteers in the fight against armed groups.

Legislators in the West African nation on Thursday allowed the "understaffed" military to arm civilians, a move that underscores how outnumbered the country's soldiers are amid rising attacks.

Defence Minister Cherif Sy said the civilian recruits will undergo two weeks of training. He said the volunteers must be 18 years old and will undergo a "moral investigation" before being allowed to serve.

Singapore has been ranked the 4th least corrupt country in the Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2019.

The CPI, which started in 1995, ranks the countries by its perceived levels of public sector corruption.

Countries are then given a score from a scale of 0, for highly corrupt, to 100, for very clean. The Republic tied the fourth spot with Sweden and Switzerland with a score of 85.

US imposes new 'birth tourism' visa rules for pregnant women

President Donald Trump's administration on Thursday published new visa rules aimed at restricting "birth tourism", in which women travel to the United States to give birth so their children can have a coveted US passport.

Applicants will be denied tourist visas if they are determined by consular officers to be coming to the US primarily to give birth, according to the rules in the Federal Register.

It is a bigger hurdle to overcome, proving they are travelling to the US because they have a medical need and not just because they want to give birth in the country.

Those with medical needs will be treated like other foreigners coming to the US for medical treatment and must prove they have the money to pay for it - including transportation and living expenses.

Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter finalize their divorce after 21-years of marriage

Wendy Williams and her estranged husband Kevin Hunter are officially divorced after 21 years of marriage. 

 

According to documents obtained by E! News. Williams' and Kevin Hunter's divorce was finalized by a judge on Tuesday. 

Their legal settlement agreement states that neither the 55-year-old television host nor her husband will pay alimony. The documents also state that Williams will remain the sole owner of the couple's production company and that all of his shares in the business will be transferred to her.

South Korea’s 1st transgender soldier thrown out of the army

South Korea’s first transgender soldier who underwent a gender reassignment surgery to become a woman has been thrown out of the army
Sgt. Byun Hui-su, who had the operation in Thailand in 2019 while on leave, had expressed hope of continuing to serve in the female corps before a military panel voted to kick her out .

The army said in a statement that while it will make efforts to protect soldiers’ human rights and prevent discrimination, the surgery left Byun unable to continue to serve, a ruling that Byun Hui-su had vowed to “fight.”
