The world of pro wrestling saw the passing of his father. The Rock has received numerous condolences from fans, friends, and fellow pro wrestlers.

Johnson gave a very intimate tribute to his father who broke color barriers in the world of sports entertainment and paved the way for the likes of himself and others. The following statement was posted by The Rock.
“I love you. You broke color barriers, became a ring legend and trail blazed your way thru this world. I was the boy sitting in the seats, watching and adoring you, my hero from afar,” Johnson wrote. “You lived a very full, very hard, barrier-breaking life and left it all in the ring. I love you dad and I’ll always be your proud and grateful son. Go rest high.”
