R.Kelly’s former tour manager, Demetrius Smith, has revealed that the R&B singer got married to the late pop star Aaliyah at 15 because he believed it when she alleged pregnancy.
Smith made this revelation in Brooklyn federal court on Friday, which marked the third of trail for 54-year-old R.Kelly on grounds of s.e.x crimes.
During his testimony, Smith stated that the marriage was also part of a bid for R.Kelly to avoid going to jail at that time, New York Post reported.

Elon Musk, Tesla boss ended Tesla’s AI Day presentation by unveiling a functioning robot that he called the Tesla Bot, which eerily resembled a human dancer in a suit.

Anthony Joshua has been tipped to unleash “devastating” power on Oleksandr Usyk in their world heavyweight showdown, according to Britain’s David Haye.
Joshua defends his WBA, IBF and WBO belts against Usyk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25, in a bout that some have described as tricky given the Ukrainian’s undisputed skill.

Facebook sees its latest launch as an early step toward building the futuristic “metaverse” that CEO Mark Zuckerberg has touted in recent weeks.
Metaverse is a virtual-reality space in which users can interact with a computer-generated environment and other users.
The world’s largest social network has invested heavily in virtual and augmented reality, developing hardware such as its Oculus VR headsets, working on AR glasses and wristband technologies, and buying a bevy of VR gaming studios, including BigBox VR.
Gaining dominance in this space, which Facebook bets will be the next big computing platform, will allow it to be less reliant in the future on other hardware makers, such as Apple Inc, the company has said.

Speaking to UK’s Candis Magazine, the award-winning British actor said that he did not want “to leave great sums to the next generation” and plans to give his riches away instead.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has charged a dean in the University of Calabar, Prof. Francisca Ime Bassey, to court over her alleged involvement in a contract fraud of ₦20.6 million.
Prof. Bassey, who is the Dean and Director of the Pre-Degree Programme of the university, was arraigned on Wednesday at the Cross River State High Court Six, Calabar, by the Commission for allegedly holding private interests in multiple contracts awarded by the school to four companies directly owned by her.
The Commission, in 10 counts filed before Justice Elias O. Abua, noted that the alleged crime happened between 2013 and 2017 and violated Section 12 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.
The charge sheet revealed that Prof. Bassey at different times benefited from a series of contracts totalling ₦20,679,324.63 awarded to Bakuf Ventures, Rivet Investment Nigeria Ltd, Joebas Enterprises, and Arumo Nigeria Ltd.
It was found that contracts amounting to ₦7,819,916.24 were allegedly awarded to Bakuf Ventures on four occasions between 2013 and 2017.
The institution also awarded contracts worth N4.7 million to Rivet Investment Nigeria Ltd between 2013 and 2015.

Yeni and Seun Kuti, have responded to Baba Ani’s allegation against Femi Kuti, giving the lie to what they regard as an attempt to divide their family.
They stopped short of calling him a bloody liar.
Lekan Animashaun, aka Baba Ani and former Fela’s band manager who recently celebrated his 85th birthday, had alleged in an interview with Arise TV that Femi barred him from entering The New Afrika Shrine because he refused to join his (Femi’s) band. Baba Ani said he preferred to work with Seun since Femi was not someone he would love to work with.
His words: “I was banned from entering the shrine by Femi. When Fela died, and Beko, who was then the manager of the band, was in prison. On two occasions, Femi called me privately, asking me if I was going to join him, or his uncle and Seun. So, I told him that you are the most senior son of Fela, and everything Fela left behind is in your hands. I was not cool with the questions.
“As time went by, he saw that I was more with Seun and the Egypt 80 band… Mind you, this is a young man I know very well. So, I decided to go with Seun. I was mentoring Seun, even before Fela died. So, I think that was my offense.
“The very first day at the Egypt 80 band, because there was a quarrel and they had to go to court, the judge in charge of the case settled the matter in the chambers, and somewhere along the line, Seun was asked to start coming to play at the shrine.
“On the very first day the band was going to play there, I got to Kalakuta, Fela’s house in Ikeja. I went upstairs to meet Seun and he told me he wouldn’t like me to be present at the show. I asked why, he said anytime he was discussing with his egbons (sic), and he mentioned his name, what they used to say was unprintable. Kang Hyo-won, the chief producer of several of the group’s megahits including “Blood Sweat & Tears”, “DNA” and “Idol”, made more than 40 billion won ($34.2 million) in the January to July period, a regulatory filing by his agency HYBE showed.

This is the moment a Russian woman threw her one-day-old baby daughter into a rubbish bin.
The woman, who is yet to be identified, was filmed on CCTV chucking the plastic bag holding the newborn baby into a bin.
Fortunately, when police found the newborn in Moscow earlier this month, she was still alive.
In the CCTV footage, the woman is seen walking to the bin and placing a bag inside before hurrying away and looking around so to check if she is being watched.
It is unclear who called the police, but officers arrived on the scene soon afterwards and found the baby girl wrapped in a jacket inside a plastic bag.
The baby, still alive, was sent to a medical centre to be checked by doctors and currently remains in their care in a stable condition, according to reports.

The Biden administration on Sunday froze Afghan government reserves held in U.S. bank accounts, blocking the Taliban from accessing billions of dollars held in U.S. institutions, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The decision was made by Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen and officials in the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, the people said.
The State Department was also involved in discussions over the weekend, with officials in the White House monitoring the developments.
An administration official said in a statement, “Any Central Bank assets the Afghan government have in the United States will not be made available to the Taliban.”
The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss government policy not yet made public.

RMD, has shared experience of how he almost abandoned the movie production ‘King Of Boys‘ sequel because of his director Kemi Adetiba.
Sharing the movie’s official trailer, which is set to premiere on Netflix in few days, RMD said on the last day of filming, he had done over 15 hours, but Kemi Adetiba was not done with the production of his scene.
The actor said Kemi Adetiba pushed him to his limit, and it was a tense moment for him, but he decided to keep quiet even when he was raging inside.
According to RMD, his colleague Sola Sobowale had to ask if he could continue with the movie seeing the situation of things at the movie location.
“On the last day of my filming KOB. I probably had done a little over 15 hours. It was past 2am and I had a 7am flight to catch that morning but @kemiadetiba my director was not done.
We kept on, at about 3am she knew she had pushed me to my limit. It was a tense moment. I was quiet but raging inside.
@solasobowale came to talk to me to know if I could continue and just finish even though I had at this time probably done like 17 hours or thereabout.
Kemi walks up to me to say she knows she had pushed too far and if I
left the set she won’t hold it against me, having gone over my time on
set and all. I looked at everything on that set and everybody waiting to
know if the shoot would continue with me or not.

According to him, these same housemates will nominate you for eviction and when you are evicted they will run to come and hug you to show love and express happiness if you are saved but pretend to be grieving if you’re evicted.
Adding that it has been like that since the beginning of the show and it’s still going on in the current season as some people pretend to be happy when someone they nominated is saved and pretend to be sad when the person is evicted.

the so-called controversial provisions in a proposed bill in the
National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Act, the
Director-General/CEO of agency, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi has proven to be
forthright and focused tech savvy.
Kashifu Abdullahi early in the year disclosed that to keep up with the pace of innovation that has swept the country, there should be a realignment of the Act with “tenets and ideals of the Fourth Industrial Revolution” and Nigeria’s Digital Economy Policy.
He said the objectives of NITDA’s Act has always been to create a regulatory framework for the development of the Nigerian information technology sector and digital economy, including promoting and implementation of policies that support indigenous content, access to digital services, investments in the sector, adoption of emerging technology, innovation, research and development, including the rights of the citizens and national interest.

Tottenham named identical twins, Michael and Matthew Craig in a men’s first team match day squad.
The brothers were both named on a youthful substitutes’ bench for UEFA Europa Conference League play-off, first leg against Paços de Ferreira in Portugal.
The 2003-born twins have shone in the club’s Academy set-up over the last few years and signed their first professional contracts with the north London side towards the end of last season.
Both of them play as central midfielders, although Matthew can also play at centre-half.
Matthew joined the club at Under-12 level, while Michael, formerly Arsenal’s Under-12s, joined his brother at Tottenham in the Under-13s.

2 underaged herders have been arrested by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, for flouting the government’s directive on open grazing in the state.
The six-year-old herders were arrested for harassing a septuagenarian in Kajola area of Akure South Local Government area of Ondo State after leading their cows into her farm.
It was gathered that the little herders identified as Audu Ibrahim and Musa Ibrahim who are twins, threatened the 70-year-old farmer, Mrs Victoria Ajayi with a cutlass.
According to the septuagenarian, she was inside her room, when her grandson informed her that cows have invaded their farm.

Everton forward, Demarai Gray has said that he lost the love for football during the final six months of his stay at Leicester City, causing him to make “wrong decisions”.
Gray left Leicester City for Bayer Leverkusen in January, ending a five-year spell at the King Power Stadium but is now back to the Premier League with Everton.
The winger broke out of favour in Brendan Rodgers’s team and could not play his way even onto the bench.
