3 More Roundabouts To Be Removed In Lekki - Ambode

Lagos State Governor, Ambode on Wednesday assured that his administration will complete the ongoing construction of Ajah Flyover by the end of May 2017.

 

 He revealed the plans of government to remove three more roundabouts in Lekki-Ajah corridor to ease vehicular movement.

Governor Ambode received the management of Chevron Nigeria Limited led by its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Jeffrey Ewing, said the roundabouts would be removed starting from next week, adding that the action was in line with the resolve of government to totally eliminate traffic in the axis.

The  roundabouts, according to Governor Ambode, are Igbo Efon, Chevron and Third Roundabout.

He said since assumption of office, his administration had tried as much as possible to improve on the business environment, and assured that government would continue to invest in security and infrastructure to make life comfortable for residents and investors.

“We have tried to improve services within the State and the area of operation of Chevron which is the Lekki axis is not left out. Few weeks back, we improved on the traffic management towards that axis and we believe that the move would also enhance productivity of the people.

“I also like to use this opportunity to say that because of the impact that we have seen in the elimination of roundabouts in the Lekki axis, we have actually approved another exercise and starting from next week, we will commence the elimination of additional three roundabouts in the axis most especially Chevron, Igbo Efon and Third Roundabout. We believe doing that will totally eliminate traffic in that axis and we hope to also open the Ajah Flyover before the end of May,” Governor Ambode said.

Harvard university denies Senator Dino Melaye ever attended

According to Sahara reporters, Senator Dino Melaye did not graduate from Harvard University, Boston, United States.

The Senator who graduated from the University of Zaria with a degree in Geography had only bribed his way out of the University.

Harvard University in Boston, United States, on Tuesday debunked a claim by Senator Dino Melaye that he was a student in prestigious Ivy League school, the Registrar’s Office immediately dismissing the suggestion as soon as an official cross-checked it.

The Harvard Kennedy School of Educational Leadership confirmed that Dino Melaye presented himself in November 2016 only for a one-week seminar in leadership.  Asked if that qualifies as academic achievement, the respondent said “No,” adding that the seminar also doesn’t qualify anyone to become a Harvard alumnus.

Following a motion by Senator Ali Ndume asking the Senate’s Ethics and Privileges Committee to investigate allegations that Melaye didn’t properly graduate from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria, Melaye had bragged that he has at least eight postgraduate degrees.

Mr. Melaye has been caught in a major certificate scandal in which Examination Officers at the Department of Geography, ABU, where Melaye took undergraduate classes, confirmed that he did not graduate from the institution.  They went further to say that the documents he presented to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) were manipulated between Melaye his then Head of Department, Prof. David Ogbonna.

The Examination Officers pointed out that Mr. Melaye was registered in the university as “Daniel Jonah O. Melaye,” a name they said was neither in the graduation brochure of ABU when his set graduated, nor found in any other graduation document.

In particular, the Exam officers pointed to how during his final year, the HOD added two course units to boost Melaye’s CGPA.

Mr. Melaye had reportedly bribed university officials to produce fake transcripts, on the basis of which he attended a program at the University of Jos, the University of Abuja, and currently at ABU.

Several of Melaye’s classmates and comrades also disputed his claim that he was a Students’ Union Government President at ABU, at best, they stated Melaye was a president of the National Association of Geography Students (NAGS) from where he was impeached for fraud.

Another claim that the Senator studied at the London School of Economics could not be verified as of the time of going to press.

Young Nigerian Builds First Nuclear Energy Fusor

  Steven Udotong, has invented a nuclear energy fusor, making him the first black student to attain such feat.
A fusor is a device that uses an electric field to heat ions to suitable condition for nuclear fusion. The machine generates an electric potential difference between two metal cages inside a vacuum.


Udotong, a 16-year-old high school junior in Southern New Jersey, in an interview on blavity.com, expressed the hope that his invention would inspire a cleaner, more environmentally-friendly future for all.

To achieve the feat, Udotong created a GoFundMe page to raise 1,500 dollars for supplies, a goal he achieved in just one month.

He said “I grew curious after we flew by the topic of nuclear energy in my chemistry class last year. I decided to do more research and I soon learned that I could actually make a nuclear fusor. “That sparked my interest. I want people to know that there are alternate methods for obtaining power and energy.

“I want to examine more clean energy products and stop the fear of the word “nuclear,” Steven shared in an interview on The Well, Jopwell’s Digital Magazine, with his older brother, Emmanuel, a computer science student at Princeton University. Nuclear energy is a lot safer than people think,” he added.

This past summer, Steven was accepted into Yale Young Global Scholar Programme, which allowed him to pursue the engineering workshop at the Singapore campus. He was one of three students from New Jersey to attend the workshop.

He said that he realised he could be the first black student to build a nuclear reactor.

He added that “I was motivated because I knew that there were many other ways for minorities to pursue success. Sports and music were not the only avenues for us. “There’s room for us. There’s a need for us to participate in academia, business, art, law, medicine, and yes, nuclear energy. I hope this project will become an example of academic excellence as vehicle of accomplishment for black students.”

The first part of Udotong’s invention was done but he still needed to raise money to complete it. He added that when he was done with that, he planned to enter it in science fairs and competitions for a chance to pursue scholarship opportunities.

His ultimate goal, he said, was to start a conversation on state and federal level, about more serious action toward adopting alternative energy sources.

A Photographer calls out UBA staff for sleeping with his sister's husband

A Nigerian photographer, Olaseyi Arisekola took to his Instagram page to call out a staff of UBA for allegedly sleeping with his sister's husband, sending him nude photos.

He shared a photo of the lady and a message he sent to UBA concerning the issue. He also said the nude photos will be released before the end of today. Read all he posted below...

I have been trying to reach out on social media but little response was gotten. I hope you find time to understand, investigate and let the world know my story.
A UBA staff obviously seen my sister's husband account decides to go after him and they had an affair. Now my sister home is broken(though wife and husband are settling back fine now) because the staff knew he is married even though she is now claiming otherwise. We even have the nude pictures she sends to him which we will upload soon.  

It was reported to UBA first thinking their policy doesn't support that kind of thing especially a staff tapping rich customers . Mr Razak Shittu from UBA called us and told us that they will investigate the matter that we should send the nude pictures to him, we did. Only for him to call us back and say the lady have been interrogated and confirmed she had the affair but (in his word) "we should let go, that she has been given a formal warning and that we should forgive, because if they sack her and my sister husband decides to marry the lady, who would loose my sister or the lady". can you imagine that statement, shouldn't that be our headache? And after I told him this thing has destroyed my sisters family with two kids, he said 'if I don't listen to him we should go ahead and do whatever we want. I want to believe that's his opinion and not of the bank,but it doesn't matter again. We would go ahead and upload the nude pictures while tagging all bloggers, as well as screen grab our message to UBA and their responses.
