Satan got involved in dethronement of Sanusi – Abdulsalami

Nigeria’s ex-head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar has said that Muhammadu Sanusi II got dethroned as the Emir of Kano because Satan got involved.

Speaking with Voice of America Hausa Service, the former Head of State said a committee was actually inaugurated to mediate between Sanusi and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, but that things hit the rock as Satan got involved.

According to him, the committee, which he was a part, met with the Emir and the governor separately, and then with them together.

“We tried to mediate. All I can say is that there was a misunderstanding and Satan got involved,” he stated.

Lagos to arrest police, military officers riding okadas on restricted routes

The Lagos State Government has ordered the arrest of policemen and military officials caught engaging in okada riding in prohibited areas across the state.

The government frowned at the uniformed men disobeying the state’s laws on traffic and restriction of okada riders, saying that it was illegal for any security operative in mufti to ride commercial motorcycles on routes where Okada and tricycles had been restricted.

The pronouncement was part of the issues discussed during a security meeting held at the State House in Marina. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu chaired the meeting, which was attended by Commanders of all security formations in the State.

Nigerian senator introduces bill to ban importation of generators

The senator representing Niger South, Bima Enagi, has introduced a bill that seeks to ban the importation of generators in Nigeria.

The bill, titled “a bill for an Act to prohibit/ban the importation of generating sets to curb the menace of environmental (air) pollution and to facilitate the development of the power sector,” was one of the six bills read for the first time on Wednesday.

The bill prescribes, at least, ten years imprisonment for any person who knowingly sells generator sets.

Algeria cancels all political gatherings due to coronavirus

Algeria’s government has canceled political gatherings because of the coronavirus, it said on Tuesday, though it was not immediately clear if this would entail a ban on the mass protests that have convulsed the state for more than a year.

Coronavirus: Turkish Airlines suspends Nigeria flights, refunds passengers

Turkish Airlines has suspended all flights to-and-from Nigeria due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

The Punch reports that Nigeria’s first index case of the novel COVID-19, a passenger of Italian origin, arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, via Turkish Airlines.

The government launched a search for the other passengers on the flight with the Italian, who is currently in isolation in Lagos, and released the names of the missing passengers.

However, the airline, on Tuesday, said in a statement that it would refund passengers who already booked its flights.

Nollywood actress, Adebimpe Oyebade has denied having an affair with her colleague, Lateef Adedimeji because he is not her type of man. The actress said this in a recent interview with BroadwayTV.

In her words, ”I am not in a relationship with Lateef Adedimeji, but we are friends. I won’t deny the fact that we are friends, we are close friends. We are not in a relationship; we are both in different relationships.

Youtube -- a video-sharing platform has announced singer, Naira Marley as Nigeria’s most-viewed artiste for 2019.

This was disclosed during YouTube Music and YouTube Premium launch at the Google Incubator Hub in Lagos.
