As filmmaker Kunle Afolayan's latest film "Anikulapo" continues to get critical acclaim across the country and beyond, Special Effect Makeup Artist Hakeem Effect has provided insight into his involvement in the film's success.


The bosom of actress Bimbo Ademoye, who played Arolake, the youngest wife of an Oyo King who had an affair with Saro, a traveling cloth weaver, was exposed in the film.




In a Facebook post, Hakeem Effect revealed that Bimbo Ademoye's bosom in the Anikulapo film was made of prosthetics.

He wrote on Facebook;

Twitter is Officially Launching an Edit Button Feature

#jaiyeorie  Twitter users have repeatedly requested a specific upgrade — the ability to modify tweets — over the previous few years.

The company will begin gradually rolling out the long-awaited feature to Twitter Blue subscribers in the US on Thursday afternoon, Twitter spokesperson Joseph Nuñez said in an email to The Verge. Lucky subscribers in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have had the ability to edit their typos since Monday, and now it’s coming to the US.

I’ve already seen a bunch of edited tweets on my timeline. The key has been to look for a little pencil icon on tweets in your feed or in tweets themselves. If you want to see an edit history, click on a tweet and then on the pencil. Tweets can be edited up to five times and only 30 minutes after someone has posted the tweet. See it for yourself in this tweet from MKBHD.

Once the ability to edit a tweet has rolled out to you, you’ll be able to find it in the Labs section of the app that’s available to Twitter Blue subscribers, which costs $4.99 per month. Some tweets can’t be edited, like replies, retweets, and polls. You can see the full list of what can’t be changed as well as read more details about the edit feature in a Twitter support document. The feature is still in testing, so some aspects could change down the line.

Twitter first announced it was really, actually, for real working on an edit button on April 1st, meaning nobody actually believed the company until the feature was officially revealed a few days later. I personally still thought it might all be some elaborate ruse, but here we are. Fingers crossed Elon Musk keeps the edit button around if he ends up actually acquiring the company, though everything with that situation is still pretty messy.

#jaiyeorie A Nigerian serial thief was arrested in the United States just months after throwing a lavish wedding reception. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has apprehended a 26-year-old Nigerian serial thief known as the "Blue Cloth Bandit," Charles Chukwuma Onwuemelie. LAPD accused Onwuemelie, who was detained on Wednesday, of 68 armed robberies that occurred in the Los Angeles area since October 2021. According to Fox News, Onwuemelie was called "Blue Fabric Bandit" by the Los Angeles Police Department in a news release because he allegedly "used a blue cloth to disguise the weapon used in the robberies that occurred at gas stations, 7-11s, and Walmarts." "The suspect would disguise himself by wearing various hats, a face mask, and rubber gloves."
The same vehicle was utilized in many of the robberies, and various factors led to the identification of the same culprit.

Bandit's most recent effort occurred on September 23, when investigators formulated a plan to employ surveillance and a search warrant.
According to surveillance footage published by the LAPD, the man seemed to buy things at a store before revealing his revolver, which was wrapped in a blue cloth.
He was also wearing blue gloves and a cap that covered his face in the footage.

 

 

 

Police recovered a handgun and other evidence from the scene of Onwuemelie's most recent alleged robbery, which linked him to the incident.
The defendant has been charged with 16 counts of robbery allegedly committed within the city limits of Los Angeles, while officials expect the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department to file further charges for a variety of other crimes allegedly committed within the county.

NNPC Uncovers Illegal Pipeline Used To Steal Oil For 9 Years

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has uncovered an illegal oil connection from Forcados Terminal that operated for nine years.

NNPCL Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, disclosed this on Tuesday at the Senate’s joint committees on Gas and Petroleum (Upstream and Downstream), where he also apologised for skipping the last briefing on health grounds.

“Oil theft in the country has been going on for over 22 years but the dimension and rate it assumed in recent times is unprecedented,” Kyari said.

According to him, a four-kilometer illegal oil connection line from Forcados Terminal into the sea which had been in operation for nine years was detected during a clampdown in the past six weeks.

He also stated that the Brass, Forcados, and Bonny terminals were all practically doing zero production, adding, “The combined effect is that you have lost 600,000 barrels per day when you do a reality test,” he said.

Selah Marley, Lauryn Hill's daughter and Bob Marley's granddaughter, has responded to criticism after walking in Kanye West's Yeezy season nine presentation in Paris earlier this week, wearing a shirt that read "White Lives Matter" like West.

The 23-year-old is facing backlash over her involvement in Kanye West’s YZY SZN 9 presentation in Paris. Marley, who is a daughter of Lauryn Hill and granddaughter of Bob Marley, walked in the show while wearing Ye’s controversial “White Lives Matter” tee—a design being loudly blasted by activists, entertainers, fashion figures, fans, and more. Critics have said the slogan is a dismissive retort to the Black Lives Matter movement, which began as a protest against anti-Black violence and police brutality.

Many social media users slammed Marley for rocking the tee, suggesting it was a slap in the face to her family, which has spent years advocating for racial justice.

Selah addressed the furor in a series of Instagram Stories posts Tuesday, claiming she would not be “bullied” into conformity.

“The past 24 hours has allowed me to realize that most of yall are stuck in a hive mind mentality,” she wrote. “You do what the group tells you to do & think what the group tells you to think. Witnessing someone break free from ‘the agenda’ sends you all into such a panic that you will do whatever it takes to force them back into the box that you feel they should exist in.”

She went on to add, “The victim becomes the victimizer. You can not bully me, manipulate me, or coax me into silence. Nor will you bully me into being who you want me to be. I don’t care how many tweets you make, DMs you send, or articles you write. Throughout all of the chaos, I have yet to speak on my experience. If you know me, you know that nothing I do is without deep thought & intention. Wait til you hear what I have to say.”

Marley also shared a screenshot of a text she recently sent to Ye. After acknowledging the negativity surrounding the tee, Marley proposed she and he “continue that conversation” to provide more clarity.

“I love taking risks & embracing freedom,” she wrote, “but in this case, I think we can continue to discuss the depth behind our decisions to show the purity of our intentions & provide healing to our community.”

She concluded the text, “Let’s keep this going—in a healthy way ??.”

Kanye—who sampled Lauryn Hill on Donda and happened to have a song called “Selah” on his prior album—reposted the screenshot to his Stories. Neither party has confirmed when—or if—the proposed conversation will take place. On Wednesday evening, Selah Marley circled back to share a photo with “N***as in Paris” playing in the background.

Also on Wednesday night, Ye continued the White Lives Matter justifications with a new pic of the shirt and the caption, “Here’s my latest response when people ask me why I made a tee that says white lives matter…THEY DO.”

Risevest CEO Eke Urum Found Guilty Of S3xual Impropriety

Eke Urum, the founder and CEO of Risevest, was found guilty of sexual misconduct and abuse of power.


Urum was suspended in August after a staff member was accused of s3xual and non-s3xual abuse.


According to a company statement, the six-week investigation found no evidence of sexual assault.

However, the evidence showed “s3xual relations with an employee; unwanted, inappropriate jokes and conversations revealed s3xual impropriety”.

“It also showed a pattern of abuse of power, intimidation, retaliation and workplace bullying”, it added.

The investigation team interacted with nearly 60 former and current employees before reaching its decisions.

The panel, which comprised Tomi Davies, Odun Longe and Toun Tunde-Anjous, recommended that Urum should not be reinstated as CEO.

Tony Odiba, the acting CEO, will remain in the capacity until a substantive chief executive officer is appointed.

Urum is now a non-executive board member and will lead the firm’s investment strategy and provide guidance on technology.

“I regret the distraction that my actions may have caused and fully respect the integrity of the process the Risevest investors and the panel underwent”, Urum told TechCabal.

Former Big Brother Naija reality show winner and singer, WhiteMoney, has revealed his highest educational qualification to be O LEVEL.

WhiteMoney made the revelation, in an interview with media entrepreneur, Chude Jideonwo.

He also disclosed poverty pushed him to audition four times in a row for BBN.

He won the fourth time.

He said, “I hate reading, but I love to listen, so I watch a lot of movies and emulate how they talk, and it impacted me. If I am to act the role of someone with an American accent, I have to watch five Black American movies.

“By the time I’m done with them, it automatically programs in my head against the shoot the next day. It helps me fine-tune my English, and how to read contracts and sign them. I stopped at NECO because that was where the money stopped.

“The school will give you theory; life will give you practical. For example, the highest educational qualification I have is O’ level, National Examination Council (NECO), that’s all I wrote. I didn’t write WAEC, JAMB or anything, but I still speak good English.

“The biggest teacher any man can have is experience. The second teacher anyone can have is life, and the third is people, not even your parents.

“You need life, people, and experience to become a better person in life. School won’t give you that experience you need.”

For years, one of the most pernicious and prevalent narratives running through hip-hop for the past two decades has been that Diddy withheld royalties from his Bad Boy artists, especially Mase, who has repeatedly gone on record with complaints about his former label boss. However, Diddy decided to defend himself on The Breakfast Club, winding up not only challenging his longtime frenemy to “bring your receipts” but also calling him a “fake pastor” who “conned people.”

“I did one album with Mase,” he noted. One album. How much money do you think I owe this guy? And then he became a fake pastor and went and conned people. And y’all gon’ let him throw dirt on the god’s name. Anybody can come and step up. Bring your receipts. But I’m not playing. I’m back outside and I’m fighting back for us. Diddy isn’t the first or only music impresario to be accused of shady business practices but for what it’s worth, most of the time it seems these disagreements stem from young artists not understanding how their record contracts work. As far as Diddy’s assertion that he only did one album with Mase goes, that could be slightly inaccurate, considering Bad Boy put out three Mase albums, Harlem World, Double Up, and Welcome Back, all of which have gone at least Gold. Depending on Mase’s advance and the marketing budgets, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle between both men’s personal stories.

The 52-year-old, who used to weigh over 400lbs and suffered from diabetes, embarked on a bid to get fit after his overweight friends began dying young.

However he told Page Six: ‘As a business I spent so many millions and millions of dollars marketing Fat Joe that it wouldn’t be smart to change my name now.’

Young Joseph Cartagena adopted the ‘Fat Joe’ nickname after being ribbed for his size during his childhood in the South Bronx.

‘I grew up in the projects where there was no filter,’ said the hitmaker, whose original stage name was Fat Joe Da Gangsta.

‘When the teacher would, say, write something on the chalkboard I was always big so the crack of [my butt] would show. So the girls would be like yeah Joey Crack and that’s how I kept my name,’ he dished.

After his dramatic weight loss journey, Joe told CNN in 2011: ‘I think I weighed about 450/460 at my heaviest. That’s huge! That’s Fat Joe.’

He noted that ‘I always took pride in being fat. I represented big people, but I realized at a certain point all my big people were dying.’

Joe shared: ‘Last year alone, I had six friends die of heart attacks. Most of them were younger than me, but they were my same size. So I had one friend who was funnier than me. He was cooler than me. Obviously God loved him and he still died. I couldn’t believe that he died of a heart attack at 32/33 years old.’

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja has ordered FCMB to pay N540,500,000.00 in damages to Pastor Emmanuel Omale of the Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministry and his wife, Deborah, for making a fraudulent claim that he laundered N573 million for former EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Magu.


Justice Yusuf Halilu issued a landmark decision on Tuesday, holding that FCMB deliberately disregarded the duty of care it owed to the claimants - Omale, his wife, and their church.


The decision was based on the FCT/HC/CV2541/2020 action filed by Omale, his wife, and the church. .

During the investigation of Magu by the Justice Isa Salami-led presidential investigation panel, it was claimed that an investigation by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) revealed that Magu paid N573m into Omale’s church’s account with which a property was allegedly bought in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

But in his verdict on Tuesday, Justice Halilu noted that the evidence before his court showed that the bank admitted error in its report to the NFIU, of entries in Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministry’s account.

The judge further held that the bank claimed that the purported N573m was wrongly reflected as a credit entry in Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministry’s account by its reporting system, which it recently upgraded.

Justice Halilu noted that the bank admitted the error, which occasioned incalculable damage to the reputation of Pastor Omale, his wife, and their church both within and outside the country.

The judge further held that the claimants provided sufficient evidence to establish a case of negligence against the bank.
Justice Halilu thereafter proceeded to award N200m as aggravated damages; N140,500,000 as specific damages and N200m as general damages.

Kanye's story of not having access to his children is bogus, according to Khloé, because he always knows where his children are.

Velma eventually publicly displays her interest to costume designer Coco Diablo in the new 'Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!' film, validating years of Scooby fan assumptions.

“OMG LESBIAN VELMA FINALLY,” reads one tweet, which has over 100,000 likes.

Velma's homosexuality has long been known among fans and "Scooby-Doo" creators.
Even James Gunn, who scripted the early live-action films, and Tony Cervone, who acted as supervising producer for the "Mystery Incorporated" series, verified the character's sexuality, although it was never made public onscreen.

In 2020, Gunn tweeted that he “tried” to make Velma a lesbian in the live-action movies. “In 2001 Velma was explicitly gay in my initial script,” he wrote. “But the studio just kept watering it down & watering it down, becoming ambiguous (the version shot), then nothing (the released version) & finally having a boyfriend (the sequel).”

During the 2020 Pride Month, Cervone wrote on Instagram, “I’ve said this before, but Velma in ‘Mystery Incorporated’ is not bi. She’s gay. We always planned on Velma acting a little off and out of character when she was dating Shaggy because that relationship was wrong for her and she had unspoken difficulty with the why. There are hints about the why in that episode with the mermaid, and if you follow the entire Marcie arc it seems as clear as we could make it 10 years ago. I don’t think Marcie and Velma had time to act on their feelings during the main timeline, but post reset, they are a couple. You can not like it, but this was our intention.”

Kanye West was blasted on Instagram by Gigi Hadid after the rapper insulted a Vogue editor who questioned his "White Lives Matter" shirts during Paris Fashion Week.


Fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson attended West's presentation and was displeased with the outcome, writing on Instagram that the shirts were "very disrespectful, violent, and dangerous."


"There's no excuse, there's no art here," she explained.


And Kanye West took to his Facebook page to criticize her, showing photographs of her and ridiculing her wardrobe choices.
He also shared a screenshot of a text message from someone urging him not to "insult the writer," likely Karefa-Johnson.


Gigi Hadid, who has worked with Karefa-Johnson and considers her a friend, criticized the rapper in response. 

“You wish u had a percentage of her intellect,” Hadid wrote in a since-deleted comment. “You have no idea haha…. If there’s actually a point to any of your shit she might be the only person that could save u. As if the “honor” of being invited to your show should keep someone from giving their opinion ..? Lol. You’re a bully and a joke.”

She later elaborated on her own Instagram story.

“I was trying very hard not to give that man air time, but publicly bullying someone who criticizes your work on your massive platform is another level of ridiculousness to me,” she wrote. “If you can’t take it don’t dish it. If you can’t take criticism, specially the smart, nuanced, and kind criticism that GKJ provided yesterday’s show, then don’t put work out for public consumption. This is immature bully behavior.”
