The Nigerian Naira has suffered two consecutive days of melt down in the unofficial market as it tumbles by about N17 for each dollar.
The market had some semblance of stability for weeks, selling and buying at between N480-485.
But the long suffering Nigerian currency moved south wards after the Central Bank published on Monday night a devalued rate for Naira, offering it at the NAFEX window at N410 to the US Dollar.
This sparked reactions from the parallel or Black Market.
On Wednesday, the Naira lost N6 to the dollar, reaching ₦ 493.00 This corresponds to 1.23% rise compared to previous day.
On Thursday, the currency fell further to N488/495, a rise of 0.4 per cent.

Steven Gerrard and David Beckham have become the latest players to be inducted into Premier League Hall of Fame.
The former England captains are the seventh and eighth players to be handed the honour, joining Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard and Dennis Bergkamp.

Lagos State Government has announced that it had an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of N127 billion in the first quarter of 2021.
The government added that the amount was an increase from the N658bn it generated as of December 2020.

Buhari has paid a heartfelt tribute to Professor Felicia Adebola Adedoyin, a renowned professor of Education and composer of the National Pledge.
Professor Adedoyin died on May 1 after a brief illness.

Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami has said that banning of open grazing in the Southern region of the country is same thing as prohibition of spare parts trading in the North.
Mali made the claim in an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday May 19. The AGF insisted that the ban of open grazing and movement of cattle by foot by Southern governors after a meeting in Asaba, does not align with the provisions of the constitution.

In an emotional interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the American actor known for breaking gender rules on red carpets, opened up about his diagnosis 14 years ago, and why he decided to share his story.

The US daytime talk show host took to Instagram to share photo of her swollen foot and urged fans to join Team Wendy Williams for her run/walk to fight lymphatic diseases.

Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has shared some experiences on his journey to fame in the Nollywood industry.
Speaking about humble beginning in a post shared on his Instagram page, the actor said he never started big in his acting career.
A throwback photo of himself accompanied the post, Lateef Adedimeji said while growing up; there was never a driver waiting to drop him off at school or backpack lunch bag. Still, he had an ambition and was dedicated to it.
Lateef added in the movie industry, he was not anywhere close to the top as he can proudly say he started from the foot of the ladder.
While expressing appreciation to God for his current status, Lateef said he had come a long way with God, and there are still lots of work to be done; however, he will not jump process.

Richard Mofe-Damijo had gone down memory lane when he joined the Nollywood industry and his first movie.

Nigeria born former England international, Eniola Aluko, is the new Sporting Director of US based National Women’s Soccer League side, Angel City.
Aluko recently left the same position at Aston Villa weeks ago.
The 34-year-old announced her retirement from playing in January 2020.

Kim Kardashian revealed in the promo for next week’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that her son Saint West had tested positive for coronavirus.
In the clip, it sees the reality star, 40, talking to an unknown person on the phone where she says that her daughter North, seven, is also feeling sick – although it is unknown if she also tested positive and other family members.
Kim says: ‘Sainty just tested positive for Covid and North is saying she’s feeling sick.’
In a separate recording, the mother-of-four admits: ‘I’m trying not to freak anyone out, but I’m just really worried.’
It is not known when Saint tested positive for coronavirus but the clip is pre-recorded and the family finished filming the final episode of KUWTK in January, so it is likely it was at the end of last year or early 2021.

The Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr Muhammad Babandede, has announced the suspension of receiving and processing of all fresh passport applications nationwide until June 1.
Babandede, while briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja, said that a new passport regime would take effect from same date. He said that the suspension was to allow for clearance of backlog of all passport applications received before May 17, adding that all backlogs were expected to be cleared by May 31.
What that means according to him, is that all passport offices nationwide will not be opened to public until June 1, adding that task force supervised by senior officers were being deployed for the exercise. He also said that all applicants of the backlog would be contacted to collect their passports from state command offices and not passport offices.

Iginla said that some pastors would condemn their colleagues while protecting a herbalist, with the result that the church has become very weak.

Adesina Ogunlana, the legal counsel to embattled Nollywood star, Olanrewaju James popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has made the damning claim that the police demanded N500,000 as part of the bail condition before the actor can be released.
In an interview with ThePunch, Ogunlana accused the police of monetising bail, saying that two people have already agreed to stand as sureties for the actor.

Microsoft is set to retire its internet explorer web browser come June 2022.
CNN reports that Microsoft made the decision to do away with the web browser due to steady decline in usage over the years.
The Internet Explorer debuted back in 1995 and once revolutionized the web browsing experience, but couldn’t keep up with the competition over the years.
Statistics show that the internet Explorer currently has just 5% of web browser usage—compared to Google’s Chrome, which leads the market with 69% of browser usage among consumers.

Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has once again ruled out returning the £4.2 million seized from Delta State Governor James Ibori to the state government.
In an interview with Channels Television, the AGF announced that the Nigerian government had obtained the money recovered by the UK government, but added that returning the money to the Delta state government would be a breach of the arrangement signed on fund disbursement.
Malami also detailed the programs for which the funds will be allocated under the terms of the agreement.

HBo Max is set to debut a Harry Potter Quiz show on the heels of the 20th anniversary of the franchise.
The unscripted quiz show will air for five nights is set to air on HBO Max and linear networks Cartoon Network and TBS at a yet-to-be determined date later in the year.
WarnerMedia greenlit the untitled competition quiz show, which is now casting via WizardingWorld.com.
It will feature super fans competing to answer trivia questions with special guests set to also be featured in the four-episode series. The show will lead into a retrospective special. An online play-along component will also be part of the game show.

Governor Akeredolu of Ondo State has hit out at the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami for opposing the resolve by the southern governors to ban open grazing within the region.
In a statement Thursday, Akeredolu said it is worrisome for Malami who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, to compare a well-structured business such as the spare part business with the archaic method of cattle grazing which has wreaked havoc across the country.
Akeredolu maintained that the ban on open grazing in the southern region has come to stay and will be enforced with utmost vigour.

Bitcoin and ethereum posted their largest one-day drop since March last year on Wednesday, with losses in the market capitalization for the entire cryptocurrency sector approaching $1 trillion.
The sharp declines came after China banned financial and payment institutions from providing cryptocurrency services, Reuters writes.
Bitcoin dropped to $30,066, the lowest since late January. It was last down 22% at $33,502. The most popular cryptocurrency posted its largest one-day loss since March 2020.
Ethereum fell to as low as $1,850, its weakest level since late January as well. It was last down 28% at $2,439. The new show, titled “Inside Life” will feature Star Girl, as she’s popularly called, in its first episode tagged “Inside Life with Erica“.
The first episode is set to premiere at 8 pm on Wednesday, 9th of June and we’re totally looking forward to it.

Speaking at a farmer-herder summit held in Iwo Local Government of Osun State on Tuesday May 18, the Osun monarch also charged herders in his local government to work hand in hand with him to ensure that criminals perpetrating abductions and killings in Iwo get arrested. Akanbi said; "There must be the death penalty for kidnappers and no Human Rights advocate should kick against that. Government must begin to kill corrupt people irrespective of their ethnicity, be it Fulani Hausa, Yoruba or any tribe. “If the security forces cannot enforce the law, then there would be anarchy, ritualists, corrupt people, kidnappers should be killed henceforth. “I want you to work with me to identify criminals penetrating your ranks so that I would not join those who are calling for your expulsion in the Southwest. “You would chase the criminals always by working with the chiefs, and security agencies. I still stand by my words that Fulani should come and stay in Iwo, but I don’t want criminals because we can’t identify with them." Oba Akanbi also called for the recruitment of more policemen and community policing. He added; “Security challenges would be significantly solved if the government gives traditional rulers constitutional power. I also prefer devolution of power, not restructuring. Then we also need State Police.
