Joe Biden and Meghan McCain, the daughter of Senator John McCain, may come from different political parties, but on Wednesday their grief brought them together. The former vice president appeared on The View on Wednesday to promote his book titled "Promise Me, Dad," but ended up serving as a comforter for co-host Meghan McCain, whose father John McCain was diagnosed with glioblastoma, the same cancer that took the life of the Biden's last son, Beau. During the program, Meghan was thrilled to talk about her father's diagnosis of stage 4 glioblastoma, a rare and highly aggressive form of brain cancer that has an average survival rate of 14 months. She burst into tears as she spoke and Biden shifted her seat so he could hold her hand and comfort her.     Biden talked about how his son was friends with the Arizona senator and how there was hope for McCain thanks to advances in medicine.
"There’s a lot of things happening. Any of you who have somebody who is diagnosed with gliobastoma, which is about as bad as it gets, there’s breakthroughs that are occurring now. And it can happen tomorrow," Biden said. "There is hope. And if anybody can make it, your dad [can]."
Biden, a lifelong Democrat also detailed his close relationship with McCain, a Republican. He likened their relationship to "two brothers who were somehow raised by different fathers", and said that though they always have different points of view they still love each other and will always be there for each other. He also spoke of how John McCain and his late son Beau became really good friends and said Beau always talked about McCain's courage.
He said: "One of the things that gave Beau courage, my word, was John. You may remember—when you were a little kid—your dad took care of my Beau. . . . Your dad became friends with Beau, and Beau talked about your dad’s courage, not about illness, but about his courage."

After the segment aired, Meghan McCain tweeted: "There are no words I have to convey my immense gratitude to @JoeBiden and his family. Your strength, hope, and fortitude are an inspiration to me and so many others daily. Thank you for your kindness today and sharing your story with us."

 

 

John McCain also commented on the segment, tweeting: "Thank you @JoeBiden and the entire Biden family for serving as an example and source of strength for my own family."

 R&B singer, K. Michelle has come out to say she and her fiance are swingers.
K. Michelle said this on Essence Live. She said she and her fiance Dr. Kastan Sims have a "different" relationship. She did not come out right to say they are swingers but that's pretty much what it is. K Michelle told Essence that she and Dr. Sims look for side chicks together in a number of places, including the strip club.
"I’m fun," said K who added that she previously danced to support herself while sending out demos. "Yeah we were at the strip club and I was like, 'Oh do you like her?' Sometimes I’m okay with contracting out the work [that’s] less work for me to do."
When asked if she’s really down for her man to have a side chick, she responded that she and Dr. Sims sometimes compete to get numbers from different women.
She said: "Yeah, we flirt. We’ll compete to see who can get the most numbers. We’ve always said this, we define the terms of our relationship. Not society’s norms, me and him decide. We value having friendship, honesty, that’s what we value."

Prince Aminu Sanusi Lamido, the first son of His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, joined the Nigeria Police Force. Born in 1991, Prince Aminu joined the Nigerian Police after graduating from Buckingham University in the United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Accounting. He then went to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he studied Arabic before returning to Nigeria and did his NYSC in Lagos. The prince joined the Nigeria Police Service, Plateau Academy, where he died as an ASP on December 15. The last great father of prince Aminu, Emir Ado Bayero, was a police officer before joining the diplomatic work, and then he became the emir of Kano.

Olamide changed the venue for his concert OLIC 4 to likely compete with  Phyno as the latter had two successful sold out concerts at huge venues at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu.

In an exclusive chat with Showtime, Olamide said he is not in competition with Phyno.

In his words;

“I’m not competing with Phyno, everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and I’m just living my own dream. I’m 100% excited because this is something I’ve been looking forward to for over three years now; it’s always been about doing it big, something beyond the ordinary, giving back to the people and spreading love. Eko hotel is good, we’ve done a lot of stuff there but bringing OLIC4 to Teslim Balogun Stadium is about telling people out there that this is Lagos and Lagos cannot be limited, we can achieve whatever we set out to achieve”, he said.

Mr. 2kay in a chat with Saturday Beats, said he no longer holds any grudge against Burnaboy,he said;



“When they were beating me, I thought I was going to die on that day. When you see a man with a gun, anything can happen. They were debating on whether to shoot me or not. They were debating over my life if I should live or not. It was one of them that said he was my fan and he loved my song. That person did not touch me; he only tied me to a chair and was calming me down. It was God that saved my life because when I first saw them, the first thing I shouted was Jesus and I believe that was what saved me.”


On allegations that Burnaboy called to apologise after the incident, he“What I said was that Burna Boy has called me and he apologised without admitting that he was involved in the assault on me. He told me that he had no hand in it. I had to reply him that I never fingered him; it was his manager and the boys that fingered him. All we need is honesty and the truth. He cannot apologise to me over a matter that he has no hand in.

“At the end of the day, we all want this issue to go with this year and start the New Year on a fresh note. I was supposed to release my album this year but we could not do so because of this whole issue.

“Next year should be a very busy one for me and I don’t want to spend my time at a police station or pay numerous visits to the commissioner of police. I just want to have peace. Burna Boy is still my brother any day and I have forgiven him but what we want is the truth. If he calls me and opens up, we have said that we would settle it out of court. It is possible for us to have a song together in the future if he wants it because he is my brother. I swear with my life that I hold nothing against Burna Boy,” he added.

The singer reiterated the fact that while he was being assaulted, he was robbed of a wristwatch which he claimed cost about N9m. He added that he didn’t care if anyone believed he owned such an expensive piece of jewellery.

“Everything they stole from me was more than N9m; my wristwatch alone cost N9m. Everything stolen from me was over N10m. I wear an Audemars Piguet watch. I am a brand ambassador for an American alcoholic brand, Christian Brothers. For me to get an endorsement with the brand, you should know that money was involved. Also, my song, ‘Count it all Joy’, had the highest number of downloads from MTN, not just in Nigeria but MTN as a whole. I go for events, I have godfathers and some footballers are my friends as well.

“I have people that could bless me with anything they want to gift me. I am from Rivers State and I do a lot of gigs; the music pays me a lot. I get royalties from my records playing in the UK as well. My record label is not broke so I wonder why people think I cannot afford a wristwatch worth N9m. I have a father who is my boss and he can afford to buy anything for me. It is my choice to spend as much as N9m on a watch and I owe no one any explanation. Olamide exposes the real state of his relationship with Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold

In a chat with Saturday Beats, Olamide said that there was no bad blood between them, referring to the young singers as his brothers.

 “I feel everyone is entitled to their opinion; I am just living my own dream. It is not about Adekunle Gold or Lil Keshi not being on my label but maintaining a good relationship with them. Davido's “IF” Named MTV BASE Hottest Naija Track of 2017

“If” by David Adeleke, aka Davido has topped the MTV Base Roundtable hottest Naija tracks chart and has been selected as the hottest song of 2017.

Boasting of over 54 million views on youtube, “If” was produced by Tekno. The song spurred trends and memes on social media because of Davido’s jaw dropping claim of having “30 billion in his account”. After careful consideration and debate by the panelists, it was considered the song with the most buzz, impact and longevity.

 Coming right behind Davido’s “If” at Number 2 and 3 are Small Doctor’s “Penalty” and Runtown’s “Mad Over You” respectively.



On the panel that decided the MTV Base Roundtable hottest Naija top 20 tracks for the year 2017 were:  MTV Base VJ, Ehiz Okoeguale, Universal Music Group Nigeria GM, Ezegozie Eze; Social Media Critic and influencer, Tosin Adeda; Nigerian DJ, Obi Ajuonuma; Digital Media Manager, MTV Base, Adetola Adekoya, Cool FM on-air personality/ Rapper, N6; Online Entertainment Editor, Pulse Nigeria, Joey Akan; and Beat FM On-air personalities- Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi and Dami Elebe.


The criteria for inclusion in this year’s selection was based on the songs been released no earlier than November 2016, and was weighed according to a range of criteria – from impact in the media, to level of buzz and longevity.

Russell Simmons takes lie detector test to prove his innocence (Photo)

Russell Simmons hooked himself up to a lie detector, and says the results prove he did NOT sexually assault model Keri Claussen Khalighi.

TMZ obtained this image of Simmons taking the polygraph Wednesday in the L.A. area.
Russell's camp says it was administered by a national leader in the field of polygraphing. We're told he was asked a series of questions about the allegations made by Khalighi.

  Keri  claims Simmons forced her into performing oral sex on him -- back in 1991 when she was 17 -- while director Brett Ratner sat and watched.

• According to Simmons' attorneys, Michael Sterling and E. Carlos Tanner, Simmons passed with flying colors, and plans to repeat the test for allegations made by 4 other women. They say Russell will release all the results once he's completed the tests.

Russell and his legal team are inviting any of his accusers, including Khalighi, to also take a polygraph.
