The incident happened in December 2014 at Mater Hospital in Dublin but has just emerged in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports. A man arrived at A&E after spending 10hours trying to remove the 23cm Object.
According to the report: “A 68-year-old man presented to the emergency department with severe lower abdominal discomfort, distention and inability to pass urine, flatus or bowel motions. .
