Actress Eniola Badmus has insisted on charging a TikTok user, Ego Okoye, to court for defamation.
The actress made the statement in a video clip confirming Okoye’s arrest after she made a viral post tagging Badmus as someone who had been arranging ladies for politicians.
In the video clip, Okoye was heard describing Badmus as a PIMP – someone who controls prostitutes and arranges clients for them, taking a percentage of their earnings in return.
She even went further to allude that the actress had at a point in time attempted to hook one of her friends up with a politician.
However, in a new video clip in circulation, Okoye, who looked baffled at being arrested, when asked by the actress how she had wronged her, said “nothing.”
Badmus said, “You just decided to spoil my name. Don’t worry, we are going to court. This is the girl that called me a professional pimp. Have I pimped you before? That your friend, where is she, you must provide her, don’t you have the friend again? She must come back, she will be your witness.”

The Nigeria Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the promotion of Officer Mohammed Aminu, who was assaulted by Seun Kuti, to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). This promotion comes after Officer Aminu was subjected to a brutal assault by Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti several months ago. The PSC’s decision, revealed during its 21st plenary meeting, reflects the officer’s remarkable display of professionalism even in the face of aggression.
The incident, which was captured on tape, showed Seun Kuti assaulting Officer Aminu, who managed to maintain his composure and restraint despite the provocation. Subsequently, the singer was arrested and charged with assault, to which he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail pending further legal proceedings. In a statement released on Thursday, the PSC commended Officer Aminu for his unwavering dedication to upholding the principles of the Nigerian Police Force during the incident. Despite the physical attack, Officer Aminu demonstrated a high level of professionalism and adherence to his duty, earning him the well-deserved promotion to the rank of ASP.
Alongside Officer Aminu’s promotion, the PSC also approved the appointment of two Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) and recognized the achievements of other dedicated officers. CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, was promoted to the next rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in recognition of his exemplary service. Furthermore, the PSC confirmed the appointments of 9,016 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) and authorized the promotion of 14,052 inspectors to Assistant Superintendents of Police (unconfirmed). Among these promotions, Inspector Habila Bulus was elevated to ASP II, acknowledging his gallantry and outstanding commitment to his duty. “Inspector Mohammed Aminu, who trended on social media where he was seen being assaulted in uniform by one Seun Kuti, was also promoted to ASP I. “One Inspector Habila Bulus was promoted to ASP II for his gallantry and commitment to duty,” Ani said.

Busola graduated with a master’s in international business from Loughborough University. In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Okasanmi Ajayi, it was announced that the outgoing commissioner of police, Paul Odama, psc+, has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG). According to the statement, CP Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi is originally from Sagamu, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
She joined the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. Throughout her career, she has served in various Police commands and formations both within and outside the country, holding several command positions. The Delta State Police Command has arrested the suspect who posed as an intending buyer and absconded with a N55m Mercedes Benz SUV during a test drive in Abuja.Spokesperson of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, July 6, said the suspect, Meshack Sinuphro, specializes in stealing vehicles while pretending to be a buyer.
According to the PPRO, the suspect was arrested in Benin City, Edo State while the stolen car was recovered in a bush along Oteri road, in Ughelli North. “Sequel to a complaint received on 3/7/2023 at about 1700hours from a car dealer in Abuja whose vehicle was stolen from his car stand by the suspect who disguised as intending buyer and absconded with the said vehicle during a test drive on 30/6/2023 in Abuja,” the statement read."
Armed with available intelligence, operatives of the CP-Decoy Squad stormed Ughelli town at about 0115hours of 3/7/2023 and recovered the said Mercedes Benz SUV abandoned in a bush along Oteri road by Doctors Quarters Ughelli North LGA. #jaiyeorie The Swiss Gymnastics Federation (STV) has imposed a ban on photographers taking 'suggestive' photos.The ban is being introduced in an attempt to keep the focus on the gymnast's poses and positions, according to German outlet Bild. The STV claim in their new guideline that the main intention is to prevent images of the gymnast's 'crotch' and that they hope to remove 'otherwise ethically sensitive' photos from being published.
A statement read: 'To protect gymnasts, the STV strives to ensure that no suggestive or otherwise ethically sensitive photos are published and passed on. Especially photos where gymnasts were photographed in the crotch.'It added: 'The STV is aware that such photos can arise in action photography. However, publication should be avoided. The main concern of the STV is to sensitise the media professionals and to let common sense prevail.'Pictures of gymnasts in a pose that sees their legs spread upwards - which you might see on the uneven bars or balance beam will be banned, with images of a splits pose dependent on the angle of the picture. Naomi Kempter of the STV is adamant that imposing the ban was necessary, and ought to have been introduced sooner. 'We wanted to send a signal that we no longer want such photos,' Kempter stated.
'It was high time for something like this.'This move from the Swiss federation may have far-reaching consequences, with neighbouring Germany suggesting that they could adopt something similar. The German Gymnastics Federation stated that they had 'adjusted' positions in which photographers could stand in order to prevent more photos taken with the gymnast's legs spread. 'We have now slightly adjusted the positions for the photographers at competitions. Singer Tiwa Savage has disclosed how nervousness almost ruined her performance at the historical coronation of the British monarch, King Charles III. Tiwa Savage became the first Nigerian artiste to perform at a British royal event after thrilling guests at the King Charles III’s coronation concert and Big Lunch in March.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said it is unconstitutional and immoral for lawmakers’ to determine their own emoluments.
Obasanjo stated this while delivering a speech at the 60th anniversary celebration of legal icon Aare Afe Babalola’s call to the Bar held in Ado Ekiti on Monday.
The former president expressed worry, saying those who should uphold the constitution are “the ones who undermine it.”
According to Obasanjo, salary allocation for elected officials is the responsibility of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), which he said the lawmakers had jettisoned to fix salaries for themselves.
Under Paragraph 32(a-e) of Part I to the Third Schedule of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the commission is saddled with determining the remuneration appropriate for political officeholders, including legislators, among other functions.
Obasanjo said, “The point in Nigeria which I have seen and which I can attest to is most of the people who are supposed to be operationalising or managing and seeing the constitution and democracy move forward, they are actually the ones who undermine the constitution.
“All elected people, by our constitution, their emolument is supposed to be fixed by the revenue mobilisation commission, but our lawmakers set that aside and they make laws and put any emolument for themselves.
“Even if that is constitutional, it is not moral and, of course, it is neither constitutional nor moral.”
Obasanjo said so many other aspects of the Nigerian Constitution such as the Federal Character were “absolutely ignored”, saying that the Federal Character Commission barely carried out its function.
The former President said that when the constitution is “continually breached like that”, the country’s democracy becomes one where anything goes.
He commended Aare Babalola for his contributions to the development of the country, saying that he had made things he met in life better than he met them.
He said, “You have met this world at a point, you have met your community at a point, you have met your family at a point and what you have done is that what you have met, you have made it better than what you have found.”

Gospel singer, Tope Alabi, has finally explained why she used the word ‘Aboru Aboye’, a form of greeting among Ifa initiates, in her song.
The gospel singer had come under heavy criticisms after she referred to herself as ‘ebo’ literally meaning sacrifice in one of her songs.
She also used words like “Abiye ni mi, Oruko mi ni yen. Mo de bo, mo ru, mo ye,” (I am a sacrifice, that’s my name. I am a sacrifice accepted by God, that’s my name).
Defending herself while ministering in a white garment church, Tope Alabi stated that “Aboru Aboye” is a pure Yoruba language and not an exclusive preserve of traditionalists.
Alabi who explained with bible reference also clarified that her deft use of the language remained her peculiar style as a gospel artiste.
She said, “It was recorded that David made a sacrifice of faithfulness to God. Why was the word sacrifice not written as the same English word in the Yoruba version of the Bible? It is a Yoruba language. There is no special language for traditionalists. We are all speaking the Yoruba language.
“If some people say they want to use the language in their own style, it is not bad. We have also decided to use it in our own style.”
While reiterating that sacrifices were rendered in the bible, she further queried saying, “Was Abraham’s sacrifice accepted or not? Was it not the same with Isaac?”
To establish her point, Alabi also referenced a bible passage which is Romans 12:1, she said, “Brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. The word ‘acceptable’ is the ‘Aboru’ while ‘living sacrifice’ is Aboye.”
