Nigerian professor appointed as Vice Chancellor in UK university

According to a statement on the UK Varsity website, he will take over from Margaret House, who will be stepping down after seven years.
Mr Egbu will return to Leeds, a city in which he studied and taught, to begin his new role on November 1, 2020.
Reacting to his appointment, Mr Egbu was quoted as saying: “I am honoured to be joining Leeds Trinity; a University who’s values and ethos around widening participation, offering a personalised approach and encouraging all students to achieve their best, align with my own. The University has an impressive track record in learning, teaching and employability, and I am looking forward to building on the strong foundations established under the leadership of Professor House.

He said the woman threatened him because his "truth" was "too honest". He added that he was crying and he was forgiving but he never forgot.



"You will never find work in this industry," the woman said.



The incident happened in Tinapa, said Gideon. However, he did not name the woman who threatened him, nor did he provide details about the truth of what he said that led to the threat.

UAE orders Nigerians with expired visas to leave on or before August 17

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has ordered Nigerians with expired visas to leave the country before August 17.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Nigerian embassy in Abu Dhabi said UAE has granted waivers on fines and penalties on visas that expired before March 1.
The embassy urged affected citizens to submit their papers for emigration processing. It said Nigerians are advised to join the evacuation flights arranged from the country before the deadline.
“The Embassy wishes to inform that the government of the United Arab Emirates has granted waivers on fines/penalties on visas that expired before 1st March 2020 to leave the country on or before 17th of August, 2020,” the statement read.

Don Jazzy posted a video on Tuesday, July 21 talking about how the male BBNaija “Lockdown” housemates have intimidated him with their 6 packs.

According to him, he decided to embark on an early morning workout to he could also build some packs for himself just like the male housemates.

In the video, 37-year-old Don Jazzy whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh could be seen bending slightly to reply someone that seems to be a young lady who greeted him on his way back from the workout.
He could be heard saying “Good morning y’all. I decided to join the Big Brother people to do early morning workout….” at this point a female voice greeted him “good morning sir!”, and he quickly bowed his head and replied “Good morning oh, I hail oh, you’re too much”.

Doja Cat has apologised, slammed her critics, and maintained her innocence: that her ideal do no align with the alleged supremacists she was found hanging out with.
Yesterday, she took to her social media to point out the supposed hypocrisy in how her identity has been positioned by people intent on dragging her name through the mud because of her multiracial background. “Remember when people said I was black when I had a #1 along side 3 other black women but now the same people wanna say I’m white? Maybe I’m not the one here with “identity issues”. :)” she tweeted out earlier today.
And when someone tweeted that she was “trying to make us forget what you did,” she replied: “I’m just trying to make sure you remember who the fuck you’re talking to, coward.”
And when folks couldn’t let her be, she wrote: “In what world do you think a gang of white supremacists would actually hang out with a black person? Just ACTUALLY THINK about what you said.” Many people had a problem with how she was trying to dampen the complexity of white supremacy.
