NDLEA grills socialite, Obi Cubana, for alleged drug link

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday grilled socialite, Obi Iyiegbu,-Obi Cubana, for his alleged link to the illegal narcotic business. The Punch reports that Iyiegbu, who is the Chairman, Cubana group of companies, was grilled for about five hours at the Abuja headquarters of the NDLEA before he was granted bail and asked to return at a future date. 

 Impeccable sources told Punch correspondent that suspicious payments were made into Cubana’s account by three convicted drug dealers from Malaysia, Nigeria and India. Operatives of the NDLEA and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have now widened the probe into Cubana and his business network based on the premise that he may be involved in the drug business. “Obi Cubana arrived at the NDLEA office around 9am and responded to questions for some hours before he was granted bail at 2pm. There are suspicions that he may be a drug kingpin. Some convicted drug dealers paid funds into his account. “We have been able to establish three of such payments. One of the persons that paid money into his account was convicted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; another one that was convicted in New Delhi, India; also paid money into his account while a third person that was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and convicted in 2017, also paid money into Cubana’s account,” said a source. The issue celebrates the rise of the African model and talks to some of those ‘redrawing the map’ and shoots the women with a dark lighting scheme. Explaining the inspiration behind shooting an all black, all African cover, Edward, who was born in Ghana and moved to west London as a child, said: ‘I saw all these incredible models from across Africa who were just so vivacious and smart. ‘These girls are redefining what it is to be a fashion model.’

Burna Boy and I disagree over how money should be spent – Mum

Bose Ogulu who also doubled as his manager, revealed this in an interview that was recently aired on CNN.

When asked what she and her son disagree with the most, she answered that it was expenditure. Bose noted that she and her son, born Damini Ogulu, do not have the same thoughts when it came to money.

“We don’t think we should be spending money on the same thing,” she said.

According to her, Burna Boy comes up with ideas without thinking of how much it would cost; even when they plan video shoots.

Bose said, “So he comes up with really crazy ideas without really thinking about what it costs or what it doesn’t cost. And so, my first reaction would be no, that’s not going to work. How are we going to make back that money?”

The manager-mum then revealed that she has, however, learned that her answers shouldn’t always be no.

Rather, they’d find a way to make things look like what Burna boy wanted without having to spend much money.

“And then I learned that it’s not ‘no’. It’s just that we should find a way of still making it look like what he wants or close to what he wants without spending as much,” she said.

Newscaster Bukola Samuel Wemimo, who left TVC for Channels TV, has warned of a scammer prowling the internet.

She shared photos of the alleged fraudster on social media with the caption, ” FRAUDULENT ONLINE TRANSACTION,” noting that she made has been stood up after making payment for shoes.

Read her statement below…

To whom it may concern,

I am writing this complaint against the owner of this Instagram account by the name @Kidoclassic_mall. I ordered two shoes from her online mall and paid 38500 for the shoes and delivery service. Her condition was that payment validates order. She explained that she was out of stock on the type I ordered and she would have to pre-order it from her supplier. The transaction was done conducted on the 13th of December 2021 and sine then she has not delivered the shoes neither has she sent a refund. Her first date of delivery was after Christmas which she failed to meet. Then she shifted delivery date yet again to today being a few days after new year,  but I haven’t heard anything concrete from her so far. Instead she blocked me on her Instagram account, the same page where I ordered the shoes from, and has since  resorted to all manner of insults which can be found in the WhatsApp chat history with her that is attached to these complaint documents.

I gave her an option of exchange which I was supposed to deliver today, but typical of a deceitful person, she has shifted the goal post again. 

Her name is Jane Kidochukwu Matthias. Her DP picture along with transaction receipt and other details are attached to this post. She runs a Zenith Bank account.

Drake Allegedly Put Hot Sauce in Used Condom to Kill His Sperm

Rumours are making rounds that an unidentified Instagram model has accused Drake of lacing his condoms with hot sauce.

According to the Instagram blog, Too Much Tea, the model recently hung out with Drake and after a night with him, she sieved through his trash for the condom they used and tried to artificially inseminate herself with it. Turns out that the rapper allegedly had laced the waste with hot sauce, which burned her.

Indian man launches app to auction Muslim women

Police in India have arrested a man suspected of creating an app that put up photos of more than 80 Muslim women for “sale” online last year.

The open source app – Sulli Deals – had been hosted on web platform GitHub in July 2021.

The 25-year-old was arrested days after a similar app – Bulli Bai – uploaded photos of more than 100 Muslim women, BBC writes.

Four students, including a 21-year-old student who allegedly created the second app, were arrested.

In both cases, there was no actual sale, but the purpose was to degrade and humiliate Muslim women, many of whom have been outspoken about the rising tide of Hindu nationalism under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Sulli” is a derogatory Hindi slang term right-wing Hindu trolls use for Muslim women, and “bulli” is also pejorative.

After the Bulli Bai app generated outrage online, one of the women who had filed a police complaint in July alleged that police in the capital Delhi had not taken any action yet.

On Sunday, police arrested Aumkareshwar Thakur from Indore city in the central state of Madhya Pradesh where his devices are being analysed.

The Sulli Deals app had taken publicly available pictures of women and created profiles, describing the women as “deals of the day”.

Those featured on the app were all vocal Muslims, including journalists, activists, artists or researchers.

Sinead O’Connor’s 17-year-old son has died two days after he was reported missing, as the heartbroken singer told fans that he had ‘decided to end his earthly struggle’.

The Irish singer, 55, gave a touching tribute to her ‘beautiful’ son Shane, who she shares with her ex, folk singer Donal Lunny, on Twitter as she confirmed the news.

In a devastating tweet, she wrote: ‘My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God.

‘May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace:’

Shane, who went missing on Thursday, was one of Sinead’s four children – Jake Reynolds, Roisin Waters and Yeshua Francis Neil Bonadio.

Nollywood actress, Shaffy Bello, has described her divorce from her husband as a huge sacrifice.

Bello said this in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, which was published on Friday.

She said, “I left my husband because he allowed me. We divorced 5 years ago when I was 45 and that was a huge sacrifice.

“He is a good man and father to the children. The distance affected us; long distance relationship was difficult but I knew I wanted this. If I go back, it will be too much of a sacrifice.

“I wouldn’t be myself and at some point, I would resent him so I had to focus on what I wanted. I don’t regret the decision I took.”

Going down memory lane, the actress noted that she had earlier left her children to come to Nigeria in search of ‘greener pastures.’

She said “I came back to Nigeria to spread my wings. I felt like I was pregnant and couldn’t have a child; like my wings were sort of closed in, like I was boxed in.

“I needed more; my soul needed more. I was yearning for more. I didn’t know the price that would come with it but I had to make the sacrifice.

“I paid the price of not having a connection with my children then. My daughter was 13, my son was 11. I was a hands -on mother before I left them.

“At one point, I even quit my job to raise my kids. I sacrificed a lot for them to be nurtured only to now leave them in their early teenage years with their father and then again, their dad is out there making a living and I am here in Nigeria making a living so they missed the joint parental touch but that is about that.”

Revealing that she could give love a second chance, Bello said, “Yes, I will. I love marriage and marriage at this age for me is gonna be sweet, no babies to nurture, just enjoyment.”

Speaking to The Visibility Lunch Hour, Banky W revealed that he struggled with promiscuity and pornography and he felt he was on bondage and needed cleansing.

“In the eyes of the world I was a successful artiste, but I still felt empty and wretched. There were things I was struggling with on a personal basis. Everything from promiscuity to pornography just, real things that people struggled with on a personal basis.

“This is now getting to areas where one feel that one is in bondage and one is trying to clean oneself. So you are just stuck in this place of feeling far from God, feeling separated from God. Feeling that I have made a little bit of money but I am still not happy”, he said.

Ernest Shonekan dies at 85

Chief Ernest Shonekan, the former head of the Interim National Government that succeeded the military junta of General Ibrahim Babangida, is dead. . A British trained lawyer, industrialist, politician and traditional chieftain, he served as Nigeria’s 9th president.

Shonekan, a boardroom guru before his selection to head the Interim National Government, died in Lagos at the age of 85, according to TVC.

He was the Chairman of the interim National Government between August 26 and November 17 1993 when he was ousted in a palace coup led by late General Sani Abacha who was Secretary of Defence.

Poet Maya Angelou becomes first Black woman to appear on US coin

Poet and activist Maya Angelou has become the first Black woman to appear on the US quarter, in a new version of the coin unveiled by the US Mint on Monday.

Angelou, author of “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” will also be the first figure commemorated through the American Women Quarters Program, which was signed into law in January 2021.

The US Mint “has begun shipping the first coins” with Angelou’s likeness on the American quarter, a 25-cent piece, according to a press release from the agency.

“It is my honor to present our nation’s first circulating coins dedicated to celebrating American women and their contributions to American history,” said Mint Deputy Director Ventris Gibson.

Ubi Franklin has shared a crpytic post, shortly after Royal Hairs boss, Steve Thompson broke the news that his 5 months marriage to Sandra Iheuwa has ended.

Few hours ago, Thompson took to his official Instagram page to confirm viral rumours that his marriage to Sandra has hit the rocks, barely 5 months after their luxury N45 million wedding.

Steve said he wasted 45 million Naira to marry Sandra only to discover that Sandra “married for social media, not for the home.”

He added that Sandra fights everyone, including his family members and constantly reminds him that she’s an American and tells him that he married her to get “Green card”.

He said his marriage can no longer work because of Sandra’s “too much use of social media.”
