YouTube Is Removing All Videos That Spread Misinformation About Vaccines

YouTube has said it will remove content that spreads misinformation
about all approved vaccines, expanding a ban on false claims about the
Covid-19 vaccine.
Videos
that say approved vaccines are dangerous and cause autism, cancer or
infertility are among those that will be taken down, the company said.
The policy includes the termination of accounts of anti-vaccine influencers.
Tech giants have been criticised for not doing more to counter false health information on their sites.
In July, US President Joe Biden said
social media platforms were largely responsible for people’s scepticism
in getting vaccinated by spreading misinformation, and appealed for them
to address the issue.
YouTube, which is owned by Google,
said 130,000 videos were removed from its platform since last year, when
it implemented a ban on content spreading misinformation about Covid
vaccines.
In
a blog post, the company said it had seen false claims about Covid jabs
“spill over into misinformation about vaccines in general”. The new
policy covers long-approved vaccines, such as those against measles or
hepatitis B.
“We’re expanding our medical
misinformation policies on YouTube with new guidelines on currently
administered vaccines that are approved and confirmed to be safe and
effective by local health authorities and the WHO,” the post said,
referring to the World Health Organization.

Demi Lovato has granted an interview to discuss life after coming out as gender nonbinary and what influenced her decision.
In May, the singer, songwriter, actor and activist came out as nonbinary.
Speaking during an interview with TODAY's Hoda Kotb which aired
Thursday, September 30, Demi said she came out as nonbinary because
she's equally as masculine as she is feminine and her feminine and
masculine energy are equal.
She explained that she sometimes still gets confused and finds
herself saying, "I can't wait to be an aunt" before correcting herself.
She added that since she is nonbinary, she will probably used "Auncle", a combination of aunty and uncle.
As for the gender she's attracted to, she said: "I’m very fluid, so I date men and women.
"But I identify as pansexual, which is I'm attracted to human beings,
and it doesn't matter what you identify as. If you're nonbinary as
well, if you are a straight man or if you're fluid as well, I don't hold
myself back from sharing my love with anybody."

I was abused by ‘predator’ priest at Catholic school - ‘Bachelorette’ Clare Crawley

American television personality, Clare Crawley has said that she is a victim of sexual abuse.
In Thursday’s installment of Facebook Watch’s “Red Table Talk: The
Estefans,” the Season 16 “Bachelorette" star said she was sexually
abused by a priest while attending a Catholic school.
Crawley who grew up in Sacramento, California, explained that the
priest in question was largely perceived as a “counselor” at her school.
She also added that her mother is of Mexican descent and faith and
religion runs “very deep" in her family root.
She said;
“I grew up going to a Catholic school and I was the victim of a predator.
“My parents looked at Catholic priests as — they held them on a pedestal.
“My parents did the best they could and reached out for the resources they could at the time and sent me to this priest.
“I don’t think there was any counseling that was done. It was a one-on-one time to be a predator.”
Crawley first revealed that she was a “child of sexual abuse” in a
July Instagram post, where she explained her decision to remove her
breast implants.
At the time, she wrote;
"Self love is the act of giving a voice to your truth. So here is mine.
"As a child of sexual abuse, my young adult years were spent in
unhealthy relationships feeling unworthy of the good ones. It was a
vicious cycle, because the more I chose the wrong men who treated me
poorly, the more I believed I wasn't good enough.
“My young adult years were spent in unhealthy relationships feeling unworthy of the good ones.
"I went under the knife because I believed I wasn’t good enough.
"Cut to now. A woman who has learned to love herself deeply on the
inside, knows her worth, and will fight for herself no matter what.
"I've learned the toxicity that these implants can cause on our
bodies, as it has done to mine. So I am stepping away from something
that no longer serves me … not my heart, and certainly not my health."

Google marks Nigeria’s 61st Independence with eagle Doodle

Global tech company, Google, has marked Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day celebration by creating a unique doodle.
As a way of marking the celebration, Google Doodle icon for October
1, 2021 depicts the national colour – green and white – complete with
the eagle that stands atop the national coat of arms.
Explaining the design, Google Doodle wrote, “On this day in 1960,
Africa’s most populous country (with over 200 million inhabitants)
became a sovereign republic, an anniversary commemorated as Nigeria’s
Independence Day.
“Today’s
Doodle celebrates this monumental occasion with a depiction of
Nigeria’s national animal and symbol of strength— the eagle.
“In the Nigerian coat of arms, a red eagle spreads its wings above a
wreath of green and white — the national colors also featured in the
Doodle artwork that represent fertility and peace, respectively.
“Below these symbols, the Nigerian motto serves as the foundation for the coat of arms: ‘Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress.’

I started to calm down and cool down because I didn’t want to come accross as desperate. We all want people to like us. We all want to be loved.
Before now, I used to walk into rooms and think, to myself, “do they like me? Now, I walk into rooms and think to myself, “do I even like them?” It is what it is.

Femi Adesina’s impersonator bags 28 years imprisonment

A Kwara State High Court, Ilorin on Thursday sentenced Jamiu Isiaka to 28 years’ imprisonment for impersonation and fraud.
Justice
Mahmud Abdulgafar found Mr Isiaka guilty of the four counts brought
against him and sentenced him to seven years’ imprisonment on each
count, which would run concurrently.
In
addition, the judge ordered the forfeiture of some property recovered
from the convict, which were proceeds of his unlawful activities,
including a four-bedroom bungalow and a Toyota Corolla.
The
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had on June 14, 2019 arraigned
Isiaka on four counts bordering on impersonation, fraud and obtaining
money by false pretences.
N5bn fraud: Ex-JAMB registrar Jibu Ojerinde moves to change lawyer

Former
registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Prof. Dibu
Ojerinde on Wednesday told the Federal High Court, Abuja of his decision
to change his lawyer.
Prior to his decision, Peter Olorunnisola
had been appearing for Ojerinde in the N5 billion money laundering
charge preferred against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and
Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Ojerinde, the ICPC alleged, committed multiple frauds while he was head of JAMB.
Justice
Obiora Egwuatu had on July 8 admitted Ojerinde to bail in the sum of
N200 million with two sureties among other conditions.
However,
when the matter was called for commencement on Wednesday, Itieubong
Usoro, who held brief for Olorunnisola, notified the court of the
decision of Ojerinde to disengage the present chamber from his matter.
Usoro
hinted that Ojerinde and Olorunnisola were yet to harmonise on some
issues, particularly about professional fees in order for the former
lawyer to formally withdraw from the matter.
He then sought an adjournment to enable the issues to be resolved.
ICPC
counsel Ebenezer Shogunle said though the defendant was entitled to
seek an adjournment, this should not be used to delay the trial.
The judge ruled that the prosecution will present its witnesses on October 8.

Tunisia gets first female Prime Minister, Najla Bouden Romdhane

Tunisian President Kais Saied has named Najla Bouden Romdhane, a
little-known university engineer who worked with the World Bank, as the
country’s first female prime minister, nearly two months after he seized
most powers in a move his foes call a coup.
Romdhane will take office at a time of national crisis, with the
democratic gains won in a 2011 revolution in doubt and as a major threat
looms over public finances.
Obama kicks off building of $700m presidential centre

Obama presided on Tuesday over a
ceremonial groundbreaking at the future Obama Presidential Center in
Chicago, saying he hopes the facility will be a hub of global civic
activism.
Construction of the $700 million centre, blocks from the University
of Chicago on the city’s South Side, began in August despite opposition
from local activists. Donations to the Obama Foundation are paying for
the project.
Due to be completed in 2025, it will house a museum of artifacts from
Obama’s 2009-2017 presidency and be a public gathering space for
cultural and educational events.
The Democrat made history as the first Black U.S. president.

Nollywood actor, Lateef Adedimeji has

completed her first official movie titled, “Dark October”, and it’s
about the infamous “Aluu four boys” which happened in Port-Harcourt in
2012.

Kemi Filani News recalls that Richard Mofe Damijo, sparked reactions
on social media after revealing he has never kissed his colleague, Sola Sobowale, despite starring in movies as married couples for 37 years together.
In a video shared by Sobowale on her Instagram page, RMD said it is
surprising that they have never locked lips in front of a camera despite
all these years.
Still
holding on to the dream of kissing his colleague, RMD stated that he
hopes to still be relevant in the movie industry in the next ten years,
and, by that time, he ought to have kissed Sobowale on a movie set.
Richard Mofe Damijo, who has been on the movie scene for decades and
often plays intimate roles in several films, lock lips with some ladies.
Hence many movie lovers believed the veteran actor had kissed almost
all the females in the Nollywood industry.
Reacting
to the video, some social media users averred that Sola Sobowale does
not feature in romantic movies, describing her as an iron lady.
On the other hand, some pointed out that movies that RMD and Sola
Sobowale feature are continuously marred with issues in their marriage, a
reference to ‘Gold Statue’.
