Kano court prevents lawmakers from investigating Anti-Corruption boss, Rimin-Gado

A Kano State High Court, on Friday, July 23, restrained the House of Assembly from investigating the suspended Executive Secretary of the State’s Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCAC), Malam Muhuyi Rimin-Gado.

The judge adjourned the matter till Aug. 6 for a hearing.

The PCAC executive secretary, Rimin-Gado, filed a motion on July 22 urging the court to keep the Kano State House of Assembly (KSHA) to investigate the activities of his commission, the Daily Trust reports. Rimin-Gado, through his defense counsel, Mr. MK Umar, prayed to the court to prevent the respondents from taking any further step until the Request for Notification was heard and determined. At the continued hearing on Friday, July 23, the judiciary of Sanusi Ado-Ma’aji answered the prayers of Rimin-Gad and restrained the respondents to investigate the activities of the commission until it decides on the Request for Information. Ado-Ma’aji also granted an expedited hearing on the issue and shortened the time in which respondents could file and supply their proper court proceedings on the issue. He considered that "the service of the proceedings of this court in this matter should be influenced by serving the office of the State Attorney of the State of Kano." “feel free to disagree in the comments and let me know what you think!” 📎 COMMENTS 👀 ☝️👆👈👉✍️🤳 DROP YOUR OPINIONS
