Oh wow! Tok star 👑 The joy of the Lord upon you shall be forever... I always say "one with God is a majority" Toke, you are "a one woman squad" A type of woman 'some people' love to hate cos they cant understand your success. You started as an OAP but i still remember people not knowing what yu did for a living asking "who is dis Toke, waka wakaring from one event to the other" to you "becoming" a T.v personality and a big brand. that is God!
(The extraordinary strategist) Since we Cldnt see what you were doing well, he shoved you down our throats😂 As if that wasn't enough, now we're all reading you. I applaud you for being so honest in this book not only did you talk about your partners issues, you also talked about your insecurities, you said n i quote "you lived in constant fear of loosing him" that including many others is you taking the blame. This book is not a hate my ex book, "On becoming, i believe was honestly written out of love, to inspire, teach and equip everyone, all women especially the young ones in choosing a partner and generally knowing when to let go of anything you are forcing to work in your life. Toke i pray that Gods grace will increase in you abundantly and may your light continue to shine that the world will come to the brightness of your shinning. Keep spreading my love @tokemakinwa 🙏 Get a copy of On becoming for yourself and a loved one.
I don’t think it is because they are being extravagant, how many people are to begin with? The truth of the matter is a lot of people are known faces but they are not actually making the type of money people think they make.
Then again, it is an individual thing, it is either you are here or you are there but the truth is a lot of people don’t make that kind of money they think we have.
Some people think we get paid 10 million for acting {laughs} so a lot of times, actors want to live up to false expectations from their fans and that is how they get into trouble.
As far as I am concerned, if you are paid in Nigeria and you want a Gucci bag and you convert your Naira to dollars to go and buy it because Kim Kardashian is carrying it, it doesn’t make sense because she earns dollars.
So for me it is not about being extravagant, everybody loves the good things of life but you have to draw a balance. It is about not truly making that huge amount that actors and actresses make.”
“We enjoy the stardom and attention but sometimes you just want to walk past unnoticed and just be yourself but I wouldn’t give this up for anything in the world. I love it and appreciate it.”
‘I decided to do this No7 thing because I thought it might be fun, and then they will give me free makeup. And I’m always up for free things. It wasn’t a carefully calculated thing. It was actually just my being blinded by the selfish overwhelming love of makeup. But I have to be honest, there were times when I thought, ‘Well, what have I done?’ I wasn’t quite aware of how many pictures of me would be out there. It makes me feel a little vulnerable. I told my friends to stop sending me pictures of when they see me at the bus stop in London or something. It’d be very dishonest to say it’s all wonderful. It’s not so much a question of regret. But it does come with feelings of vulnerability that can be uncomfortable.’
