Exfoliation has been used for thousands of years to help maintain good skin. The ancient Egyptians are recognized as being the first to use exfoliating treatments.

 History also reveals that during the Middle Ages, wine, with its active ingredient tartaric acid, a natural AHA, was used as a chemical exfoliant. As we age, the process of cell turnover slows down. Cells start to accumulate unevenly on the skin's surface, giving it a dry, rough and dull appearance. WHAT IS EXFOLIATION? Exfoliation is the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface. Exfoliation is the natural shedding process of the skin. Every 30 days our skin gets a new layer of skin cells. The skin cells are born at the basal cell layer, the lowest layer of the epidermis.
The epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin, the one you can see and touch. The skin cells start out at the basal cell layer nice and plump and around. They journey upward through the layers of the epidermis until they reach the stratum corneum or skin's surface. As they travel upward, they flatten out and are eventually sloughed off. The entire cycle takes about 30 days. Exfoliation is beneficial because it removes these dead, dry, dulling cells that are holding on, revealing the fresher, younger skin cells beneath. If you want your skin to look its best, you should exfoliate your skin on a regular basis. Exfoliation treatments should be done at least once a week and followed with a moisturizer.

 The Rev. Al Sharpton was so upset at the overall lack of Black contenders for Academy Awards this year he has called an emergency meeting with a film industry task force. Sharpton called the meeting to discuss the “appalling” “The movie industry is like the Rocky Mountains, the higher you get, the whiter it gets,” Sharpton said in a statement.
His National Action Network has created a task force on the movie industry to deal with diversity. And Sharpton has an inside contact. Following the Sony email hacking scandal that received what many presumed as racist emails from Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal, she contacted Sharpton to help calm the situation.
“The lack of diversity in today’s Oscar nominations is appalling and while it is good that ‘Selma’ was nominated for ‘Best Picture,’ it’s ironic that they nominated a story about the racial shutout around voting while there is a racial shutout around the Oscar nominations. With all of the talent in ‘Selma’ and other Black movies this year, it is hard to believe that we have less diversity in the nominations today than in recent history,” he said.

Grabar-Kitarovic wins @Croatia

The  conservative Grabar-Kitarovic, an ex-foreign minister and former NATO official, won 50.4 percent of the vote, according to results based on more than 99 % of the ballots cast. “Grabar-Kitarovic won in a democratic battle and I congratulate her,” 57-year-old Josipovic told supporters at his Zagreb headquarters. The 46-year-old candidate of the main opposition HDZ party will be the first woman to take the helm of the European Union’s newest member state. She is also the first female head of state chosen by voters in the largely patriarchal Balkans region since Kosovo’s Atifete Jahjaga was elected by parliament in 2011. The vote was always expected to be close. Josipovic won 38.5 percent of the vote, just edging Grabar-Kitarovic with 37.2 percent. The presidency in Croatia is a largely ceremonial position, but the vote was considered an important test for the main political parties before the parliamentary elections expected in the second half of the year. As young global leaders we would like to express our deep concern about the recent situations in Nigeria.
The massacre in Baga has been Boko Haram’s deadliest so far and what has it met with? Your silence. Most disturbing still is the fact that you would send a message to France condemning the killings there, yet seem unable to address the Nigerian people who look to you for leadership. Unfortunately, it would not be the first time
On 10 November 2014 a suicide bomber killed 47 people and injured 79 others. The following day, with barely a mention of this horrific incident targetting children, you launched your re-election campaign.
And despite the ease with which you move on, even you will remember the abduction of the schoolgirls in Chibok in April last year. It was 40 days before you addressed the country on that occasion. Nigerians waited, perplexed, as your government debated whether or not the abductions had even taken place. As a result, of all the girls captured, only 52 have secured their freedom – escaping on their own. The rest are still in captivity, still waiting to be rescued, 276 days after being taken from their friends, family and community.

Seasoned actress, Stephanie Linus Extended Hands Foundation gave free VVF repair surgeries to 15 women in Ilorin. Since its inception, the goal of the Extended Hands Foundation has been to restore hope and put smiles on the faces of women.

For some years now, the foundation has been focused on helping women with Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) – a serious disability that can be experienced by women after childbirth – and giving them a chance at living normal lives through free repair surgeries.
Recently through the support of Diamond Bank PLC , 15 women living with VVF received free repair surgeries at the Kwara Specialist Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State.Vesico Vaginal Fistula  (VVF)   is a serious disability that can be experienced by women after childbirth.     
The effort was lauded by the First Lady of Kwara State Mrs Omolewa Ahmed who received Stephanie Linus and her team from Extended Hands Foundation as well as the Diamond Bank team at the State House in Ilorin. She commended their effort and pledged her support to the eradication of VVF in Kwara State. 
The state Commissioner for Health Alhaji Kayode Issah , also received the Extended Hands Foundation and Diamond Bank Team during their stay in Ilorin, commending them as well for their effort.

Toolz took to instagram "Went to the Dustbin Estate in Ajegunle for the first time to donate food and I'm still lost for words. The people there build their houses with planks on refuse dumps. I spoke with the community leader and he said that the government forget about them. Most of the houses were smaller than my bedroom and had to accommodate whole families sometimes. There's really no running water and only a handful of the houses have electricity".

During an interview with Power 105’s The Breakfast Club yesterday, Singer Jordin Spark, who split from Jason Derulo in July 2014, revealed that he broke up with her and never said a word to her again! She said she didn't even know they were officially broken up when he decided to call it quits. Jordin said after a big argument one day, Jason left the house they shared. She said she'd apologized to him before he left, so she assumed everything was fine. After she didn't hear from him for several hours, she called his phone but he never responded. She said she kept calling him but he never called back or contact her for a long time. Then she sent him a text and told him to get his things out of her house (he was living with her). She said he came and got his things and that was the last time she heard from him.
 Jordin said she did get a BMW as a gift from him but later found out that he leased the vehicle. She said she took the car back to BMW dealership and bought herself a brand new Jeep for her birthday.

Boko Haram Holds 500 Women And Children At School In #Baga @BokoHaramWatch

Boko Haram fighters detained hundreds of women and children at a school in the northeast Nigerian town of Baga after a massive attack earlier this month, one woman who was freed told AFP. “There were over 500 women and hundreds of children,” Kaltuma Wari, who was released earlier this week, said by telephone from the Borno State capital, Maiduguri, on Thursday evening.
