A female California corrections officer has been jailed for reportedly having sex with an inmate in front of 11 other inmates. 

Tina Gonzalez, 26, who worked as a Fresno County corrections officer since 2016 was arrested in May 2020 following an investigation into her misconduct. The Sheriff's Office was reportedly given a hint that an inmate had been having sex with a correctional officer and that she had smuggled in a phone.

The investigation revealed that alongside a phone, Gonzalez had smuggled in razors, which could have been used as weapons.

Actor Don Cheadle started 2021 as a married man.

While appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday, the 56-year-old actor revealed to guest host Wanda Sykes that he and his longtime love, Bridgid Coulter, got married amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The news was first revealed during Cheadle’s visit to the daytime talk show series when Sykes, 57, said she owed the actor an apology. “You texted me at the top of the year, I guess, and you told me that you just got married,” the comedian said. “And I was like, ‘Oh damn, the pandemic got to Don and Bridgid.'”

“I was like, ‘What the hell happened, man?'” she continued to joke, before noting that her response back to Cheadle was less than enthusiastic. “I think I just text something back, like, ‘Hey, if you’re happy, I’m happy for you.’ … I was like, ‘Cheadle went Hollywood.'”

After Sykes explained to Cheadle that she wasn’t aware that he and Coulter weren’t already married, the Black Monday star said that he could understand why she came to that conclusion. “Yeah, I mean, that’s understandable given that we’ve been together 28 years before we got married,” Cheadle said. “I hold you blameless.”

Despite only recently tying the knot, the couple — who have been together since 1992 — share two daughters, Ayana and Imani and previously appeared in Rosewood together.

Later in his Ellen appearance, Cheadle also opened up about how he had his famous friends help him make sure he didn’t put on any weight amid the pandemic.

When first asked by Sykes why Anthony Anderson was challenging him to “the Big Willie Challenge” on social media, Cheadle joked, “No one told him to do that,” before he explained the whole ordeal began with friends and fellow actors Chris Spencer and Will Smith.

“This whole thing started, really, with Chris Spencer and Will Smith going back and forth, and then Will famously did his picture … so I don’t know why he keeps tagging me,” the actor quipped.

“During the pandemic, when this whole thing started, I started doing push-ups and sit-ups and planks and texting,” he said. “I’m on this text chain with DL Hughley and Anthony Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer and George Lopez and Chris.”

“And it was just to stay accountable to each other so we didn’t get the COVID-19 pounds during the pandemic,” he added.

Nkechi Blessing apologises to Jide Kosoko & TAMPAN

Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, has apologised to the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria days after she and Iyabo Ojo, were issued a stern warning for embarrassing the association.

The actress apologised to Jide Kosoko, a veteran actor who is also a member of the board of trustees of TAMPAN.

Blessing had been suspended alongside another actor, Kehinde Adams, aka Lege, for fighting dirty on social media over the arrest of their colleague, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijesha, who was accused of sexually molesting a minor.

Shortly after, the Board of Trustees of TAMPAN and the Elders of the Nigerian Motion Picture Industry also barred their members from engaging Ojo and Blessing in movie projects.

Her apology comes few hours after Ojo tendered her apology to TAMPAN.

Blessing on her verified Instagram page wrote, “The last couple of days have been of mixed feelings, anger, concern, disbelief, shock, and confusion.

“I did not get why TAMPAN directed their members not to work with me because there is nowhere that I spoke against TAMPAN, respected elders and colleagues who are their members.

“The only thing I have done is to speak against the culture of rape, pedophilia attitude and stood against Legemiami who tactically gave support to a man who has been alleged to s€xually harass a minor.

I will never be friends with those who are friendly towards assault, s€xual harassment and molestion of any kind. I had to speak against this culture because this minor needs to be protected and this is not just about the minor in particular, it’s about the minors all over the world especially minors in the Nigerian space.

“For so long a time, many people do not see what the big deal is about s€xual harassment, rape and assault on women generally and the sickening trend now are those men who seek pleasure in assaulting minors s£xually.

“No reasonable person should keep quiet upon hearing about the assault of a minor. As much as we should seek the truth, our first reaction should be to protect the minor and perpetuate awareness against s.e.xual assault of minors, that was what I did and I would be more than glad to do that again,” she said.

Blessing stated that she has nothing but love and respect for TAMPAN, its members, and the elders.

She acknowledged the fact that her response to Kosoko’s threat against her career was disrespectful and apologised.

She said, “I sincerely apologise to him and I say I’m sorry sir…as I was driven by emotions but I will never be sorry for standing against rape, s.e.xual assault and molestation of minors”

Britney Spears Loses Bid to Remove Dad from Conservatorship

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge denied on Wednesday a motion to remove Britney Spears’ father James from his role as a conservator of his daughter’s $60 million estate, making official a November request to allow a trust to act as co-conservator of her estate.

“The conservator’s request to suspend James P. Spears immediately upon the appointment of Bessemer Trust Company of California as sole conservator of estate is denied without prejudice,” court documents filed on Wednesday stated, according to Variety.

The Los Angeles Superior Court ruling was a response to a request filed in November by Spears’ lawyer to add wealth management firm Bessemer Trust to the troubling conservatorship and remove her dad, Variety said.

Spears’ lawyer, Samuel Ingham III, had said the star was “afraid of her father” and would refuse to perform again if he remained in control.

Marlon Wayans has shared the inspiration behind the movie, White Chicks.

The actor and filmmaker who alongside his brother, Shawn Wayans played the lead roles in the highly successful 2004 comedy, revealed their characters were inspired by Paris Hilton and her, Nicky.

Marlon Wayans shared a photo of himself and Paris and referred to her as the original “white chick”. He then went on to tell the story of how Shawn called him at 3am I. The morning, several years ago saying, “Marlon, we should play white chicks.”

He revealed that for his initial reaction, he dubbed his brother crazy but he didn’t give up and came the next day with a magazine which had Paris and Nicky Hilton on the cover and the rest was history after that.

Marlon thanked Paris and Nicky for being the muses for their film.

‘Buhari may soon begin to arrest priests, bishops’ – Mbaka

Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka says the Buhari administration may begin to arrest priests in the country.

Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), suggested that clerics speaking the truth to power risk persecution and incarceration should things continue on this downward spiral.

“Suffering has become part of our history, but it will not continue like this forever,” the Buhari ally-turned critic stated.

“Everybody cannot be dumb at the same time. Nigerians should not be suffering.”

The Federal government has condemned the alleged killing of a Nigerian Footballer, Kelvin Igweani, by the UK police.

Recall that Igweani, a Nigerian Footballer, was shot dead by officers, who attended a call out to a house, where a child was found with serious injuries.

Reacting, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), in Abuja on Wednesday described the incident as very unfortunate,and sad.

Dabiri-Erewa condoled with the family of the deceased and the Nigerian communities in the UK while praying that God grants rest to the soul of the departed.

Sugar Rush actress Adesua Etomi has blasted a lady who criticized her for being angry at her driver for wrecking her car a few years ago.

In a post shared on the microblogging platform Twitter, the actress said she’s constantly upset anytime she remembers that the driver wrecked her car, which never happened even after three years of buying the vehicle.

Reacting to the post, a Twitter user identified as Shawama berated Adesua Etomi for being angry at her driver and still unable to get over the incident stating such an incident can happen to anyone no matter how one tries to be careful.

Responding, Adesuwa blasted the lady stating she does not have a right to send such a reply, especially when she does not know the circumstance of the accident.

North Korea’s Kim sacks top officials over handling of Covid-19 outbreak

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un replaced several senior officials after a “grave incident” in the country’s efforts to defend itself against the coronavirus, state media reported Wednesday.

Pyongyang closed its borders in January last year to defend itself against the pandemic that first emerged in neighbouring China and has gone on to sweep the world.

It has not publicly confirmed any cases of the disease at any point, neither in state media nor in the test statistics it has disclosed to the World Health Organization.

But officials had “caused a grave incident that poses a huge crisis to the safety of the nation and its people”, Kim told a politburo meeting, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

It did not specify any details of what had happened.
But Kim added that the “incompetence and irresponsibility of the senior officials are a major factor that hampers the implementation of important tasks”, adding that they were “captivated by selfishness and passivity”.

Speaking to the judge, the singer said that her dad enjoys controlling her life, adding that she believes that her conservators, including her father, should be in jail, and that she wants to sue her family.

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has stated that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, was rearrested in Kenya.

 Omokri disclosed that the United Kingdom was not aware of Kanu’s rearrest and extradition to Nigeria.

In a tweet, Omokri said the government official disclosed that Kanu’s detention was illegal.

Omokri wrote: “I just spoke with a top UK government source. Nnamdi Kanu was NOT arrested or extradited by the British.

A former United States defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, has been reported dead.

Rumsfeld was the Defence Secretary during the Iraq war until he was replaced by former President George W. Bush.

A statement issued by his family on Wednesday disclosed that Rumsfeld died at the age of 88

The statement said, “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Donald Rumsfeld, an American statesman and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

“At 88, he was surrounded by family in his beloved Taos, New Mexico.”

AP is reporting that Pennsylvania’s highest court has tossed out Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction, giving him an opening to be immediately released from prison.

According to the comedian who was once known as “America’s Dad” won in the court because the prosecutor who brought the case had been bound by his predecessor’s agreement not to charge Cosby.

The report adds:

Cosby, 83, has served more than 2 years of a three- to 10-year sentence after being found guilty of drugging and violating Temple University sports administrator Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. He was the first celebrity tried and convicted in the #MeToo era.

Allison Mack Sentenced to Prison Over Role in Nxivm Cult

Actress, Allison Mack was slammed with a 3 year prison sentence on Wednesday, June 30 for serving as a Nxivm “slave master.”

Brooklyn federal court Judge, Nicholas Garaufis meted out the light sentence — 117 years shorter than Nxivm leader Keith Raniere’s punishment.

“In the language of [the cult], you were a slave as well as a master … It is hard to determine an appropriate sentence for a perpetrator who is also her co-conspirator’s victim,” Gaurafis told Mack.

He added that her punishment needed to serve as a “forceful deterrent,” but told Mack that he did not “doubt that you were also manipulated and that you also felt captive.”

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was lured to a location in an African country with a promise of cash donation in millions of dollars before he was arrested.

Nigerians were shocked Tuesday to learn of Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest and re-arraignment in court on charges of treason and illegal possession of firearms, among others.

The attorney-general of the federation, Abubakar Malami, told newsmen Tuesday that Kanu was arrested on Sunday and repatriated to Nigeria, without disclosing the location.
