 Adeboye has revealed why the church didn't hold crossover services on 31 night.

In a sermon titled ‘Divine Lifting’ and delivered at the Church headquarters in Lagos yesterday January 4, the cleric expressed displeasure over the restrictions on crossover services which made it impossible for Christian denominations to hold the traditional vigil on December 31. 

Recounting how he instructed members of his church to observe the crossover in their homes, the Pastor stated that it was funny to him to cross over by 10pm on December 31. 

Wondering why authorities were afraid of people being infected with the virus at the midnight service, Pastor Adeboye said nobody told him that Coronavirus is a witch because it is only witches that fly at night.

Government increases electricity tariff by over 50%

The Nigerian government has yet again approved an increase in electricity tariff payable by electricity consumers in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, approved over 50 per cent hike in electricity tariff payable by customers of the 11 Distribution Companies, DisCos.

Daily Trust reported that a Multi Year Tariff Order (MYTO) signed by the new Chairman of NERC, Sanusi Garba, on December 30, 2020, showed that the new tariff increase took effect on January 1, 2021.

The new increment is coming barely 2 months after the implementation of the controversial hike proposed last year.

Lagos State Commissioner of health, Professor Akin Abayomi who was represented at the hospital said the baby of the year is a symbolic event.

The commissioner represented by the the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Olusegun Ogboye, said, “For us in the Ministry of Health, the First Baby of the Year is a symbolic event. As a state, the very first activity of the government every year is seen to focus on health care.

“Its significance is demonstrated by the priority it is given, with the visit of the wife of our Governor and the many important dignitaries, who could have been elsewhere, but have chosen to spend their first few hours of the new year here in our public hospitals.”

A statement issued on Friday by Mikail Mumuni, Group Corporate Affairs Manager of the company said Mr. Salu, formerly the Head of Operations of BASL died on Thursday, December 24, 2020 after a brief illness.

Mumuni in the statement quoted the Chairman of BASL, Dr. Wale Babalakin SAN as describing the death of Mr. Salu as “a big loss to the company, his family and the Nigerian Aviation sector.”

Ola via her Twitter handle, revealed she was on oxygen for over a week. She said months after contracting the virus, she still shows symptoms of the ailment.

''This year I was almost kidnapped on the way to a healthcare project in the notorious Birnin Gwari Local Government area.

I also had COVID19. Despite being fit with no pre-existing conditions, I stopped breathing (a medical emergency) and had to be on oxygen for a week.

Months later, I still have symptoms of Long COVID and am still recovering gradually. One of our oldest board members died. He was a chartered accountant who taught me a lot about portfolio management and hedging. 2020, was a tough year with both highs and lows.''her tweet read

Little, believed to be the most prolific serial killer in American history, has died at age 80, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Wednesday.

Little had been serving three consecutive life-without-parole sentences from Los Angeles County for the deaths of three women that occurred in the late 1980s.

However, he had confessed to 93 other murders, according to the FBI, which said his admissions were “credible.”
