B. Smith’s Husband Says His White Girlfriend Alex Lerner ‘Took Off’ After Wife’s Passing

 Dan Gasby, the husband of popular model/restaurant owner B. Smith – is speaking out about his controversial relationship with Alex Lerner, while he was still married.

 In 2013, the former Wilhelmina model - the first African-American model to grace the cover of women’s magazine Mademoiselle - was diagnosed with early Alzheimer's. Since then, her husband of 26 years, Dan Gasby, has been caring for her. 

 B. Smith passed away this past February. 

Dan and his girlfriend made headlines after flaunting their relationship online. Then, the couple revealed they were supposedly moving in together so Alex could help Dan take care of lifestyle guru B. Smith, who had advanced Alzheimer’s.

  Dan claims Alex never moved in with him and that she only spent a lot of time at B. Smith’s home to help with the weight of taking care of her. 

"No. She never lived there," he told 'Successful Philanthorphy' host Jean Shafiroff in an interview. "That was an angry woman—there was a room where she could stay and put stuff if she wanted to put stuff. But the press and because of the racial situation, the press and certain people had a field day with that.

 My wife dated white men, Asian men. I dated white, Black, whatever. Some people are not comfortable with that. But Alex Learner never lived at my house. She was there on weekends, twice a month. And I’d go into town and stay at her place on occasion."

 Since Alex left Dan, he has since deleted all photos of her from his Facebook.

  "No, she took off and you know, whatever. I wish her well. Life has a way of—whatever you deserve you’ll ultimately get and that’s fine," he said. Lagos State Police Command has revealed the identified of the police officer who shot his girlfriend in the mouth at the Salvation bus stop in Opebi, Lagos state on Thursday, October 8.

Genevieve Nnaji penned a scathing open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari via her social media pages in the wake of #ENDSARS, a protest against police brutality on Friday October 9. Fraud allegations: Court freezes Lagos Speaker Obasa’s accounts

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ordered the interim freezing of three bank accounts belonging to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.

The 3 accounts domiciled in Standard Chartered Bank and the funds placed in them are to be temporarily frozen pending the conclusion of the investigation and possible prosecution of the allegations of fraud made against the Speaker.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo made the order pursuant to a motion ex-parte filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC which is investigating the Speaker for offenses of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.

The EFCC said it filed the matter “Pursuant to section 44 (2) (K) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and section 26, 29, and 34 (1) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004.

Louise Glück Makes History with Nobel prize in Literature Win

Poet and essayist, Louise Glück has made history after becoming the first American woman to win the Nobel prize for literature in 27 years.

Glück, who has many literary awards to her credit, was today (Thursday, October 8, 2020) declared winner of the 2020 Nobel Prize award in Literature.

The 77-year-old won the award for “her unmistakable poetic voice that with austere beauty makes individual existence universal.”

Explaining how she won the keenly contested award, Anders Olsson, the chair of the Nobel prize committee, said Glück’s voice is candid and uncompromising.

According to Olsson, Glück is full of humour and biting wit, and her 12 collections of poetry, from Faithful and Virtuous Night to The Wild Iris are characterised by a striving for clarity.

“In her poems, the self listens for what is left of its dreams and delusions, and nobody can be harder than she in confronting the illusions of the self,” Olsson said. “But even if Glück would never deny the significance of the autobiographical background, she is not to be regarded as a confessional poet.”

This new feat for Glück however makes her the 16th woman to win the award since its inception in 1901.

Posting the picture of a baby’s sonogram on her page on Wednesday, October 7, Trainor wrote;

“You all know how long I’ve wanted this!!!!”

“@darylsabara and I are so beyond happy and excited to meet this little cutie early next year! WE’RE PREGNANTTTTT!!!”

Spy Kids alum, Sabara, announced the pregnancy news on his Instagram page alongside the same sonogram photo. He wrote;

“I love you @meghan_trainor and I can’t wait to start a family with you.”

The baby news comes just two months before the couple’s second wedding anniversary.
Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara tied the knot in December 2018 in an intimate ceremony in their backyard on Meghan’s 25th birthday.

Mimi Orjiekwe raised an alarm over the issue of being wary best friends that has been a hot topic on social media .

The makeup mogul of one took to her Instagram story to post a warning as well as recount her experience with a former bestie.

Mimi Orjiekwe stated that her then friend was feeding her then boyfriend false information about her in order to extort money from him.

She remembered a particular incident where the friend slept over at her place and around 5:30 am, her phone rang. She kept saying ‘Yes sir’ until she got to the bathroom.

Mimi said that she knew the voice sounded familiar but her friend insisted it was her boss who needed her at the office early, reason for the call. She believed her then but later found it out to be false.

Mimi Orjiekwe sounded a note of warning advising fans to be wary of “hungry attachment besties…they are evil”.
