British Tennis Player, Emma Raducanu Donates US Open Trophy To Lawn Tennis Association

British tennis player, Emma Raducanu,18 has donated her US Open trophy to Lawn Tennis Association at National Tennis Centre, London.
Raducanu picked up $2.5 million
(2.1 million euro) in prize money for her win in New York and also came
home with US Open trophy in what was only her second appearance at a
Grand Slam.
Victory in New York has catapulted Raducanu into the
superstar bracket, but she is not getting carried away and felt it
appropriate to pay thanks to those who helped in her formative years.
As such, the 18-year-old gifted the US Open trophy to the LTA’s National Tennis Centre in London.
Netflix has released the official trailer for their forthcoming thriller-drama series, “True Story,” starring Wesley Snipes and Kevin Hart.

norm to become a person that he never had no idea that he could ever be.

“Squid Game” Passes Three Billion Viewing Mark on Netflix – a Historical Record

According to Deadline,
the South Korean famous show has topped Nielsen’s U.S. streaming
rankings for Sept. 27 to Oct. 3, raking in over three billion minutes
viewed in a single week’s time, making it the sixth title to ever reach
this record and the best performing series of the U.S.’s 2021 rankings.

On Oct. 19, Netflix revealed in a letter to its investors
that 142 million households around the world have watched the show
since it first debuted in September. “A mind-boggling 142m member
households globally have chosen to watch the title in its first four
weeks,” the letter said. “The breadth of Squid Game’s popularity is truly amazing.”
Squid Game’s nine episodes saw 3.26 billion minutes of viewing in that time frame. Behind it are Midnight Mass, which saw 1.17 billion minutes of viewing from Sept. 27 to Oct. 3, and then Maid, which saw 850 million minutes. Squid Game first opened on the charts with 1.9 billion minutes of viewing.

Gloria Williams & Brian Coulter Charged In Boy’s Death, Siblings’ Abandonment

Gloria Williams, was arrested after her 3 sons were found abandoned in an Houston-area apartment, and her boyfriend, Brian Coulter, has been charged with the murder of her fourth son.
The medical examiners office said on Tuesday that they found the
skeletal remains of the 8-year-old child in the apartment with his three
brothers.
The death was ruled a homicide with blunt force injuries.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Brian Coulter is accused of killing the child in 2020.
Coulter’s bond was set at $1 million on Wednesday, and he is currently being held at a mental health facility.
Williams has also been charged with injury to a child by omission and tampering with evidence (human corpse).
She is due in court Wednesday morning, and her bond was set at $900k.

The brothers ages 15, 10, and 7, attended Alief ISD schools, but the district said they haven’t seen them since May 2020.
The school district says they made attempts to contact the mother and
visited the apartment in September 2020, but they were not successful.
According to the school district, the mother had two truancy cases for two boys, one was for 2019 and the other for 2020.
But, truancy cases weren’t enforced by the Harris County DA’s office due to the pandemic.
The 15-year-old son made the call to the police Sunday night, and he
told them that he and his brothers had been living in the apartment by
themselves for months with skeletal remains in another room.
When deputies arrived, they found the remains of the eight-year-old,
and they noticed the two younger boys appeared malnourished with signs
of physical injury.
Neighbors said they thought the 15-year-old lived in the apartment alone.
Neighbor Erica Chapman was upset that inspectors didn’t find the boys sooner.
There is no excuse for this. None
at all. When inspections came … that was the only apartment you didn’t
inspect? What did they know? They never went into that apartment?
Chapman said she helped the 15-year-old in the past.
He was sleeping on the slide and I
asked him if he was hungry. I brought him some food and drinks. I woke
him up. He was going to eat then go back home.
Chapman said she would drop food off at the apartment sometimes, but she didn’t know what was going on inside.
Another neighbor said the 15-year-old would charge his phone at her apartment.
According to CPS (Children’s Protective Services), the three boys are currently in foster care.

To ensure the safety of the
children, the Department of Family and Protective Services is seeking
emergency custody of the three boys.
Child Protective
Services does have history with the family, but there was no active CPS
investigation at the time the children were discovered alone in their
apartment.

LASUTH Performs First Laser Surgery On Kidney Stones
Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) says it has successfully performed its first laser surgery to remove kidney stones from a patient.
Professor Stephen Ikuerowo, Professor of Urology, LASUTH, made the disclosure in a statement issued by Ms Oluwaseyi Adewale, Head, Public Affairs Department of LASUTH, on Thursday, in Lagos.
The urologist revealed that the laser lithotripsytreatment would save patients the pain of opening up their upper urinary tract during surgery.
Lithotripsy is a treatment using ultrasound shock waves to break kidney stones into small particles that can be passed out by the body.
LASUTH is the first public hospital to deploy laser treatment for kidney stones in Lagos, and arguably in Nigeria, Ikuerowo said.

Facebook has changed its corporate name to Meta as part of a major rebrand for the social media giant.
The California-based company said it would better “encompass” what it
does, as it broadens its reach beyond social media into areas like
virtual reality (VR).
Interestingly, the new change does not apply to its individual
platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, only the parent
company that owns them.
In 2015, Google restructured its company calling its parent firm Alphabet, however, the name has not caught on.
Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg announced the new name as he unveiled
plans to build a “metaverse” – an online world where people can game,
work and communicate in a virtual environment, often using VR headsets.
He said the existing brand could not “possibly represent everything that we’re doing today, let alone in the future”, and needed to change.
“Over time, I hope that we are seen as a metaverse company and I
want to anchor our work and our identity on what we’re building
towards,” he told a virtual conference.
“We’re now looking at and reporting on our business as two
different segments, one for our family of apps, and one for our work on
future platforms.
“And as part of this, it is time for us to adopt a new company
brand to encompass everything that we do, to reflect who we are and what
we hope to build.”

FBN Holdings places Otedola 2nd behind single largest shareholder Hassan-Odukale

Holdings Plc on Wednesday confirmed that the chairman of FirstBank Bank
Tunde Hassan-Odukale is the single largest shareholder in the company.
This
followed claims that Femi Otedola became the single largest shareholder
after recently purchasing more than five per cent equity stakes in the
company.
The
company secretary Seye Kosoko in a statement confirmed that Messrs
Hassan-Odukale and Otedola are the only shareholders with more than five
per cent shareholding in the company.
The statement, however, said that Hassan-Odukale owns 5.36 per cent while Otedola owns 5.07 per cent.
The holding company of First Bank of Nigeria Limited also informed the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) of the development.
The
NGX had requested the company to issue an announcement on why it
classified the indirect shareholdings of Hassan-Odukale into two parts
of 4.16 per cent and 1.2 per cent.
The
exchange also demanded that FBNH clarify its reasons for including 1.05
per cent of Leadway Pensure PFA’s holdings as part of Hassan-Odukale’s
1.2 per cent indirect shareholdings in the company.
The company
said, “The first 4.216 per cent are shares held directly and indirectly
by Mr Tunde Hassan-Odukale. The second 1.2 per cent are shares ascribed
to Mr Tunde Hassan-Odukale due to his influence and having significant
control.
“Mr Tunde Hassan-Odukale has an indirect interest in
Leadway Holdings Limited that holds 69 per cent equity in Leadway
Pensure PFA and as such exerts significant influence and control over
Leadway Pensure. Consequently, the company ascribed these shareholdings
to him.”
FBNH listed provisions in the Companies and Allied Matters Act and the Investment and Securities Act to justify its actions.

Lagos State High Court in Ikoyi has barred all commercial banks in the
country from releasing funds totalling N11.7 billion to a couple, Bamise
and Elizabeth Ajetunmobi.
The couple is believed to have fled the
country after duping investors of over N22 billion with their companies
Imagine Global Holding Company Limited and Imagine Global Solutions
Limited.
Justice
Toyin Oyekan-Abdullai also granted an order restraining the couple and
their companies pending the hearing and determination of the suit
against them.
According to court papers, investors in the company
Imagine Global sued the couple through their counsel Adetunji
Adedoyin-Adeniyi.
