Katy Perry says she came close to committing suicide after breaking up with her now-fiancé, Orlando Bloom, in 2017.

In a new interview with SiriusXM’s CBC Radio One, Perry spoke about the split with Bloom, which coincided with her album Witness being greeted with mixed reviews.
“My career was on this trajectory when it was going up, up, and up, and then I had the smallest shift, not that huge from an outside perspective. But for me it was seismic,” Perry said.
“I had broken up with my boyfriend, who is now my baby-daddy-to-be, and then I was excited about flying high off the next record,” Perry said. “But the validation did not make me high, and so I just crashed.”
Perry and Bloom met in 2016 at the Golden Globes and dated for a year before briefly splitting in February 2017. Katy Perry described finding herself in an upsetting place where she considered suicide.
“Gratitude is probably the thing that saved my life because if I did not find that; I would have wallowed in my own sadness and probably just jumped,” Perry said. “But I found the ways to be grateful. If it gets really, really hard I walk around and say, ‘I am grateful, I am grateful!’ even though I am in a shit mood.”

Controversial Nigerian rapper, Speed Darlington has rained insults on a scammer who opened a fake page with his name on Instagram and got it verified.
According to the controversial rapper, the scammer stalks him on all his social media platforms, steals all his videos and photos and uploads on his fake IG page.
The scammer also dupes innocent followers of their money by promising to do advertisements for them and blocking them after collecting money from them.
Reacting to this, Speed Darlington printed out a copy of the IG page on a paper and advised his real fans to troll the page and report it, till Instagram takes it down.

The Wall Street Journal reports the house that served as a "outside"" for the Miami-set exhibition is in fact located in the ritzy Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
At home, right down to its blueprints; as an inspiration for a full size replication of the structure. Disney's Hollywood Studios has the replication in Orlando, Florida, after the show.

Nigerian/Austrian fashion brand Imaatu has dropped an AD Campaign for their forthcoming collection titled TRAPPED.

Nigerians are trolled an online fashion store which displayed some earrings set at a whooping price of $440 (170,000 naira).
The Nobo clip earring which obviously looks like a peg used in pinning clothes after hanging them on a rope was placed at a shocking sum of $440.
Reacting to this, Nigerians dragged the fashion store for selling ‘clothes peg’ for N170,000 and not a lesser price.
Some Nigerians, reacting to the same photo, noted that they already have so many pegs at home and they will likely bring them out and wear them on their ears instead of purchasing an earring for such amount.

Governor Oyetola: stops salaries of footballers, coaches and athletes
Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has stopped the wages and salaries of contract coaches and athletes, including staff and players of the state-owned football clubs, Osun United and Osun Babes.
Tajudeen Amodu, the Media Officer of Osun United, said news of the salary suspension was conveyed in a letter signed by the Acting General Manager of the State Sports Council, Rotimi Dunmoye.
Amodu said a copy of the letter was addressed to the Secretary of Osun United.
The letter reads in part: “Payments to staffers on other salaries, including Osun United Football Club, are suspended forthwith as approved by the state governor, Gboyega Oyetola.”
Amodu said further that the club management had received the letter from the Ministry of Youths and Sports through the State Sports Council, confirming the suspension of salaries.
Amodu said the club’s President, Ademola Adesina, had since reacted by urging Gov. Oyetola, to consider that global best practices forbid abrupt stoppage of salaries of footballers under contractual agreements with clubs.
“Adesina also urged the governor to emulate other state governments which have continued to pay salaries of their state-owned teams since the suspension of sports activities due to the coronavirus pandemic.’’
He added that Adesina appealed to the state government to consider the multiplier effects the salary stoppage would have on the players and their salaries at this period.
“Apart from the fact that contracts of our players have not been officially terminated, if salaries are stopped during this period, the living standard of beneficiaries from this medium will nosedive because of the current situation of the country which has been badly affected by COVID-19.
“We therefore appeal to the state government to look into the matter and lift the suspension on the salaries of Osun United, Osun Babes, their management boards, as well as contract coaches and athletes in the state,’’ Adesina was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the state government has restated its suspension and stoppage of all protocols on sports activities with immediate effect.
Funmilayo Moradeyo, the Osun Sports Council spokesperson, on Wednesday in Osogbo explained that the measure was to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Moradeyo said a letter signed by the state’s Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Special Needs, Yemi Lawal, had restated the directives.
She said further that the letter indicated that the suspension would be “lifted or overturned when normalcy returns.’’

This was during the Africa Now Radio Show hosted by DJ Cuppy on Apple Music and she further stated that she is making afrobeats from the women’s perspective, such that women would be able to find her songs relatable because they have been through the emotions that accompany the music.
She said, “There are some things that I need to put on some afrobeat that my girls are gonna be like… what. Like I want to show our vulnerable side. I want to go to concerts and girls are singing their hearts out because they have been through this emotion. But it’s still on Afrobeats. Nigerian billionaire cum politician, Prince Ned Nwoko has sued online publisher Azuka Jebose Molokwu for N2billion over slander of character.
This is contained in a writ of request acquired from Effurun High Court, Delta State in the interest of Nwoko by his insight, Ikhide Ehighelua, and Co dated July 13, 2020.
Also joined in the suit No. EHC 99 as the second defendant is Prince Chukwunonso Nwoko identified as the employer and sponsor of the first defendant, Jebose, a native of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, resident in the United States of America.
According to the suit, both defendants made highly defamatory publications in several online blogs and other social media platforms “calculated to reduce the estimation of the claimant” and damage his reputation in the public.
