Amaechi Says FG Willl Build $800 Million Seaport In Warri



The federal government is set to build a new Sea Port, estimated to cost $800 million in Pessu area of Warri in Delta state.
Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi disclosed this Thursday, at the Petroleum Training Institute Conference Centre, in Uvwie council area of Delta state.
Amaechi who was in company of the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN) and Director-General, National Directorate of Employment, Dr. Nasiru Ladan Argungu tasked youths of the area to support the forthcoming project.
The trio were in the state to present starter packs, micro enterprise enhancement loans and resettlement packages to 1,700 women and youths under the National Directorate of Employment empowerment programme.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye has donated a sum of N10 million to the University College Hospital, Ibadan – The pastor donated the money for a hemodialysis machine that cost N10 million – Adeboye’s son, Leke, revealed that his father has promised to donate 2 more machines General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has donated the sum of N10 million to the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, Oyo state.

It was gathered that the N10 million was used to purchase one hemodialysis machine for the hospital. The machine is said to be used to filter a patient’s blood to remove excess water and waste products in the blood.

Suspected Fraudster, Mompha Sues EFCC For N5 Million Over Unlawful Detention



 Mompha, has filed a suit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleging unlawful detention and a violation of his rights.
Mompha was arrested on October 19 at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on allegations of cybercrime and money laundering.
The Instagram celebrity has now filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit at the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere through his lawyer, Gboyega Oyewole.

Buhari Signs Executive Order 009 Ending Open Defecation By 2025




President Muhammadu Buhari has just signed Executive Order 009 to end open defecation in the country by 2025.
The new order states, among others, “That by this Order, Nigeria is committed to being open defecation-free by 2025.
“That the National Open Defecation-Free (ODF) Roadmap developed by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources with support from other key sector players across Nigeria be put into effect.
“There is established in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources a National Secretariat called ‘Clean Nigeria Campaign Secretariat.’
“The Secretariat is authorised on behalf of the President to implement this Order by ensuring that all public places, including schools, hotels, fuel stations, places of worship, market places, hospitals and offices have accessible toilets and latrines within their premises.
“All Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government shall cooperate with the Clean Nigeria Campaign Secretariat.
“The National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly shall enact legislation on the practice of open defecation, with appropriate sanctions and penalties.”

FEC Approves N200 Billion Loan For Bank Of Industry



The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the issuance of a Sovereign Guarantee of 500 million Euros (N200bn) from the Credit Suisse AG London Branch and a syndicate of international lenders as collateral for 500m Euro facility to the Bank of Industry (BoI). The Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba, who spoke with State House Correspondents yesterday after the FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said the loan was basically to finance major industrialization projects and micro-small and medium enterprises values chains in Nigeria for up to five years tenure at affordable rates.
Agba, who said the rates are single digit rates, said the guarantor of the loan, to be executed through the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, shall be the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

FUTA suspends students for beating female schoolmate


The Federal University of Technology Akure ,FUTA has suspended students involved in the bullying of their female schoolmate in one of the off campus hostels on Saturday, Adegbenro Adebanjo, Deputy Director, Corporate Communications of the institution said on Sunday.

Adebanjo added that the University will also continue with investigations into the circumstances that led to the incident.


“The University deplores such behaviour and reiterates that all those found to be culpable will be visited with the full weight of the law under the extant rules and regulations governing Students behaviour and conduct off and on the campus at the conclusion of investigation being carried out by the Students Affairs Division.

To start with, I’m this person that draw inspiration from things that happen around me, things I hear, things I read, things I get to see. So, I didn’t write the script. I didn’t write the story. It was written by Dayo Fawore but when I got the synopsis of the story and I read through it, I said ‘wow’, this looks good.

Kanye West announces his first ever Opera


Kanye West has been on a different path for a little while now and definitely set to take his music to new heights with the announcement of his first opera, Nebuchadnezzar.

The event has been scheduled for Nov. 24 and directed by previous collaborator Vanessa Beecroft.

He posted artwork for the opera, with the powerful Babylonian monarch on front. The artwork was designed by Nick Knight.

As Pitchfork points out, Kanye has mentioned Nebuchadnezzar before. “[God] is saying, Let me take this Nebuchadnezzar-type character—Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon, and he looked at his entire kingdom and said, I did this,” the Jesus Is King creator told Zane Lowe during an interview on Apple Music’s Beats 1.

Kylie Jenner has become a bona fide billionaire at the tender age of 22 after selling the majority stake in her cosmetics brand for $600 million.

Russia facing ban from 2020 Olympics and European Championships


Russia could be set for a new ban from major international sporting events like next summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games over claimed inconsistencies in anti-doping data.

The World Anti-Doping Agency's executive committee will gather on December 9 to consider a formal recommendation from its independent compliance review committee (CRC), which is expected to call for the country's national anti-doping agency RUSADA to be declared non-compliant over the anomalies in laboratory results.

Taylor Swift has been cleared to perform many of her earlier hits at the American Music Awards this Sunday.

The 29-year-old pop megastar has been given the green light by both Big Machine and Dick Clark productions to perform Shake It Off among other signature tracks according to a statement released on Monday.

Tokyo finishes building stadium for 2020 Olympics


Construction work has been completed at Tokyo’s National Stadium, set to be the centrepiece of next year’s Olympic Games, the site’s owners said on Tuesday.

The Japan Sports Council said the final work had been completed on Thursday with just the final quality and safety checks remaining before the stadium opens next month.

It will be officially unveiled on Dec. 21, with the Emperor’s Cup soccer final being the first sporting event to be held there on New Year’s Day.

Boxing champion killed by train after crossing railway 'wearing headphones and browsing phone'


A young boxing champion was killed by a train after she crossed a railway line “wearing headphones and browsing her smartphone ”.

Amina Bulakh, 18, did not see the oncoming passenger service train until the moment she was fatally struck at the crossing in her Ukraine hometown, according to reports citing law enforcement.

The Ukrainian women’s youth champion tried to avoid the train but was hit and fatally wounded.

Amina had gone out to the pharmacy in her home village of Tarasivka in Kyiv region, when the incident took place.

Argentina's new president vows to legalise abortion


Argentina’s president-elect, Alberto Fernández, has promised he will move to legalise abortion after taking office on 10 December.

He will send a bill to congress which, if approved, would make Argentina the first major Latin American nation with legalised abortion. The ruling in the 45 million-strong country would follow decisions by its much smaller neighbour Uruguay, which legalised the practice in 2012, and Cuba, in 1965.
