Michael B Jordan Talks “Black Panther,” As He Covers British GQ

Michael B Jordan is on the cover of the latest issue of British GQ, where he discusses “Black Panther” and the #MeToo movement.
Probably the most anticipated movie of the year, “Black Panther,” according to Jordan, is important. He said:
I think it’s extremely important. I feel like I never had that many actors to look at and inspire me growing up. Black actors that I could identify with, that look like me on screen… And I’m just thinking about what this movie is going to do to the kids growing up… Black kids, white kids, all kids because they can imagine just as much as we can, but specifically black kids who don’t have that many positive examples to look at on TV and film. We’re giving black people power, royalty – we don’t gotta be crackheads or gangbangers, selling drugs or robbing people. We don’t have to be comic relief. We can be superheroes. Imagine what that’s going to do to the imagination and ambition of kids watching these movies. That’s the real impact of this film.
Jordan also discusses the #MeToo movement, the rise against sexual misconduct, which has seen the fall of entertainment bigwigs like Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey.
Michael B Jordan described the movement as a cleansing. He said:
I think it’s just a cleansing. I think it’s a power thing and that’s in all industries. I feel like whenever there’s power and men in power, there’s going to be an abuse of power, that’s just human nature… People that were scared to say or speak their truth now are feeling comfortable. People are going to be more responsible with the positions that they are in right now and that’s taught down. The assistants that are coming up, the producers, the actors coming up – everybody’s learning. You have to weed the motherf**kers out so the next crop that come up can learn the right way.

Nkiru Njoku, the editor-in-chief for Mnet Tinsel, weighed on the trend rape argument that began after a man asked for a complaint. The man involved said that he had sex with the woman when, at mid-action, she told him to stop, but he refused, and she did not agree. He now asks if he can be described as rape. Opinions were divided as to whether he could be considered rape and Ms. Njoku now gave her opnion;

Ebony Reigns Dies In Gory Car Accident

 

The Ghanaian musician Ebony is dead. She is known as the "bad girl" of Ghana's music industry because of her provocative dressing style combined with her stage performances. Previous reports have indicated that RuffTown Records musicians died in a car accident in Sunyani on Thursday night. This was confirmed by the Ghana Police Service who spoke to the Accra-based radio station, Joy FM. How Ghana's Ebony is dead COP Ken Yeboah, commander of the Ashanti Regional Police, confirmed Ebony's death in an interview with the radio station. According to him, the singer had a fatal accident around 11 pm Thursday on her way to Sunyani. Other media reports that the artist died while he was at the government hospital in Becchem. The police commander said that three other people - two ladies and a soldier who were with the musician - also lost their lives. However, it is reported that the driver of Ebony's car, although in critical condition, is not dead. Social media responds to shock of Ebony's death Comments on his death and condolences began pouring in via social media, with many Ghanaians expressing surprise at Ebony's death. A singular thought that runs through the comments and condolences is incredulity in passing. Many social media users commented on the cruelty of synchronization when they considered that Ghanaian musicians had been at its peak, having only recently released hit songs like, Kupe, Poison and his debut album, BONIFIED.

DSTV/GOTV To Shut Down June 2019

Nigerian Government may have notified the management of MultiChoice DSTV/GOTV that their operations, in Nigeria, will come to an end in 2019 as their license expires June next year.
According to a letter to that effect issued, on Tuesday, by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation(NBC), the license issued to them in 2014 by NBC will not be renewed because it was not in line with Digital Switch Over (DSO) White Paper.
If Multichoice DSTV/GOTV will ever operate in Nigeria again after expiration of its license, the only option left for them is to go to licensed Signal Distribution company, that is Pinnacle Communications Ltd or ITS.
GOTV has been accused of being used as a conduit to siphon foreign exchange from Nigeria by its parent company, South African Multi Choice DSTV.

Daddy Freeze Reacts After A Lady Declared That She Does Not Pay Tithes Anymore

The controversial leader of the freethesheeple movement has reacted to the Facebook post of a lady who declared that she has stopped paying tithes to Winner Chapel.
 She declared on Facebook that she feels do good about her decision and she also used the opportunity to encourage others to pay their tithes to any ministry they believe is using the money to feed the poor and Daddy Freeze reacted to what she said.
She wrote;
“I DONT PAY TITHES TO WINNERS CHAPEL ANYMORE
IT FEELS SOOOOOOO GOOD
PAY YOUR TITHES TO ANY MINISTRY YOU BELIEVE ARE USING IT TO FEED THE POOR.”

Pressure to marry rich men so that they can help their moms or siblings. - Huddah Monroe took to social media to rant about the pressure from African homes.

The former Big Brother housemate, via Snapchat, stated that being born in an African family is like slavery.
She wrote;
Most African mothers don’t give a fuck about their daughters: As long as she provides. They even advise you to marry a rich man for their own selfish reasons. So many girls out there hustling out of pressure.

You see young gals 16,17,18 already whoring to make some cash cos they are under pressure. Pressure to help their families. Pressure to marry rich men so that they can help their moms or siblings.
Being born in an African family is like slavery, punishment. It’s like a debt. You were born so that you can toil for your family for the rest of your life. We must change that MENTALITY. Help them where you can and leave the rest for God.
One thing i know is that people who always expect handouts will never have enough. And they will always want more. And they pressure you like its a must. We must DEAD that mentality.

"I am not afraid of arraignment before the court" - Innoson reacts following the issuance of his arrest warrant

Chairman of Innoson Group, Chief Dr innocent Chukwuma aka Innoson has stated that as a law abiding citizen, he's not afraid of arraignment in the court but he must be arraigned through the due process of law.

Innoson stated this tthrough Cornel Osigwe, the Head of Corporate Communications
for Innoson Group while receiving the news of issuance of bench warrant against him today by State High Court Ikeja.

In a ruling by Justice Mojisola Dada, the court ordered that Innoson should be arrested and kept in custody a day before the next adjournment and be produced on the adjourned date, March 14, 2018 for probable arraignment over alleged forgery.

The spokesperson of Innoson Group, Cornel Osigwe reacting to the issuance of bench warrant against Innoson stated that the decision of Justice Mojisola Dada was done in bad faith because the judge did not grant the counsel to Innoson, Prof J.N Mbadugha Esg a fair hearing.

During the court proceedings of today Prof Mbadugha invited the attention of the court to the motions pending in the matter, viz:
• that the charge is an abuse of process because a similar charge on the same subject matter is pending at the federal high court Lagos division between the same parties in charge no FHC/l/565c/2015;
• a motion pending at the court of appeal to stay commencement of proceedings and execution of the court’s order of 17th January 2018;
• a motion that the court recuse or disqualify itself from further conduct of the proceedings; and a motion that EFCC cannot be heard in any application until it withdraws the charge given a pending motion against it praying that it be restrained from filing any charge in respect of the same subject matter of the charge that was struck out until the determination of the appeal against the court’s order striking out the previous charge- Charge No. ID/197c/2013.
Prof Mbadugha also informed the court that the 3rd defendant has not been served and as such the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the matter.
All the submissions of Prof Mbadugha to the judge were not granted, however the judge granted the plea of the counsel to EFCC who prayed the court to issue a bench warrant against Innoson. The issuance of bench warrant led to a wild jubilation by some staff of GTB and their lawyers who were fully seated in the court.
It must be stated that based on the submission of Prof Mbadugha, counsel to Innoson, the judge erred in law by making an order to issue a bench warrant against Innoson.
The court is bound by law to listen and decide the applications submitted rather than making an order to arraign Innoson in a charge that is an abuse of process.
Osigwe have previously maintained that the EFCC charge which is being instigated by GTB is a gross abuse of process. First, an earlier charge which GTB induced the EFCC to file against Innoson was struck out. Innoson appealed against the order striking the charge out on the ground that it ought to be a dismissal and not striking out. The appeal, with Appeal No: CA/L/1328CM/2017 is, till date, still pending when EFCC filed or re-filed, in December 2017, the same charge that was struck out. Secondly, the charge is on the same subject matter and the same party as Charge No: FHC/L/565C/2015 that is pending at the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, in Appeal No: CA/E/249C/2016.
Both charges are smear campaign by GTB and EFCC to destroy Innoson.
