The country will not survive another civil war – Kayode Fayemi

Ekiti state governor Kayode Fayemi has urged Nigerians to embrace peace as the country can not afford another civil war.
Fayemi made this known yesterday at the official launch of the state emblem appeal fund for the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Ado-Ekiti.
He said:
“There is no price too high to pay for peace when compared to the cost of war. I, therefore, enjoin all engaged in acts that can endanger the fragile peace in our nation to desist from fanning the embers of war.

“This nation cannot afford another war and we must live in peace with one another. We must resolve that never again shall we allow our dear nation by our actions or inactions to experience another war.”..

Apple just lost $57 billion in the stock market and dropped to the fourth most valuable company.

Their products are simply over priced, It costs basically around $300 to build an iPhone and they sell it at above $1000 while there are phones with better features that cost less. I bet Steve Jobs (God bless his soul) wouldn’t allow this unacceptable overpricing.
Apple stock initially opened on Thursday at $144 which was around a $14 drop from its already plummeting price when the markets closed on Wednesday.
Now, their stock is at its lowest price in almost 2 years . The current stock price pushes the Cupertino Company down to the fourth most valuable company behind Microsoft, Amazon and Google.
Their current market value now sits at about $57 billion less than it did before CEO Tim Cook’s letter to investors yesterday.

Snoop Dogg Wants to Adopt Dog Named Snoop After Video of the Pup Being Abandoned Goes Viral

Snoop Dogg has fallen for a pup named Snoop.
Just a few days before Christmas, Snoop — a young bull terrier — was abandoned in England.
In a heartbreaking video released by Rachel Butler, who works as a regional manager for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), an unidentified man can be seen dumping Snoop on the street along with the pup’s bed.
Not understanding what happened, Snoop the dog attempted to get back in the car with his owner, and even circles around the vehicle before the owner drove off.
Snoop was later rescued by RSPCA, who named him after the 47-year-old Long Beach rapper.
After seeing the clip, Snoop Dogg was moved. “It is heartbreaking,” Snoop Dogg told The Daily Star.

Despite Fight, Corruption Still Thrives In Nigeria, NBS Says

Buhari said he came into office to fight, is flourishing under his nose, with the Federal capital territory recording the highest number of cases, according to data released by the National Bureau of statistics, covering year 2016.
NBS data show that corruption cases increased in about 15 states in the country, while only about six and two states reported a decline and zero in the number of corruption cases, respectively.
Abuja, the capital city of the country where major political and administrative activities hold, had the highest number with 657 reported cases in that year, according to the report.
Abuja was followed by Lagos and Kaduna, with each reporting over a 100 cases, according to a graphical representation by the NBS, as the statistical agency did not provide exact numerical values of corruption cases in other states besides

Ambode Retired 21 Perm Secs To Enable Tinubu’s Ex-PA, Okunola Become HOS – Agbaje

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has faulted the appointment of Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola as the new Head of Service in the state, saying the action sacrificed career progression and was ‘politics taken too far.’
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had, on Monday, sworn in Muri-Okunola as the 21st HoS in the state, in place of Mrs. Folashade Adesoye who retired in December 2018.
At 46 years old, Muri-Okunola is said to be the youngest ever HoS in the history of Lagos State.
Agbaje, in a statement by his campaign organisation’s Directorate of Media and Publicity, on Thursday, described the appointment as “insensitive, unjust and disruptive of the civil service hierarchy.”
He said, “Indications are that, to pave way for the assisted meteoric rise of the new HoS, the Lagos State Government had, between January and November 2018, forcefully retired no fewer than 21 permanent secretaries considered as superiors and more experienced to the new man.
“There is a sense of shock and injustice in all this. It is bound to create bad blood and injustice within the system.

2019 presidency: Fani-Kayode slams Fr. Mbaka for endorsing Buhari for second term

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister, on Wednesday reacted to the endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term by the Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.


Mbaka had claimed that if God was against Buhari, He would have allowed him to die. In his new year message, the clergyman said Buhari remained the best presidential candidate.

“Among all the Presidential aspirants, Buhari stands in the best position in winning the presidential election,” Mbaka had said.

Reacting to Mbaka’s endorsement, Fani-Kayode described the cleric as an agent of Satan.

In a tweet, Fani-Kayode wrote: “If God does not want Buhari he could have died – Father Mbaka. “Short man devil has spoken! I am convinced beyond all reasonable doubt that this creature from the 7th circle of hell is an agent of satan. “He is worse than Rasputin: he thrives on falsehood and reeks of sulphur!”

I Once Prostrated For Amosun, Begged Him Over Yewa Agenda – Dapo Abiodun

Ogun State governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Prince Dapo Abiodun said he once prostrated to his estranged friend Governor Ibikunle Amosun to accept the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Adeola, a son of Yewa from Ogun West.

He made the disclosure at a meeting with Yewa Traditional Council in Ilaro, debunking rumours that he was aversed to the idea of having a governor from the area for Ogun.

“Let nobody think that we are not sensitive to the long time yearnings of Ogun West to also produce governor for the state. As a very strong believer in this cause, I personally took your son, Sen. Adeola to Gov. Amosun, begged and prostrated for him to support his governorship ambition but he refused. That I am the governorship candidate of APC today in our dear State remains a testimony of God’s awesomeness and that He is the only one who has the power to enthrone,” he said.

Senator Adeola, from Pahayi, Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government but representing Lagos West at the National Assembly, had made a great impression in Ogun State with his gubernatorial ambition but beat a retreat early this year when it was obvious that the support of the governor was not forthcoming.

Amosun had repeatedly vowed at the time that he would not hand over to ‘Tekobo’ or a Lagos returnee. Adeola popularly called Yayi was already deep in Lagos politics, having represented the state in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Nancy Pelosi Elected US House Speaker

Democrat Nancy Pelosi has officially been elected the speaker of the US House, CNN  reports

Pelosi, the first and only woman to occupy the position (her first time was from 2007 to 2011), defeated the Republican nominee Kevin McCarthy, winning 220 votes.

Pelosi who had served as the House minority leader, replaces Republican Paul Ryan.

Democrat Nancy Pelosi was on Thursday elected to be the new speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives as her party took majority control of the lower chamber following its victory in the midterm elections Nov. 6.

Pelosi defeated GOP nominee Kevin McCarthy to the position, winning 220 votes after the House opened yesterday.

This is her second stint as speaker after she became the first woman ever to hold the job, serving from 2007 until 2011, until Republicans began an eight-year run in the House majority.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump told a group of lawmakers he can’t accept Democrats’ offer to re-open the government as the two sides negotiate border wall funding because he “would look foolish if I did that,” according to a person familiar with the exchange.

The President and Democrats are at daggers drawn over funding for a border wall.
